I agree. None of those men who persude Demekza would've looked at her in that dog fight. It was Ross raising her up and she becomes a lady that made the others desire her.

I agree. Just because Ross cheated doesn't excuse Demelzas cheating. Two wrongs don't make a right. She was my favorite until her trist with Hugh the snake. Doesn't make her better than Ross which many people believe, it makes her just like Ross and Elizabeth. Cheaters. Lost my respect for Demelza.

Yeah , i agree 2 wrongs dont make a right, But that's fiction for you, the aristocracy never plucked peasants from obcurity in those times and married them, so its very far fetched anyway, the moral issue is what raises interest today, Was Demelza captivated by love of Hugh or repaying Ross for his infidelity, She proclaims to love Ross in which case then her heart wud preclude from sleeping with another man like most women today. Ross is the good guy of the series, a true gentleman, hard worked and loved by the workers and people he often defends, ok a bit tempered at times but deep down a good landlord of which there werent many of in 18th century Britain. The author has cleverly introduced probably common moral dilemmas of the time and our time into his books and noted reactions by people. Anybody can fall in love with someone

It was beautifully portrayed but nothing about infidelity is “beautiful,” especially when you are doing it to a person who saved your life. He wasn’t cute and honorable. He was a snake who slithered into a vulnerable woman’s life and attacked her ever weakness. He showed no remorse doing it. So please share the beauty from it? Do you want to be manipulated into doing something that’s against your principles? Granted Ross didn’t help… but beautiful is a stretch…

Women are the beloved and the men are the lover(it doesn't even get translated accurately to English) western modern "romance" is about how patient forgiving and devoted women are🙄 where in our fictions the man moves mountains for the girl he loves. I am always thinking why put up with so much humiliation?! Just go find someone that makes you feel good. @@shafaghb all facts! I do not understand it. Tbh I think the feminist movement had a lot to do with it. There were necessary battles to be fought on behalf of women, but it also had women thinking they should take on everything including things men did traditionally. It helped in some ways, but I think they went a little too far. Now, western women are more masculine and men are more feminine and personally, I don’t think it’s natural for a woman to chase a man. Even our biological nature shows this. The egg does not chase the sperm! It’s dangerous territory for a woman to love her husband more than he does her, and I think that’s Demelza’s dilemma.

Eu acho que o Ross e a Elizabet não dariam certo nunca ,ela era intereseira a Demelza sim sempre foi a mulher perfeita em tdo ,tanto que quando ele foi pra Londres ele deixou tdo nas mãos dela ,Ross idealizava um amor que não deu certo no fundo ele sabia que a Elizabeth não seria uma esposa simples ela queria riqueza fama na alta sociedade , nos Romances o amor verdadeiro é aquele que não deu certo que só vive de sonhosss,o Ross não era o marido perfeito pra Demelza e sempre traia ela e eu ficava com uma raivaaa sempre brigava com essa serie eu amei o mocinho que morreu , mas fazer o que esse Romance foi assim .

i sorry she was wrong if didn't love Ross she should've left him. Hugh, Falling in love with demelza, the wife of the very man who saved him, speak of his character. In a pragmatic world, demelza should've left ross. And ross shoul've moved on.
