A CLASSIC!! A MUST every Christmas! Priceless, just priceless!
Rest in peace Dad! You were one hell of a good mechanic and a wonderful Dad😢
i have raised my kids on this version. my oldest just called to ask what this guy's name is so he could look it up
Heart warming rendition
I love how the guitarist tenaciously hangs in there
This is brilliant,
I love. Him
I lost it at Duck!
This has become one of my annual Christmas traditions for years now.
😂🎄🧑🎄thanks. Enjoyed this very much. Bless his funny heart. 💞
God bless those truckers 😊
Thank you all the truckers east bound and down
I´m a truck driver in Germany for 32 years. I´m 60 now and I know this song for almost 50 years. Some years ago my son was with me on the road and we heard this song on the radio and couldn`t both hold back our tears. He became a truck driver like me but unfortunately he died five years ago at 29 years with brain cancer. Jan, we´ll meet again, God bless you!
USS Tang SS 563 1965-1968 We
First time I ever heard this, I was at my sister's house with headphones (not ear buds) & I was laughing so hard (not sure I ever laughed so hard before or since). & the guitar is jacking up right along with him.
Heard about Cox thru *Blind Man's Bluff*. Who else who can claim they sung submarine country? Love it
USS George Bancroft SSBN 643 Blue - Thank you for posting Tommy's songs. Have a Blessed day.
They're not wearing hearing protection or what?!?! The age before the internet was wild!!!

I am in my 70's i love country and western music, but in my years i had never heard Teddy Bear now i listen to it over and over cant get enough it
Vibranium
OMG What an awefull appauling tune, cheap over the top sentimental rubbish the kind of tune that makes people vomit. Can't believe people would buy this soul destroying nasty rubbish .possibly the worse kind of music in existance.
Jimbo Sales is a Talented Man!
Great Song!!
it will take a lot of money and time to refit these steel beasts but I just have one question for China and Russia: are you sure you want a piece of that?
And that’s the thing: if we were to ever reactivate the floating museums and retrofit them with modern tech but retain the 16” guns, we’d just need to have one leading the fleet and all enemy ships would bug the fuck out of the area
I was an EM on Fulton Site, YC battery locker, weapons operator on the yd 208 there, in 86 & 87, then on the ytb 834 until 89. Spent many a day tied to that ship on a small boat doing ship's stores, begging for a burger 😅
I used to hear a Gospel group sing this on Sunday morning radio. Were they covering his song or is he covering theirs?
My left ear enjoyed this

You can intercept a rocket, you can intercept a missile, but try to intercept a SHELL
You are absolutely correct. This is why some people are asking if it makes sense to bring them back. You can't electronically jam a bullet that weighs as much as a vw bug travelling at mach Jesus
@@lonelydrewthen add rockets but less explosives to the shell and make it travel at hypersonic speeds💀💀
@@lonelydrewFor this reason, the advancements of missile and rocket defence systems I genuinely think in the years to come large caliber gun ships will start to make a return in some capacity
CIWS could do that, so long as they can detect the shells while they're in flight. I would reason they can, considering they're already able to intercept missiles and high-speed aircraft
Actually, it is not that hard, plus, the shells have predictable trajectory.
I served on her proudly❤😊
My mom love this song god bless🙏
My mom love this song❤
Habitual Linecrosser brought me here

I am a Man, that can disassociate and emotionally deattch himself from almost everything without even a blink of an eye. But this song and Teddybears Last Ride. Can definitely bring me to such a emotional state of mind I break down and cry every time I hear either of those songs.
1:31 to 1:36 love the dog bark in the background
Whatever happened to Foster Brooks ? Is he still alive today, and if not when did he die ?
He passed on in 2001.
Oh my mom collected teddy bear and fhis somg for and old man that used to drive truck and many my friends do and some my telatives
Chrimus isn here til Fosser Bu-h Fosser Brooks ss sins zis! Real Thick,
I dont really see how these are obsolete when most missles are taken out by anti missle defenses but these rounds are literally 5k pounds and are mostly lead so how does a little missle destroy a 5 thousand pound chunk of lead filled with explosives?
Except they're not literally, or even figuratively, 5,000lb shells. The heaviest standard one weighed in at 2,700lbs. And they're not lead, but various alloys of steel, depending on the shell type. You could fire missiles all day long for less then the cost of just keeping the lights on, the boilers fired, and 1,800 sailors fed on an Iowa class ship.
Not to mention that the guns are mechanical and therefore makes them EMP proof
'kin hell this is a terrible song.......
Beautiful old girl. Remember the Wisky
Never heard of him, but this is wonderful hic.x
Woke up with a hang over the day after visiting the New Jersey. I assumed it was caused by viewing so much American diplomacy.
God... Back when I was still in broadcasting, I wore out four or five 45s spinning this on country music shows... That was before the New York crossover plan was implemented to destroy real country and start calling rock and roll the new country... They don't make these anymore...
