Van Camping, Fishing, Hiking
Dispersed Van Camping Daniel Boone National Forest // I Had The Worst Camp Neighbors
This was my 1st time visiting Indian Creek in Daniel Boone National Forest. Big Breakfast for dinner. Absolutely beautiful area. Unfortunately terrible noisy camp neighbors but it was still a nice trip.

My 1st time booking and staying at a place using the hipcamp app(no affiliation or sponsorship) I stayed in a nice campground in Henry County with my dog Anna. Attempted to fish a new creek for some dinner but thankfully brought a backup meal. Beautiful creek side campsite and a great overnight trip.

Nice video..The ammo can fire was really cool..Can you share how to build it please? Also what campsite was this? Thanks
I live in Louisville - help a sis out!
Fun fact those lifetime coolers are bear resistant certified
❤
wow very interesting fire pit I like it nice video as well, so you should post how you built it , and how long is the burn time , would love to build one my self.
Like what you have done with your build . Been looking at different videos to get ideas for a build on my 01 gmc 3500 I recently acquired ( with tons of room in the back ) .
Thank you for sharing!
Good job I’m impressed 👍
H A T C H I N O K O I.
What part of Indian creek is this? To think your expectations were unrealistic. Everyone camps in KY. To have it by yourself would be a miracle. Is that Rockcastle or Jackson County? You definitely aren't from that area, that face paint would not make you inpopular in that area with allnthe tweakers who steal on the daily. ust sayin. Yes, those are stocked trout. Be careful most septic empty into that body of water
Love your parenting style man. “Are you proud of that?” And “see? Happens to me too”. Two very important mentalities and lessons taught in a low risk and fun environment. Thanks for sharing!
I'm in Kentucky and I want to get into the van life if I can afford it lol
Heck yeah
Nice build Sir
Dope build mane
thanks for sharing , keep it simple and build it Quality
Cheap and simple ;-)
Hell yeah dog
Love it! I have the same van! Starting my build. Wish me luck! ❤😊
Good luck!
Just like to make a comment. I’m not trolling this is something I found out the hard way. The mattresse on the plywood it needs either holes in the plywood or something to let airflow under it. Regardless of how you keep the van dry you will get mold on the bottom of the mattress. Some places will make it happen faster then others. Very nice build I have a Chevy express 2500 I’m working on now. My family growing up used to own a motorhome dealership. So my best memories are in anything mobile. My Dad bought a 26’ Apache class C . Next thing you know president carter messed up. We could only get gas on certain days. It was crazy but hard times don’t last hard men do. You really have a nice platform at a fraction of the cost of the crazy commercial market. If people ever realized how bad trailers and motorhomes are built nobody would take their family in them. Lol. The best way to go is van or bus. I just wish I could find a fiberglass roof. Since the UA-cam van life craze. The parts that used to be cheap are now hard to find or people think they have a gold mine and don’t wanna sell stuff for what it’s real value is. At least that’s what it’s like on the east coast.
No worries as far as the mattress is concerned planning on redoing the bed but I have had it this way for a year now the wood is sealed and the mattress has a protector on it so far no mold anywhere in the van
Obviously those people with the generator and dogs don't care about anything but themselves...😡Hopefully that is the exception and not the norm for your camping trips! Beautiful area, though.
Yes thankfully I haven’t ran into this other places at least not yet lol
Take a clothes, hanger, porta par, flip it and keep to her put a hook in like a candycane. Take a stanchion cord put the wires flip the wires, put it on each end of the alcove, the candycane wire, then tape it all put a 6 feet apart with your grass and you’ll get plenty of worms. It will not hurt the worms. It just make them come out of the ground. It’s awesome just don’t be barefoot it.
I usually just buy them at the store but the local shop was out of stock this morning
Indian Creek is always busy. To find a quiet spot, you need to backpack in on one of the many trails, on a weekday, ideally.
Weekends at Red River Gorge are crowded. Weekdays are pretty empty. You probably would have done better driving farther down the road. That camping area is notorious for bad neighbors.
I’ll definitely check out more places next time I’m in the area. This was my 1st time visiting Indian Creek.
My brother has a neighbor who doesn't pay his electric bill every other month. His work around is to run his generator from his garage and run an extension cord to the house. Needless to say we hate him lol. Beautiful spot you had thanks for sharing brother!
Thanks for watching!
I do this all the time I even got my son to start doing it lol
That’s awesome!
How did you even see that little guy
I actually saw him when I was driving in the other lane and turned around to get him across the road safely
Yes indeed
Yes love it With the head, heading in the direction it was going. Thank ya 😊
Always! I love turtles
I do alot of this in the summer. Ps if their heading across the road take them to the side there going dont restart them by putting them on the same side they came from. Hes still gonna cross the road
Your Absolutely right
Nice job
Thank You
Nice!! It looks like a great time with your beautiful family!
Thank you it was a fun weekend
So much fun hangin with you and the family! Y’all are awesome. Also, lil homie blowing off those noodles 😂. The lips and the sound had me dead 😂 ☠️
😂😂😂 right he was cracking me up blowing on every bite like that I had to get a little video. They’ll be grown one day but I’ll still have these to look back on.
That is a beautiful peaceful place to camp and awesome that it’s free. I’m sure your children will appreciate the memories. Quality time spent with them is so valuable especially showing them a way to quiet their minds in such a loud crazy world. It’s sweet to see your children holding hands as they walk and I didn’t hear much fussing (unless you’re really good at editing it out 😂) Anna seems to really enjoy it too. The ticks are bad this year. We’ve already had a few just here at home.
They definitely fight from time to time haha but always look out for each other. We have a good crew😊. Ticks are already out for sure. Tick prevention is priority this time of year. Thanks for watching!
Take a drive up to Illinois to the Shawnee National Forest. Bell Smith Springs and Garden of the Gods especially. An eclipse passed there in 2017 and another one is coming 8 April 2024. X marks the spot.
Garden of the gods in on my list for the year just trying to find a date it’s a 4-5 hour drive from me.
Good times! Your family will remember this! I have great memories of camping with my brother and parents. We would drive across the country (from California to North Carolina) to see my grandparents and camp as we went. Looks like this was a pretty good camping area. 😀
That’s sounds like a fun trip. We loved Buzzards Roost.
Great video man. Nothing better than making memories with the family.
Thank you!
Hope everyone that watches enjoys the video I’ll be on here till 11 AM est replying to comments.
Good morning UA-cam
Well thought out & functional build. I like the rod holder idea. Kudos.
Thank You

That’s awesome! Always good to get out rain or shine.
Great to see you out with family, now that weather is getting better.
It’s was great be out. Thanks for watching!
Welcome back dude
Thank you!
By the way I love your van. It is absolutely fantastic.
Thank you!
You are a fantastic man. I am from Kentucky originally, born and raised there. I moved in 2012 to Florida.
Thank you. That’s awesome! My wife and I grew up in Southern Indiana but made the move to KY back in 2018
Digging it! The racks on the back doors was a neat idea!
Thank you!
I really like the awning!! Will you share a link or where you got it and the size? Amazon?
It’s a Maxi Trac awning sold through Napa Auto Parts. They are fairly budget friendly in comparison to other brands. I got mine for around $120
Beautiful! Great job. Enjoy
Thank You!
