Cycle 21 was the best bootcamp ever!!!! It was a sisterhood, we worked together, we grew together and we graduated together. That was Shine’s vision and it was a great experience. The Shine and Tyk video is my all time favorite video! We miss you Shine. Definitely a Legend, Icon and all that to those who developed under your instruction.❤ nothing but Love for you!

So sorry I missed this live interview (I was at the Stevie Wonder concert). This was an excellent iinterview. Learned a lot. I was part of Cycle 21!!!!! All the years I've known Shine, I've never heard her side of some of these stories. Cycle 21 and the Shine Entertainment workshop was THE BEST, most organized bootcamp I ever participated in. We had a book to guide us, we had homework. It sounds like a lot but we learned so much!!! I thank you all the time but I'll thank you again. It's your decision to not return but you are missed!

This reiterates aLOT of speculations I've had over the years and makes Me SO GLAD MY DISCERNMENT IS TIGHT!! I MIGHT even come back and finish watching the rest of it if I can stomach it. I remember ALL of them and SOOOO GLAD I've ALWAYS known how to clock sociopaths AND KEEP MY circle filled with AUTHENTICITY! They were HEAVY on that clique shyt -- STILL ARE ('cause sometimes folks don't gtfu).... "This side, that side, westside, southside -- 6count, 8count -- pimp wannabes with elderHeaux & misguided girls that entertain them and blahBlahBLAH" . It's kinda like how some folks REPEATEDLY CHOOSE trash dudes (or even friends) and then claiming that "there are no good men/loyal ppl left". I be like "OF COURSE there are none -- FOR YOU: 'CAUSE *YOU CHOSE THAT* FOR yaSelf", and GENUINE folks can see mess comin' A MILE AWAY, AND RUN in the other direction *BECAUSE* WE CHOOSE DIFFERENTLY -- WITH INTEGRITY. I'm never mad about other adult-aged ppl's choices though: I just don't expect them to be surprised by EXACTLY THE RESULTS THEY BAITED FOR (and cringe to know that most of them procreated because I'm Team *PARENTSoverProcreators, ForTheCULTURE* ). I remember the first WLSC I called Myself attending in the mid 90's WAS INDUBITABLY THE LAST I was EVER gon' attend, 🤣🤣🤣. That was MY FAULT FOR EVER EVEN GOING though, WHEN I KNEW WHAT TO LIKELY EXPECT (and what type of crowd would be in attendance). I lasted about an hour and then took My BLAQazz to a lounge where there were some GROWNfolks enjoying an evening of live music. It's why when My celeb friends would ask where there was a steppers' set, I took them a couple of times, AND THEN STARTED telling them I don't know of any ('cause folks be *predictably* childish and I'm protective of My LovedOnes' ability to go out and enjoy themselves without being pulled into some goofy boolshyt).... SPEAKING OF CHILDISH, I *used to* find out what the colors were for a particular event, and ALWAYS wear the wrong color, 🤣: I know. I know. That WAS petty😏, but NOT NEARLY as petty as middle-aged & retired mofos prioritizing some of the silly shyt they do and placing a whole lifetime of human value on their dance stats, 🤣🤣🤣🤣. And yes, "chistepper" was THEEEE WORST. Definitely theshaderoom of MESS (and of course it aligned with the community's mentality). I also NEVER got My tickets to sets "in advance" because I'd RATHER PAY THE EXTRA $10 at the door than to have *even the shortest* conversation with members of the clique that is hosting. 😅. The higher price WAS WORTH MY PEACE *EVERY SINGLE TIME* (and kept My personal space exclusive to *genuine* folks of Integrity). And YOU CAN TELL THE SELF-PROCLAIMED "heavyhitters" PASSED THE TORCH, by the mentality of the folks who continue to populate the steppin' "community". I cackle inside, btw, every time someone even references someone as a heavyhitter. It's HILARIOUS -- but I lovee knowing who all is buying into those types of things too. TAKING HEED TO RedFlags sharpens character discernment skills, you know. But if they like it, I LOVE IT *FOR THEM!!* FOR ME though, I'm WAAAAY DIFFERENT in that I just prefer to be loved by truly authentic people. I feel like OUR first line of defense is TheCompanyYouKeep, so I enjoy choosing wisely. And I'm not disillusioned as to what kind of society We live in at this stage of the HOLLOWcost, so I'm good as long as there's good music and EVEN JUST A COUPLE of GROWNfolks OF INTEGRITY in attendance -- even if Me & that other (one or two) adults never even address one another, it's EASY TO SPOT which one/two there may be amongst the majority and We ALLLLLL ALREADY KNOW what We're dealing with if/when We decide to attend. I'm just glad there are even just a couple left!! (One of which I recently heard is moving to another state, so I'mma DEFINITELY miss him & his family). UNRELATED SIDEBAR: I actually *still* have MOST of the copies from My "InsideSteppin" subscription. I enjoyed the way it covered different sets & steppers without having a GUTTER take on on everything. I THOUGHT "chistepper" was gonna be an internet version of that, but it just wound up being prettymuch (like she said) TSR of steppers, which as you can see from her admiration, kept up the kind of mess that the community seems to enjoy: so I just kept the OG mags "for old time sake" from a time where there was a publication that actually HONORED the actual dance & adults who simply enjoyed it as Our Art. This is the first time I saw this show (after the fact). I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Sunshine. The information was interesting and informative. What a great guest for the show! I will listen again. I have to add that Sunshine made me laugh...that's a good thing! I love the way she expresses her opinions and feelings. And there it is! The last 25 minutes defined the haters and the predators and the grifters. Invaluable! As my brother says all the time "Truth tellers have few friends!"

I WENT OUT TO A PLACE AND THE WOMAN LOOK PISSED OFF CAUSE THESE SO CALL WANNA BE PLAYERS WAS ASKING ONLY THE ONES THEY KNEW I?? I WATCH EVERYTHING AND EVERYBODY !! I ENDED UP STEPPING WITH ALL DA WOMEN AT THE TABLE!! One of them ENDED UP BEING MY WIFE LOL !! SHE MY BEST FRIEND,WIFE .MOTHER ,& CAN THROW THEM HANDS IF NEEO BE !!!

As a Texan who lives in Harlem and a lindy hopper, I must caution the steppin dance community. The desire to go global has a price. I'd hate to see this dance form gentrified. Just like swing/lindy which we created in Harlem, the dance has been colonized and not many know who started it. I've danced all over the globe and have witnessed black dancers be gaslit and discriminated against in the Swing community. Gentrifiers come in, learn the dance and take over in every situation. Nothing but love for my people, but we must not lose this dance form.
