It's the penultimate week of the Season and I have it all to lose! It's a sprint to the finish line, can I hold onto 1500 iRating and 3 safety rating?

This was a really tough week which I really enjoyed. 7 races this week, several top 5's, a couple of podiums and a lot of crashes!

This week I get lucky - one of these days, the competition will stop crashing each other out of races and I'll have to win on merit!

I qualified on pole for this race, going to do my best to hang on to it!

As the strength of field increases, the challenge grows. This week I'm trying to raise the bar and compete at a higher level than I've been used to. I also switched to VR which almost cost me the race!

Week 7 in my rookie season and I'm starting to improve my pace and confidence in the corners. Had a few wobbles this week but overall finished with an improved iRating. Unfortunately, not so much on the old safety rating! Please comment with any suggestions for improvements I can make (both to my driving and the videos themselves), or to just let me know I suck. Having had 2 weeks out of the season due to Covid, I returned in week 6 at Tsukuba with an upgraded brake pedal and some determination to get back on track.

I had a tough week at Okayama. I struggled to get comfortable on the track and couldn't find the consistency I needed to be competitive in the top 5. I also got taken out deliberately in one of my races so keep an eye out for that at the end of the video.

After a reasonably successful first week, I was able to set myself some weekly and season targets to aim for. Let's go!

My first official week in iRacing as a rookie. I've got a few practice races in on the back end of last season, weeks 12 & 13, and now it's on to making a go of my first full season as a rookie!

My first podium finish! There was some close racing and lots of lessons to learn. Also, some formation drifting.

A better result in this race. Considering all the evidence to the contrary, I actually managed a half-decent drive and finished in the top half!

My second race - will I do any better? I finished more laps than the last race, that's for sure!

So, it's time for my first race. I qualified in 5th which you can see in my Race 1 qualifying video with a respectable lap time for a n00b. I learned a lot in this race because of the sheer number of mistakes I made. I also learned that you shouldn't act on your intrusive thoughts whilst travelling at high speed. I finished the race upside down in P12. Classic.
