Just performed the update for my 21 Aviator. Still lots of lag/herky jerky. Takes about 30 seconds after starting vehicle to fully load all information, maps etc. Ford/Lincoln, can you please correct that issue?
Make sure your reformat the thumb drive first and nothing on it. Then re download and plug it back in the truck and truck running takes about 25 minutes
It's waterproof about 1lb seems good I really wanted one but it's a homodyne radio. I hear it has issues with interference. Some say only if you live near a tv pr radio station. Where I live is pretty populated and have several of both. As much as it fills a good role I'll wait on this one
The only reason I went with the Radioddity 20 watt over this one is because of the crazy way you have to open the squelch via the top button on the mic and then adjust the speaker volume via the up and own arrows on the mic and then once again, hit the top button to close the squelch. Has this been a pain for you? That’s the only thing I hate. I also have the BTech GMRS V2 portable and love it.

You seem to have the scan feature in that annoying "timed" mode, as some manufacturers call it. In that mode, it will stop for a few seconds on an active channel, then resume scanning, usually cutting out big chunks of a transmission or conversation in the process. Does this radio also do "carrier" or "carrier dropout" scanning where it does not resume scanning until a transmission is complete and drops out? One other question, does this radio have an external speaker jack on the radio? By radio, I mean the black box the mic plugs in to, not the microphone. Thank You!
What window mount antenna is that I was told that those only work with non-tinted glass yours is clearly tinted and so are mine. I would like to get one.
Hi, I’m looking for some help from the radio folks, do you know what are the VHF/UHF frequency ranges for this radio? I’m a bit confused because sellers on AliExpress advertise for VHF (136-174 MHz) and UHF (400-470 MHz) while on the manufacturer’s websites say something else: VHF (144~148 MHz) and UHF (430-440 MHz) I intend to use it in Canada (AB/BC) in my vehicle and I believe I’ve seen some VHF channels frequencies greater than 150 MHz. I’m a newbie, by the way, don’t own a radio yet and don’t have much knowledge about this radio world. Thanks!
This is GMRS radio will only transmit on assign frequencies , but you could listen on it to other frequencies only . If you’re looking to transmit you will need a license on them frequencies. Depends on what you wanna do but you will need license to transmit
Yes it’s a nice radio for vehicles you don’t have a lot room to mount a larger radio. I like it easy to program copy and paste on chirp from other Btech 50x1. It hits all repeaters in my area. Some good distance.
Hi Aaron I like the sound it’s not bad for small radio. Only thing I could say bad is the mic hanger hook. Kind of cheap. Could used one like the bigger radios. Heat made it fall off on floor . Easy to set up pasted from chirp other radio . Set your mic grain up some like 20 or more. Adjust your colors on screen to see better in light. I was hitting repeaters great . Takes couple days to get use to settings. But easy to use. Good luck with yours! I think you like it ! Keep me posted.

ED Fong makes antennas for whatever application you need and for much cheaper. I ordered his J-pole just got to get the PVC and assemble....check him out and see for yourself.
@@somethingcool7903 I just built that same antenna kit for my base setup. The pvc antenna is mounted inside my home window. Works great. I can hit repeaters 25 miles away.

I did the same but use different size PVC a tripod and a pulley put steel tube inside PVC the wired it down in a couple spots(Ed just cut the ladder line and cap. My radio has hit 150 miles plus and received 260 miles I have GPS and whatever AAP or the tracking feature that pin points and gives you information. You will have to excuse me I been messing around learning HF more recent. I agree the ladder line is very effective I don't see any reason to use anything else. You did use the thinner PVC I take it
Cool bro. A glided wand on carpet pulls 8 inches of Mercury lift.........try it out. It doesn't matter what total possible lift is because carpet is not a total block of vacuum.

I have 2017 Ford Expedition Limited, it has sync 3, but with a 2.0 system 🤷🏻♂️ trying to update it to the 3.4
You can't update to 3.4 with that version. You need 3.3.
Not sure what that other commenter is thinking but you can absolutely update to 3.4 with cyan labs. I just updated from 2.2 to 3.4 today
If you do the usb, how fast / or how long it would take to update???

Format your thumb drive to exFAT instead of FAT32 and reload the update on it. Should work after that

Are you able to receive UHF above 480 MHz? It’s stated in the manual it can but mine will not

Yes had two jacks on front removable panel one for for programming other is speaker jack.
I sure it’s in setting to hold longer. I just plugged in after programming to test.

This is GMRS radio will only transmit on assign frequencies , but you could listen on it to other frequencies only . If you’re looking to transmit you will need a license on them frequencies. Depends on what you wanna do but you will need license to transmit

I got basically the same radio the Anysecu WP9900. I used to hang it was one of the phone magnet mounts that seems to work ok.

You'll enjoy more distance on your radio if you change your antenna. That antenna is a no go for me.
I agree , but for the strong repeaters in my area works great . With most area I travel seems to work. I may mount better antenna later.

I use a tram window mount works great. I hit several repeaters in area.

I just used my Vac gauge it’s over 220 I am thinking around 240. I will be doing more testing with this CFX Zx in future videos.
