    It's that one little wavery sound in the background that's always there. _That's_ the sound that makes it the Enterprise. I don't think I've ever heard that sound anywhere else.

    This is the original TOS sound effects tape that was stolen from Bjo Trimble during one of her conventions. She contacted me to see if I could get her a replacement, and of course, I gave her a massive upgrade! Don't know where her original cassette went to, but I think she was happy with what I provided her. :D

    I am without question, a huge fan of the original movies.. with that said, after rewatching the kelvin movies more than a few times, I do believe they have their own place in the Star Trek multiverse. This bridge ambience holds its own. I listen while reading my TOS novels. Most adequate. I listen to the original while working 🖖

    This seems to be the best version of the NCC-1701 bridge acoustics. Very relaxing. The creators of the star trek universe never realized that the ambient background sounds they created for the show would carry forward into the future so well as a stand alone relaxing video. WE REACH!

    I was 7 when Star Trek first aired in '66. I had two parents who were teachers. Of all the stuff on TV back then, this was probably the most intelligent and interesting thing available to look at. Even I knew that, despite the occasional NBC required silly monster now & then. But even after all these years... (um... 56... yikes!) I still marvel at all of the sounds that were developed back then for effects, especially the bridge sounds. For an old Trekkie like me, this is just like coming home in a weird, comfortable way. And it is especially satisfying to finally see the side of the bridge the camera (and us) had our backs to all the time. Of all the 1701 bridge simulations I've looked at this week, this one's the best IMHO. Thanks for posting this!! Well done!!

I read it and handed to my 'rocket club' buddies. I was a Trekkie two months before it came on TV! I'm 70 now..played an episode of TOS for my grandkids on their Amazon tablet. All these years and it's still fun to hear, "To boldly go where no man has gone before"

    I love the beauty shots of this version of the Enterprise in this clip. The Discovery show doesn't do it the same justice. This isn't actually the Strange New Worlds Enterprise. The new one is recognisable by the windows on the top, leading edge of the saucer, similar to the ones on the Enterprise D. New Polar Lights Kit of it is on the way.

    Very nice with the music and camera angles, and you even managed to make one of the most often bugged out rooms of the sto connie interior look good. Only nitpicky complaint is it looked like you were chilling outside Starbase 1 instead of getting an actual TOS era station to be in the background.

    • @pauld6967
      @pauld6967 2 роки тому

      Speaking of nitpicks,... per naval tradition, "Connie" would be the appropriate nickname for Commodore Matt Decker's ship: _U.S.S. CONSTELLATION._ She and _U.S.S. ENTERPRISE_ are both Constitution-class starships.

    • @peterhans3791
      @peterhans3791 2 роки тому

      @@pauld6967 valid point I suppose. It's still far more common to talk about star trek ships by their class though. Much like people will talk about the Oberth's propensity for explosions or the Miranda's propensity to save the federation more than the individual ships like the Grissom, reliant, lantree, or Macduf.

    • @pauld6967
      @pauld6967 2 роки тому

      @@peterhans3791 Well, Picard's Next Generation _STARGAZER_ is a Constellation-class, so that could be called a "connie." The only nickname for a Constitution-class in the U.S. Navy is "Old Ironsides" since the original frigate launched in 1797 is still in commission. The use of the name in the 1920s by two other ships became a non-starter. I think we can safely agree that in the Star Trek future there is a logical distinction between ships of the terrestrial ocean-going fleet and ships of Star Fleet.
