She’s a gorgeous dog 💕my German shepherd is the same way 😩

My dog won’t eat. I try to put a little cheese on it and sometimes she will eat it. I don't want to keep doing that. Sometimes, she will eat it if Hamburg is on it. But not all the time. I would do what you do and take it away, but she pukes if she doesn't eat.

Dealing with this at this very moment with my 20 month old Australian Shepherd , going to wait her out wish me luck, she’s stubborn . 😅

I am so happy I found your video today. I totally relate and it's the issue I'm having with my Sally. Please tell me the kibble that you use and also where you get the rabbit burgers and the quail treats. I had no idea to even look for stuff like that for my Sally.

Your picky poochie is much smarter than you think! Dogs may not be able to speak our language but their body language is clearly saying what they can't, "This food tastes bland. It barely gives me enough nutrition to continue living. Please understand me! Please feed me "real" food."

Imagine if you had to dry, flavorless rice cakes your whole life with a little spam spread on it now and then. Yuck! The parent threatens her dog, "if you don't eat your food, you won't have anything to eat..." She just rambles on and on expecting her dog to respond differently, completely ignoring the dog's body language. This dog is slowly dying because the food is bland and un-nutritious. No taste. No energy. No excitement for life. Just resignation. The owner (vet?) thinks antibiotics will cure the problem. You can't expect a dog to thrive on cheap, non-nutritious kibble. Feed your dog human-grade food and accept that good food costs more but your dog will love you for it and his/her reaction will be worth it.

Some people project their own attitudes onto their dogs. If a dog doesn't eat, they could be telling you they detect something unhealthy or unappetizing about the food. Would you make a child eat food they didn't like every meal? That seems mean to me. Listen to your dog. Observe their body language. My dog is much smarter about food than I was. He was a 'keto' eater. He didn't like any carbs, but he would eat sweet potato and broccoli. I've learned to accept and respect that he is too smart for junk food.

Why doesn't the owner serve food the dog likes? Poor dog has a lifetime of eating food she obviously hates to look forward to. BTW, kibble, like cereal, never gets an 's' added at the end.

You should not feed kibbles to dogs or cats . Not good for them

My miniature poodle refuses kibble. I’m going to have to do that, but I want to make sure she likes her kibble. She’s so fussy and would have definitely spit out the pill.

hi, i saw your video about Genie’s hunger strike two years ago. i’d like to know how that has changed for Genie. Did Genie start taking food regularly ever since the strike? My 8 month old puppy is currently going through that phase right now…

This was super helpful! I’m on day 4 pup (11 year old Japanese Akita - super stubborn) held out for a day and a half and ate her food and then held out for another day and a half before eating again. Did yours also do this at first as you were working through this strategy or did it start eating every meal immediately following the first feed after hunger strike?

My poodle is a picky eater too, but mostly because her nose & tummy knew something was wrong with various kibble i gave...then I watched Dr Karen Becker's "Pet Fooled" on youtube and i was shocked kibble is making dogs sick over time. Now I trust My Candy's nose and I feed homemade. I used the vet approved recipe from youtuber LoveLexyNicole. My poodle ate it up and has healthy coat and energy increased.

It works as long as you make sure they are drinking lots of water normally without vomiting. My dogs suffered from Parvovirus and we fed them plain, cooked shredded chicken for a while. After they got better, we went back to feeding them kibble and they would not eat their kibble for about 3 days. They did however, really love to get into the cat kibble and eat it when we weren’t looking, so we knew that the hard kibble texture was not an issue. We switched the kibble from chicken and vegetable flavor to salmon because we thought they were bored with their old kibble. They were curious about the new flavor but did not eat. They spat out the new kibble when we gently put it in their mouths. I looked for help and this was the only video that seemed real helpful, unlike the simple, bullet point and power point videos that look like they used Wikipedia. I regularly took the food away after giving them at least an hour to eat, they eventually became hungry enough to start eating on day 5. Even after they started eating, not all the food was gone like usual and sometimes they would skip breakfast but eat dinner completely. If you choose to try this, remember that I made sure they were drinking normally and often without vomiting. If your dogs are acting normal but still not eating by a week, I would say that’s a huge concern and you will probably have to start feeding them something they like if a veterinarian can not help you. Even 5 days for my puppies was a big scare. If they won’t eat either kibble nor cooked, non seasoned meat, then try gently and patiently feeding them non toxic to dogs baby food. Even if it takes a whole 30 minutes to 1 hour to feed them baby food, make sure they get enough nutrition and try again to get them to eat food by themselves. Be very patient and kind to your dogs.

I think this is a poodle thing with every poodle I meet. Mine is still a puppy only 6 months old and it sucks Bc I don’t wanna have to not feed him for days to get him to eat :( will it stunt his growth?

Dry food means they also need lots of water. Lots! It is very dehydrating. I don’t think people are given enough of a warning about how dehydrating it can be. She is absolutely adorable.
