great video
We have the same baler. Do 1500 to 2200 bales a year. Great baler
They sure are! With how few bales we make a year, our baler should last us a long time!
How you go up the silo chute without a hoodie so the feed doesn’t go in your hair and down your neck is beyond me. And nothing beats a tower ailo😅
🤣 the guys that were working on the one silo unloader last week said that to me, too. I just never do it. I never learned that way. I'd imagine it would get pretty hot wearing a sweater to climb silo. The odd time when it's really hot out or when the feed really bugs me I'll climb the silo with no shirt on, so then the haylage and heat doesn't bug me.
@@ourfarmstory no shirt…that’s even worse haha. I think a hoodie works great. Keeps the feed from falling on my head and going down my neck.
Great video!! As you have expended your acres you shoukd change your description of your channel from 170 acres to your current acreage! Good for you guys for expanding we just bought another farm this spring to in Ontario
Good catch. I forgot to update that! I'm glad to see that you guys are expanding to!
Congratulations on your award at the Eastgen Challenge 🎉
Thank you!
You don"t need GPS. You mowed a straight line across that field.
Just fir curiosity what brand of chopper and model did you have before this fp230 newholland
John deere it was a 3950. No processer. Worked alright it had a couple of breakdowns, but it was getting older and didn't have a processor.
Smaller dairy farmers are the Backbone !!!! long days and hard work. Great Family Life....
Great awesome video
H and s twin auger wagons are the only one's worth buying
I've heard good things about them. I've never seen one in Ontario yet. Lots of guys have either Dion, Meyer, or Miller Pro.
Good video of the morning operation. Would love to see the milking operation and about the herd.
I'll have to do that!
Expand slow, keep debt to a minimum 😊 happy farming
We run a newholland h7330 it a 2011 . It’s on its 13th year great mower
Very nice!
Hey, this is my first video of yours and I subbed. We just bought another 40 of pasture here in the Missouri Ozarks! Good move bud. Wish your family success...
Very cool! Thanks for watching!
Very cool! Thanks for watching!
Hey bro me and my brother watch your videos as they come out and we think your videos are awesome. You put such hard work and dedication into everything you do so you have nothing but sure admiration from us down here in the states in the south. Was born and raised on farms parents grandparents etc and certainly know that farm work is not easy work we wish you all the best on everything you do and congratulations on the expansion of your farm. Just one question what happened to heroes tonight we really love that song and we really miss hearing it in your videos. Take care of my friend.
Thanks for watching! I still have the heroes tonight, song saved on my phone. I will include it in the next video with drone footage for you now that I know it's in demand.
@@ourfarmstorythanks bro you rock !
glad you can add to the farm
Shit we're all dirt poor lol congrats guys
🤣 Glad to see it's a common problem.
Glad to see you expand 👍. Most daries downsize and sell their cows. That’s what we had to do because we had no choice. That was a hard day to see them go😢
Well run small dairy farm ! And you are a natural VJ !
Your BMR ever lodge badly in bad weather? I hear the standability of those hybrids isnt so good
Sometimes, but not often. Generally, every couple of years, we will have an issue with that. But the pros of BMR outweigh the cons for us, so that's why we grow it.
Your barn is so clean. Looks outstanding.
Ya need to start building your herd up so your making decent money every milk check, ya can"t just break even.
That's the idea. Fortunately, we do a little better than just break even...if we only broke, even we wouldn't have money to expend and grow.
Do you watch Hollcana farms videos I can’t wait to see it up a running😊😊
I do the odd time, but not every video. Don't have time to watch them all, unfortunately. They are making a nice setup over there!
Congrats on your first endorsement. Good job describing
Looks very handy, wish I had one😂
I guess I should have gotten them to send one of the viewers one to 🤣.
a lot of hard work
Closed herd, right ? Keep that DD away !
Yep! Haven't bought any cows in over 6 years now! The last one came from a closed herd.
Hope some day you make a video of catching some perch out on Lake Erie !
Always liked to cut with3255 jd. Thanks for the videos from 3255 man
Question for you, could you have taken the PTO shaft off the good wagon and put it on the wagon that you had to unload by hand?
The short answer is yes, but the shafts snap because of the weight. Years ago, during corn silage, we broke 2 shafts on the same wagon load, trying that. The last bit of the feed that is left on the wagon will get unloaded with the PTO shaft.
@@ourfarmstory That's some heavy load. Like watching your videos, I'm from central Wisconsin. I watch a lot of farming videos. I didn't grow up on one, wished I had.
You'll probably never see this my dad the owner of this account and would talk about your content right up until he passed Wednesday so I just wanted to tell you to keep going
He will be missed! I'm glad he enjoyed watching! My God, be with you and your family during this time.
We have 2 ih 710s. Ih made great plows
Great video
The ag bags are a absolute mess on a wet year. We were able to put up a tower silo a few years ago. Currently feeding out of 3 into a rissler TMR. So nice to not have to use plastic anymore.
I would really like another tower silo someday. It would be nice to have less baleage and ag bags.
@@ourfarmstory you’d be surprised at how much money you save when you put up a tower silo vs doing ag bags every year. The plastic, labour, fuel for an agbag isn’t getting any cheaper haha.
For sure! If I had a good spot for a 3rd silo and it was up to me, I'd build one. The ag bags definitely aren't my forever solution, but it works for a couple of years while we figure out how we would like to do things.
@@ourfarmstory yup that was the same for us. Just as long as you don’t do it forever.
Great Job !
We had a similar set up when we had cows. Always had a jd 3255 on the spreader, great tractor reccomend getting one
Can't beat those older john deere tractors! I don't think john deere made a bad 50 or 55 series john deere tractor!
You guys have a really nice little setup
Thanks! It works pretty well. The only downside is that it takes a couple of people to do chores.
Your grandpa or as you say "pake" 😄 I noticed that! Nice video. Greetings from the Netherlands!
I knew someone would pick up on that! Thanks for watching!
You should get a new Hollander discbine can’t beat em
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Ha ha packed the equipment shed a little too tight in last video
Sure did!
Yea weather doesn't always cooperate 😢
great looking animals
Thank you!
enjoyed
It’s the clutch plates/disc on that pickup head…. Very easy to change. I’ve had 3 different choppers do the same thing
Thanks for telling me! I'll have to look into that!
@@ourfarmstory Let me know how it turns out 👍🏽
Come on everybody hit the like button for him
Great ideo fair play 👏
When is the new 3 row free stall robot barn going up?
Someday 🤣. If mom and dad don't build it while they are farming, I'll build when I farm.
Like you said dic bine Sure in garbage I sure would trade it for sure 😢
Great video makes me miss the old days on the farm when i was young
Thanks for watching!
We bought a brand new John Deere S300 discbine, on its 4th season now, haven't had one bit of trouble with it. 10ft cut, flail conditioner, we run it on 65hp 4wd Deere a lot of times and even in hills it handles it. Has been a damn good machine so far zero complaints
Good to know. 10 feet is around the size we are looking for.
