🙏🙏🙏. When the student was ready, Dhammdipa appeared. And much gratitude for your excellent students who ask such learned and insightful questions.❤❤❤
Thank you again, Venerable! And thanks to those who posed such enriching questions! 🙏🙏🙏
Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu! Well said. It is good. It is done. ❤
Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu! You've all touched me deeply. I have been practicing a Death Meditation for some time. It is the most freeing experience I've had. I am practicing the art of dying even while I'm learning the art of living. ❤❤❤ I find no fear here. I gain a new insight every time I practice. Still, who knows? I am resting in the not-knowing. Thank you Venerable. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you all so much ❤
This is a really cool idea! I feel truly much closer to the community after watching this. Maybe you'll have some more of these? ❤😅🙏🙏🙏
Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu! Well said! Well done! It is good! Thank you Venerable Dhammadipa 🙏🙏🙏
🙏
I so appreciate joining in via UA-cam. I'm home bound. 🙏🙏🙏
I'm glad that you are able to practice this way. 🙏🙏🙏

Question 3. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer.
Question 2. In *Theravada* that is half-an-hour twice per day body scans followed by meditation. In *Mahayana* it is Dokusan.
Question 1. *You will be enlightened* on what you are to investigate.
"Archangel Tricky" inspired the Dharma. It is significant that in Buddhism we do not perform marriages. :)
Regarding the fifth precept, these days *we need to get into the Spiritual.* Self-discipline is of help, but not enough!!
Well. Due to Education, people are polite. They hide more when engaging in "these things." Due to the work of Steven Spielberg, there exists no public lynching these days.
That is ABBA in the 70s. That's what Hegel meant by dialectic.
I come to a Zendo because I really like the look and feel of the place!
*Sound of one hand clapping:* you're so good at what you do I cannot give you both hands :))
*Koans:* I don't know of any language in which one can express "we have a problem over here, help us solve it" freely.
The statue behind you looks very small, very tiny, when you look at it from above.
Virtue is hard to acquire, while vices have no lid, or cap on them.
Sorry I’m not trying to spam your comment section. I use this to make sure I’m spelling words correctly in my journal so I can talk out loud and it records my words on the computer and then I just copy the words into my journal and we’re good to go, no worries if it’s a problem, I can go back and delete them😊
Where might I find the Zoom link for these talks?❤❤❤
on their website. 😊 you can find it in the description of the video. 😊
Please check the homepage of our website where the times and Zoom link can be found: dassanaya.org
The intimacy of life is best felt finding our way in a dark room.❤❤❤
Turn yourself off… develop the full capacity to awaken… That’s interesting if we’re sitting in a lit room and turn the lights off the room doesn’t go away. We still see… ❤❤❤
Allow your body to be the instrument of reality.❤❤❤
Knowing the completeness of each moment of experience. That’s a beautiful definition.❤❤❤
I’m glad he woke up. Simplicity is tricky. It seems doll and pointless but in fact it as sharp as a razor’s edge. I get it ~ wow.😊 just this 😊 that cuts right through ~ that gets right to the point. ❤🙏🦢🕊️🐦🔥 I did not realize he died my goodness 🙏🙏🙏
Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu! Well said! It is good!
The bird is being a bird 🦢~ 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for the talk and the inspiration to look up some poems - Fell in love with these two poems: The rain has stopped, the clouds have drifted away, and the weather is clear again. If your heart is pure, then all things in your world are pure. Abandon this fleeting world, abandon yourself, Then the moon and flowers will guide you along the Way. (poem by Ryokan, translated by John Stevens) and The plants and flowers I raised about my hut I now surrender To the will Of the wind (by Taigu Ryokan)
Lojong Slogans ~ and ~ Tonglen or Giving and Receiving ~ these are the practices we used to transform the heart in order to cultivate wisdom which helps us probe into the nature of emptiness. It’s a different tradition. I don’t. I’m sure there’s overlap between our two traditions. I’m just trying to figure out what they are. 😊😊😊 The practice of Tonglen or Giving and Receiving is done to develop our compassion and our ability to be present for our own suffering and the suffering of others. It is also a practice of great kindness that opens up our whole being to the overwhelming presence of suffering and our strength and willingness to transform alienation into compassion through the energy of mercy and the cultivation of openness.
I totally agree with the last part 53:07 ~ ❤❤❤. Great job sorry I hope I didn’t come across this too critical. This just left me with a lot more questions which is good questions questions are good.❤❤❤
Tell me more about yourself :)

I, too, have stuck myself into past moments. I'm only now feeling the reunion between body and mind. I welcomed my own return.
Hello

Hello
The metaphors are extremely helpful.🙏🙏🙏
🙏🙏🙏
May all beings everywhere Plagued by sufferings of body and mind, Obtain an ocean of happiness and joy By virtue of my merits. May no living creature suffer, Commit evil or ever fall ill. May no one be afraid or belittled, With a mind weighed down by depression. May the blind see forms And the deaf hear sounds. May those whose bodies are worn with toil, Be restored on finding repose. May the naked find clothing The hungry find food May the thirsty find water And delicious drinks. May the poor find wealth, Those weak with sorrow find joy; May the hopeless find hope, Constant happiness and prosperity. May there be timely rains And bountiful harvests; May all the medicines be effective And wholesome prayers bear fruit. May all who are sick and ill Quickly be freed from their ailments. Whatever diseases there are in the world, May they never occur again. May the frightened cease to be afraid And those bound be freed; May the powerless find power And the people think of benefiting each other. For as long as space remains, For as long as sentient beings remain, Until then may I too remain To dispel the miseries of the world.
Hello
So, when we say "Purification of mindfulness by equanimity" I really think what is meant is the state of mindfulness *gets spread equally* all over our experience. Therefore, the achievements of the previous Jhanas accumulate in the fourth Jhana. I know it says previously "enters and remains" yet this "remains" isn't spread *uniformly* on previous Jhanas, only on the fourth.
Generally I don't think of jhanas as progressing by accumulation but instead by relinquishment of stimulation. Mindfulness has to be applied continuously to attain any of the jhanas. I think of equanimity as not being reactive to what we observe.
Avoiding the consequences of one's actions. Bad actions bring our minds to a phenomenology *where there's lack of guilt.* Bad guys don't perceive phenomenological guilt same as the rest of us!!
They do still spend a lot of time thinking about how to avoid the consequences of their bad behavior and that too is agitation.
So Bhante became Mahayana?
It means that Bhante has taken both the Theravada and Zen Mahayana precepts. 🙏🪷
@@AyyaDhammadipa Not sure what that means.
So does that mean he is Zen now?
I think that you should ask him what he is practicing. It seems clear to me that he is keeping both the Theravada and Zen precepts.
@@AyyaDhammadipa Not really. In the description it says he took the vows and a new dharma name and new lineage. I asked on his page but he didn't answer.
🙏💕
Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu! Thank you, Venerable! I bow to you and to the Triple Gem!
Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu! Well said! Excellent! 🙏🙏🙏
