I’ve got an EDM-830 in my 182 and I find it more useful to run up to 1700 RPM, let it stabilize, hit Normalize, then do the mag check watching even rise on the EGTs. Wait till you’re at 1700 RPM before entering Normalize mode so your EGTs don’t go off scale during the mag check. EGT will give you a more instantaneous indication of a problem (EGT on a fouled plug will not rise).
not sure if u will see this but when it shows a % with hp after is that the % of the power it at?
