I have this game, never made it past the third world.

Who ever was in charge of level design for the water level was sick in the head.

Technically, unless the fall knocks out your health it isn't a death, you take I think 2 squares of damage and are returned the map outside the building you entered

It’s worse than you all think. Not only do they die, they are written out of existence. They disappear after being killed, and then are missing from the team. Kinda dark really.

Being eaten by the deadly corals really terrified me as a kid.

I usually stopped playing after the dam.

Missed the secret one

This game was poorly designed. Single player, lot's of lagging and...that one cravive you can walk over.

The "eaten alive" death used to freak me out as a kid. Watching a turtle getting dragged to its death was creepy. The music never helped either. I've had this game for 35 years, and to this day, I *still* haven't beaten it. I beat it in the Cowabunga Collection, but that doesn't count.

It always made me wonder why as a turtle you couldn't just jump back out of the water if you fell in? Cheap death.

One of the most frustrating games of the NES era... I'm sure it was responsible for many rage quits and/or broken controllers!🤦🏼‍♀️😅

I was a bit confused because it says Unique deaths but most of these have the same animation, I was expecting just the ones with DIFFERENT animations. Also falling off a building doesn't kill you either

So much went into this game. years People were so hard on it. I grew up playing it before the arcade game. This has been my favorite game for many years.

You get flattened by a steamroller, melted by lava, shocked to death by seaweeds and afterwards April says you “got caught.”

I long assumed Shredder's Retro Mutagen Gun was an insta-death.
