Audi a3 head unit upgrade, no power to stereo / not turning on.
Even with the correct iso harness the stereo will not power on, typically audi's do not have a ignition live available for the stereo so you need to find one, typically this is done by taking a feed from a fuse.
But if your in a rush and want a quick fix you can take a feed from the stereo live and connect it to the stereo ignition.
The stereo will then power on regardless if the vehicle is on or not.
Just remember not to flatten your battery!
Will update with a video for taking a ignition feed from a fuse soon!

audi a3 stereo upgrade no rear speaker fix!
Переглядів 23 тис.2 роки тому
Well after 5 days and multiple harnesses, trial error and hardwiring is the way forward. If you've fitted an aftermarket stereo and lost the rear speakers here is what you need todo. Connect the rear left to the yellow wire on the green plug and the rear right to the green wire on the green plug. Do not connect the rear negatives - You now need to connect a ground wire to the grey wire on the g...
Top man just spent £90 on one of them connects 2 iso leads to get the steering wheel to work as well as the rear speakers thanks to your video I’m not going back to the shop to moan cheers bruva
Glad it helped.
Awesomeness
Worked like a champ. Got the rp4-ad11 for my 07 A4 with symphony system and they have the preouts on thar green block. So I cut the yellow and green wires off the block and connected the yellow to my violet positive and the green to green positive from my new unit and verified my remote sub connection was hooked up and BAM! Rear speakers and sub! Saved me days
I just installed the awesafe unit and it works great except for the rear speakers in my 2008 enclave without premium sound. I fade fully rear with volume all of the way up and still nothing. Stock head unit worked flawlessly. I don’t have rear amps as far as I know. Wiring diagrams don’t claim there is anything in between the head unit and speakers.

What do I do with the negative leads for Rear Left and Rear Right? I can connect the positives to Green and Low, but also the low end wont come out of the speakers unless one of the negative leads connects to the ground. But then only low end comes out of one speaker etc.
Don't connect the speaker grounds.
How can i get 100% good ground?
Trial and error really check all ground points are clean not rusty and tight make sure the iso plug is firmly clipped together. I had an audi previously were I had to use the fader to balance the front and rear speakers, remember the rear is amplified so you may want to lower DB, driver postion or fade to front.
Thank you!!!
Thank you soo much .But i turn the igniton on and my rear speakers ar buzzing ... What is the problem? :(
Possibly a bad ground / loop

how can i get a good ground ? @@cryptocarscomputers2327
So the ground from the green plug needs to connect to the ground connected to the quadlock?
Struggled for months you sir are an absolute legend of the highest order haha
Lol cheers dude
You sir, are a fucking genious🤘🏻
Absolute Legend!
Hello friend, got the same problem
Great video. Where did you get the adapter. I cant see em anywhere for my a3 2004 cabriolet with the concert cd player
Hello mate! I need really help.. I have gren and blue plug, so how I need to connect blue plug?
But I don't have a white wire on the back.
I got confused, didn’t understand where blue wire goes?
Haha mate this is a great video. I'm literally in your shoes when you made this but I'm only 2 days into this mess. You've saved me a whole bunch of experimenting! If you want I have audi's diagram for OEM's radio connection to the amplifier (this connects to the rear doors speakers), it'll show the connection you made. However you clearly don't need it as you've solved the issue yourself.
hi, can you send me this? would save me much time
@@L3xTRoNStyl3ez Hi just saw this, send me your email.
Hey mate i need this Diagram asap!
Hello sir, what if I only have the green wire on the green plug ?😢
The green and yellow wire from the green plug are left and right. So I'm not entirely sure on how to advise you currently. Do you not have any other wires in it? Is it just literatly the one green wire?
Unfortunately, just green wire
Before I had an aftermarket Navi, the rear speakers worked well, I bought the original Audi navigation, just plug and play and the rear speakers are not working, so in other words they worked before the original
@@lyxx367 sounds to me like the original harness has already been modified to run your old aftermarket, it's going to be a process of elimination I'm afraid without being there I'm clueless plug the old stuff back in to start identifying what wires do what.
Well guys my audi met an unfortunate end. Good new is I have another on the way bad news is it's a single din stereo. So expect a single din to double din conversion video this summer.
Sorry about that mate, looking forward to the conversion as those can also be a headache.
@@mack6958 hoping to order the bits soon not looking it tbh but I'll get there 😂
Sorry to hear that... What happened to the Audi?
You are a star mate ! You deserve a drink ! I drive for more then 4 years without rear speakers! I was thinking to sell the car :) But now … I have rear speaker baby ❤
Happy days mate glad it helped.
Perfect mate I have now got my rear speakers sub and amp working 🙂
Excellent happy days mate
U sir are a legend fixed my issue with ur video
Glad it helped dude
@@cryptocarscomputers2327 ihave noticed i get a little bit of distortionon just the rear right speaker tho any ideas ? either way ur vid was a massive help matey
Good job. Great help. Less confusing that many other postings on the same subject. Should not be that difficult. Took me days checking here and there until I decided just follow ur directions and finally got sound all over. Still noisy, but there is hope.
We would get along better
Thank you, I followed your instructions and the rear speakers are now working. But when I connect the grey wire to ground there's a buzzing sound from the speakers when the radio is off and the key is removed from the ignition. The only way to get rid of the buzzing sound is to connect the ground to the negative wires of the rear speakers which makes the rear speakers very loud but gets rid of the buzzing sound. Please assist. Your feedback will be highly appreciated.
No key radio off sounds to me like the live and ignition live are the wrong way round. Typically yellow and red. Switch them over so red to yellow etc And test that... Otherwise I'm unsure could be a dodgy connection or a previous feed were the wires mint or has someone been in there before.?
With all due respect & credit towrds Mr. Hancock without a doubt for his plethora of work. Yet we should all expect more & better from those like him tbh. Not this hippie boomer BS.

to some metal of the car
Where do you plug the ground?
Grey wire to ground
Hello, is your blue wire on unit from antenna or amp ? Because my aftermarket unit doesn't even have a remote amp wire but i have a blue wire which is antenna ..
Antenna is often the same as remote iirc
@@xXIvanBenkovicXx without seeing it I wouldn't like to say...
@@xXIvanBenkovicXx post it all on the audi forums and put the link here dude.
@@cryptocarscomputers2327 okay man, thank you but i figured it out, my rear speakers are working, thank you for everything
but so is the amplifier always powered?
No comes on when the stereo is turned on.
I love u dudeeeee
Heh thanks bro. Knew I couldn't be the only one. 🤣
Mine appears to be a little different but the same problem and I’m pulling my hair out
Yeah noticed there's several types tbh I found resources for most the others just not this one the audi forums have some good info.
