I live in Athens Greece with my future husband and our Dalmatian, Jesse. I have over 250 potted plants spread in my house, staircase, balconies and backyard. I love having plants around, watching them grow, blossom, propagate, help them recover. I love to decorate my living space with plants, it can make any space come to life.
I started the channel on the pandemic as a way to keep myself busy and also to share my experiences with other plant lovers.
More than half of my plants are rescued, these are the plans I'm the most proud of. But some plants can't be rescued. I'm sharing these experiences so people can learn from my mistakes as well as from my successes.
When someone leaves me a comment letting me know that my video was helpful it really makes my day. If you are enjoying my channel, please use the comment box to interact.

How I saved a Ruby Ficus from the dumpster - part 1
We were going out to meet with some friends and we saw this guy on the street near a dumpster. After we drove with it all over the city, we finally bought it home. Since then, I've been taking care of it. Hope you enjoy this video!

😍😍😍
This morning I had the same thought in my mind to buy Indian Chilli flakes from Supermarket and try on my Heat mat propagator. Hopefully it will work. It looks like, Indian Chilli, which is usually long, like fingers. Did your grow any chilli? If yes, after how long?
Check this: ua-cam.com/video/ZidTttmGEag/v-deo.html I grew successfully African Hot pepper. In my shorts I also have an update to it. Thanks for watching and plant with love! 💚
@@iedenchannel My Tesco KASHMIRI chilli flakes started sprouting 🌱
@@SSUKBD that's great! 💚
Well bummer. I used to use chili flakes on the front porch to keep the squirrels off it. I thought maybe i could sprinkle them around in the garden to keep the stupid tree rats from digging up my plants. Looks like i'll have to find another solution to this problem.
I repoted my 20 years old dracanea into different soil (compost, coconut coir and perlite). I masaged the roots and removed old soil without making damages. The plant since a month is dropping and yellowing leaves. From a nice bushy plant there are only few leaves left. It has new shots but they did not grow since repotting. The soil is still moist so it wont be water issue. I misted the leaves for a week but there was no improvement. What can i do to help recover? Please anyone advise, i love my plant and dont want to lose it.
In my experience Dracaena is not a plant that likes moist soil, I only water mine when the top soil is comply dry and even then not too much water. 1st check your new pot drainage, maybe it doesn't have a proper one. 2nd replace the moist soil with a dry one, at least half of it if you can not replace all. If the drainage is ok, put some kitchen paper under the pot and replece it when gets wet (will absorb the water excess). Place it in a spot with light, if possible toward east, the morning sun is not damaging the leaves. Water once per week. Good luck! 💚
@@iedenchannel Thank you for the reply. The drainage should be ok as always make an extra holes in the pot. I don't want to change the soil as it will disturb the roots even more. When repotting in the past I never removed the old soil from the roots only was going for the bigger pot, this time I removed all old soil. The plant is over 2 mt tall. I can say the tallest branches are more affected than the lower ones. It seems that plant is not able to deliver the water up high. I also thought that perlite could affect it. I always used general potting soil and the plant thrived well. All branches are affected but no new shoots, however this seems to stop growing. I misted the leaves for some time but no improvement. I hope it will recover. Could it be a transplant shock?
I am not sure if the damage is only from repotting, I think it might have something to do with the new conditions: pot, soil, water, light.
I cut all the leaves off my dracena because they were brown and dead…can the plant be saved?
If all the leaves were already dead there is not much hope. Sorry! Try to cut a piece and see if you can propagate
@@iedenchannel okay thank you 🙏🏾
Update
You’re the best! Thank you<3
Update? I'm nervous because I keep hearing multiple things on what to do and I'm scared because one of them is cutting it down to a certain point and then the other is your video here where you don't cut it and I want to see the difference in recovery
Mine it didn't survived, unfortunately. But the reason was that we left it in the yard with that one leaf (it was too big to take it with us) and we left the house to spend the winter in our downtown apartment. We couldn't come back for few months because of the lockdown and that was the coldest winter in Greece in the last 60 years. I have another one now that grows spectacularly. Maybe a solution for your dilemma would be to cut a branch and try to propagate and leave the rest of the plant to see if it will recover. Because if the plant is dying, even the propagation might not be successful, unfortunately. I saved many plants during the years, but I also failed to save few that were too damaged. I really hope you'll save your plant, please keep me updated and good luck!

Sorry for that, it was one of my first videos. I hope I'm better now 😊
What kind of soil are you using? Can I use miracle grow potting mix? I recently bought a small one of the Medinilla Florinilla “Arosa” and I want to repot but wasn’t sure if I have to use an orchid bark or just regular potting soil.
The mix should be fine. The soil should be light, but not 100% orchids. You can mix some of that with some garden/forest soil (if you have the possibility) and a part of that light soil you can find in a flower shop (the name is different from a country to another).
@@iedenchannel Thank you for responding. What do you mean by light soil?
@@christinebaker550 the soil you buy from stores is not so dense like the garden one, therefore is not so heavy is lighter on the roots
Yes

Thank you so much I had no idea what was happening. Everything you said was true. It was not in a light place and I thought it just needed more water. I am going to put dry soil on the bottom like you said and pray that it will revive. Hod bless. Thank you.
I hope it will be fine. Please keep me updated! Thank you for watching and plant with love! 💚
In the sunlight you killing it!! directly in the sunlight she’s going to die for sure, younger plants can not resist in direct sunlight
That was happening in December, not so much sunlight
Thank you so much for sharing this. You gave me hope that I can revive my ailing lemon lime dracaena and that really makes me feel good. My plant is more then 15 years old and I have had a love hate relationship with it along the way. You have showed me what I have done wrong with it and I'm going to go right now and help nurse it back to health!
I am so happy that I could help! 💚
