Hey, this was an enjoyable video, but as some constructive criticism, it feels more engaging if you look directly at the camera when you speak, it looked like you were looking at a script during the video, nothing wrong with that, but felt the video would have been more engaging if you were looking at the camera during those moments

The decision to use Hello Goodbye as the A-side and l Am The Walrus as the b-side is just laughable. McCartney and George Martin as good as they were didn't have the artistic vision John had.

"...good sounding words that sound good together..." Michael Stipe of R.E.M. was asked what the lyrics meant. He replied, "NOTHING. Everyone else in the band has notes and chords to play. As the vocalist, I need something on which to base the sounds that I make. The words don't mean ANYTHING. They are simply things for me to sing." So, all of you fans that are pouring over lyric sheets to comprehend the MEANING, are simply wasting your time! 😂

I want to thank you for your incredibly detailed analysis of the Beatles masterpiece, I Am The Walrus. I was the drummer in a local rock band when Magical Mystery Tour was released. I initially couldn't stand to listen to 'I Am The Walrus' as I thought it was just too chaotic to make any sense out of it and now that's what I totally love about it. SO, if I was going to suggest a Beatles' song, perhaps 'Tomorrow Never Knows' if you haven't covered it. That's another of John's tunes that I initially disliked but now thoroughly enjoy. Thanks!

"Just poetry" as if poetry has no meaning or intended meaning. John knows that it does. He also knows that foolish people take things literally and burn albums and make death threats for perceiving words as condemnations and thus condemning as a result. There is meaning in all John's songs, he was a very deep thinking guy. Even in trying to write nonsense verses he leaves meaning just by his intent. He also later goes onto write Glass Onion, and declares "The Walrus was Paul". Ok, nuff said.

One of my favorite things about this song is the subtle use of technology in the stereo version that makes this song even more surreal. In the middle of the song, a 2:02 you hear an interlude with a string ensemble and high pitched whining. People born after about 1965 (and who have never used short band radio) probably won't recognize what that whining is, but it is the sound of an analog radio dial tuner switching radio frequencies (i.e. channels). Now days with digital tuning and station lock, you don't hear that noise. After the end of interlude when the radio is tuned into another frequency, the song proceeds but now in monaural! The subtle and almost unconscious effect is that the listener is transported into another dimension -- from the dimension of stereo to the dimension of mono. From what I read this was by accident (because the radio background was recorded onto the mono track and couldn't be separated for stereo, so they just used the mono recording for the second half of the stereo version) but it has the brilliant effect of making this already brilliant surreal song even more surreal.

The Beatles have always been a big part of my life (I was born in 1967). In fact, when the Beatles Recording Sessions book came out in the 80s it spurred me to actually got to uni and learn audio engineering. I digested everything in that book. So their sessions and methods have been ingrained in me. TO understand how John Lennon put words together you need look no further than the recent Get Back film. There's plenty of examples of him messing around and throwing things together. I find part of this is down to his dyslexia, as I've known quite a few dyslexic people who have similar traits. But he also loved Spike Milligan and the Goons, as well as his influence by Bob Dylan. It's a big reflection of how some people were at the time.

Musically, I think walrus is Lennon’s most complex and beautiful composition. There are some wild chord changes and such cleverly timed melodies that put him in the same league as the greatest of classical composers. I recommend you listen to the anthology version which is a stripped-down outtake and you’ll see that even with just Lennon’s voice, an electric keyboard and drums the song is still a force of nature. I prefer the outtake to the release but my Beatles tastes are usually offbeat.

@@_MrAvocado_ it’s a 50-50 shot. How do you know they didn’t do that to make it seem like he sat down did some heroin and then decided you know maybe that isn’t enough I’m gonna do this. Sure you could simply make it look like he knew it was going to be gruesome, but try and make it less horrific if say a family member found him at the end of the day. We don’t know what anyone was thinking.

@@killroy2010 Perhaps he used the "bird shot" instead of a more powerful shell so the death scene would be less horrific for the family member or friend he would have assumed would find his body...which is also perhaps the reason for the "tidying up" instead of just having drug paraphernalia strewn all over the floor.

@ again possible, but one thing you’re not taking into account is the lack of blood if he was living or in a functional state of being there would’ve been much more blood at the scene and they’re just wasn’t not to mention. It’s pretty much been proven again you would have to do your research, but the gun was too big for him to shoot like that and some people argue he would do it with his big toe, but that’s not possible because he had shoes on. Also, the shell ejected on the wrong side of the gun. They’re just too many inconsistencies man. I’m not trying to sway your opinion, but i’m just pointing out what has been proven. Kurt Cobain was not a big guy 59 and that’s even questionable 57 I’ve heard and maybe 120 to 130 pounds from what I knew there was multiple times in the relationship where Courtney was bigger than himand stronger he even admitted this
