Lace Cutter
Переглядів 20 тис.10 років тому
This video demonstrates the use of the doughnut cutter that is much like the ones that the Argentine braiders use to cut their strings into various widths. I'm cutting some goat rawhide string for knots while demonstrating the cutter. Main hides that are used with these are goat rawhide, deer rawhide, horse rawhide and kangaroo rawhide.

    Hi, If you want to go to a more advanced tool try the tools made by whip maker, Dene Williams from Hodgsonvale in Queensland Australia. He hand makes them as a pair. one cuts the lace to width and is unique in that it can have its width adjusted as you cut, for when you cut a whip. The other tool thicknesses the strand so you don't have to try and flatten lumps caused by uneven lace thickness. They are the best I have seen or used. They are a few hundred dollars but worth every cent.

    What tool are you using to make the lacing?

    Great tutorial! currently working on a 7x9 On another note, your ability to hold 3 fingers straight and bend your pinky without your thumb baffles me.

    Its an bell jugglle so it doesnt need a strong splice!! but anyways i have arleady figured it out :D

  • @KnotHead1008
    @KnotHead1008 14 років тому

    @SthealthRaider I have never attempted what you are talking about with the Mathew Walker Knot. I do believe that deviating from the original splice construction will inherently make the splice much weaker.

  • @KnotHead1008
    @KnotHead1008 14 років тому

    @unserviam You should be able to do what you are talking about by constructing a shroud knot. A shroud knot would be the same knot, just built with two different sides of the rope. The Ashley Book of Knots has instructions for making a shroud knot.

    This is clearest Turks Head tutorial on UA-cam. I tied this relatively complex Turks Head in just a few tries. You should make more!
