Thanks for your videos! About 20 years ago I crushed the knuckle in my left index finger. I used to be a 12 guitar player in a band. But, I remembered the CBGs when I was playing on the streets of New Orleans back in the 60s. Some were 1 string Diddlley Bos and some were 3 or 4 strings. I went back to playing a CGB. I can still play 6 string but I can only barre chord because of my left index finger. There is always a way to play a CBG. I am almost 80 now. Anyone who wants to play should try one. There are building a playing classes at the John C. Campbell Folk school.

Some may find this a little more challenging.

I too have similar fingers to yours as well, gets worse day by day. I'm still persisting with play chords, but I don't play as long as I use to (probably an hour at most, or till I have to stop) enjoying the lessons, never new Mungo Jerry had so many songs, a new discovery for me at 70yrs old 🎸🤘👍

Thanks for sharing! As an occupational therapist, I appreciate modifying how you play so you can keep playing! I just started learning to play several years ago. My fingers are beginning to hurt in my old age. It's time to learn how to play slide CBG so I can keep playing as my fingers get worse!

've had that too. Check the scale of the guitar. The distance from the first fret to the twelfth fret should be the same as the distance from the twelfth fret to the center of the bridge. You can also increase the action a bit. I then went to eat an ice lolly and placed the stick of it under the bridge to increase the action a bit.

Hopefully I'm back on track to make the next two videos, before I can get home to make a proper more professional repair.

Hi CB, I began using your American Idiot tabs to learn on my cigar box, and I was wondering if you could consider giving The Cranberries 'Zombie' a bash for a later video. I've been looking for a decent cover or tab online, and so far I've only found one that sounds good by ClarkyGuitar on UA-cam, but he doesn't have any tabs to replicate it. I also appreciate your efforts to assist cigar box guitar players. There isn't enough exposure or tabs for this instrument online. So I appreciate it!
