The common tangent AB of a compound curve is 76.42m with an azimuth of 268º30', the vertex V being inaccessible. The azimuth of the tangents AV and VB was measured to be 247º50'; and 282º50' respectively. The stationing at A is 10+010.46 and the degree of the first curve is 4º based on the 20m chord. Use chord basis.

Using the degree of curvature, you can obtain the radius of the curve and start from there

for vertical or horizontal movement, the unit load of 1kN always acts to the left/right or upward/downward only... the inclined force at the joint will only affect the REAL system, not the VIRTUAL system

I failed to clarify it here but there are actually two possible values for the unknown angle. There is an obtuse angle value and an acute angle value. However, in the reference I used, the choices could only be obtained by using the obtuse angle. I found another reference, though, that used the acute angle.

form ka three equations since duna kay three unknowns.. two vertical reactions sa support then ang value sa load P.. first equation moment ka sa any support.. second equation kay based on shear at the supports.. then third equation irelate sya sa shear at the midspan

Hello po, di ko gets yung mag input ng 3 sa calculator for finding the location of the maximum deflection. like dapat ba talaga 3? or pwede ibang values? pero if ibang values iinput ko iiba kasi yung result. Correct me if I'm wrong pero is it 3 because half siya sa distance ng beam AB? which is doon pinakamalapit yung possible value ng x na zero shear siya? Thank you!

@@1295key height of the spandrel is always at the moment center.. depende na po yan sa rotation na macaucause ng load about the moment center yung concavity nya.. upward rotation generally means upward concavity, downward otherwise

hello po, this method is generally not advised for nonprismatic beams.. fastest way para sakin for non prismatic is the Virtual work method po.. but baka pwede ko po gawan yan
