East Haven has it's own sustainability strategy which links with local and national priorities and global sustainable goals. Every action counts and makes a difference. Just do it!

Volunteers have worked tirelessly over 2 weeks to remove tonnes of waste on this beach which lies adjacent to a SSSI. More than 100 volunteer hours and still all of this on 15.4.23. The people of Angus working together across communities to try and reduce the devastating impact of all this marine waste.

Volunteers are needed on Saturday 8th April at 10am to pick up all the small plastics and polystyrene that we had to leave behind last weekend. Meet in car park next to football pitches down at Monifieth seafront at 9.45am and we'll travel down to Barry Buddon for a safety brief in convoy.

Video showing the extent of the beach litter sink at Barry Buddon. Masses of marine litter is washed up on this hard to access beach. Large numbers of volunteers would require vehicular support at least monthly to remove the amount of marine litter which washes up in this remote location.

Thanks to a resilient grant from SSEN the community of East Haven have been able to purchase their own solar powered lamp posts.

This video has been created to evidence the level of waste deposited by contractors on NCN1 Elliot during works to upgrade the path and prevent flooding. The waste comprises large plastics including sanitary fittings, plumbing parts and industrial plastics.
