Hello, Jesus said in John 3:5 except a man be born of water, and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Which is being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. Just as Titus 3:5 says that not by works of righteousness which we have done, but by his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. Water and Spirit. Also in Acts 19 King James Version 19 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7 And all the men were about twelve. Again, they believed, and then were baptized in Jesus name, and filled with the Holy Ghost. Also Paul the apostle, gives his account of his own baptism in acts 22: acts 22: 12 And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there, 13 Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him. 14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth. 15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard. 16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. ------------------------------------------------- And Paul saw Jesus, yet he still had to go to ananias, he did not yet have the Holy Ghost. Paul did not receive remission of sins, until he was baptized, and washed away his sins, just as the scripture declares in Acts 22:16..... You will speak in tongues and magnify God as the Spirit gives the utterance when you receive the Holy Spirit. That is just what happens, it is not the gift of diverse kinds of tongues, that is a gift in the church. This is simply a manifestation of power when you receive the Spirit of God. --------------------------------------------------------------- Romans 6 King James Version 6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. Amen baptized into Jesus Christ. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also. 1 Peter 3: 18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: 22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. --------------------------------------- Baptism saves us according to the bible. So what are you waiting for? Be converted, repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
