Paul Heaton Live Gig Review - Brian Davidson
Paul Heaton requires little introduction. From fronting The Housemartins to The Beautiful South and latterly a solo career, his back catalogue of work is filled with gems, songs that have and will stand the test of time. Throw in the fact that he genuinely cares about the fans, capping tickets at the Hydro and other similar sized venues around the country at £35 per person, true socialist values, a love of football and crisp packets and a sharp sense of humour, a couple of hours in Paul's company sounds like the perfect night.
Into Creative's Brian Davidson did exactly that. Hear his views on the gig and an interesting suggestion on how to honour this amazing singer-songwriter.

Peter Capaldi at Stereo Review by Brian Davidson.
Переглядів 17828 днів тому
Most people will know Peter Capaldi as the twelfth Doctor Who and as Malcolm Tucker from the political satire, The Thick Of It. But there is a whole lot more in his arsenal. A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, Capaldi first came to prominence as the singer/guitarist in the post-punk band The Dreamboys which also featured Craig Ferguson. Fast forward forty odd years and the actor is returni...

The intoxicating beauty of Sister John's music comes across so well in record format but how does it translate to the live experience? Into Creative went along to their recent gig at The Old Hairdressers in Glasgow to find out. This is Brian Davidson's verdict on the best kept musical secret coming out of Scotland.

Now, we like to do things differently from time to time over here at Into Creative Towers and we've certainly done that with our next review. Hopped on a plane to Scandinavia, ending up in Solna which is just outside of Stockholm, Sweden to see the legend that is Bruce Springsteen in concert along with The E Street Band. Not only that, but we've decided to do this review by video!

We Could Send Letters: The Bluebells - Orienteering
I'd have loved to have actually seen it, as opposed to hearing about it.
I saw Paul Heaton at Coop Live in Manchester last night. What a great gig at a fantastic venue.
Everyone involved should take a bow
Thank you for this! I would love to see Peter do a gig
When people say they love the 80’s and quote Duran or spandau….they just show ignorance of true talent like this ❤❤
Class is permanent ❤❤❤
Oh! Guys! Thanks for this! One of the catchiest tunes of the 80's. Nicely done!
Just transcends conventional song writing, what an incredible talent with that voice of an angel from Hazel
Wonderful. Pure Talent.
This song is a real favourite of mine. Beautiful version guys. Mx
Simply wonderful! Well done guys.
Fantastic 🕺
Watching Hamish get so animated about words and lyrics is such a pleasure. A true craftsman.
This song makes me love music all over again
Lucky you to be in the pit. I just saw Springsteen here in Washington DC last night and it was fabulous - very much like your experience in Stockholm!!!
@@lindabruce2295 thanks for watching the review Linda, and glad the gig was fab ( never in doubt 😎) Saw you got Darkness too - not jealous at all 🙄
Great review, thanks. And what a set list, I might go on his website and buy this concert.
Thank you ! Would be a great listen if you can get a copy 👌
Also, for info only... the last time the original E Street band played with its original numbers was on the the 2009 tour. The last with Danny was in 2008. This extended band is superb but no way should a new fan think this is the way it started. 😊 long may he continue to provide such stellar uplifting concerts.
The E Street Band has always been changing. Vinny Lopez, David Sancious were on 1st album Fererici joined for the Wild album Roy B & Max W joined for the Born To Run Album ( and Miami steve on backing vocals!) Then Lofgren post Born In USA ( plus Patti) The only constant in the band from first album until today is Gary W Tallent. Its always been a moving feast, and is arguably more settled now than it’s ever been 😁 ( and it’s outstanding)
@BrianDavidson-r4b you are so right..I even own a David Sancious album..and so should have remembered that. I would have loved to have seen that E Street Band!! Bruce is the only person I ve gone to see every time he tours ..whatever shape the band takes..and his solo stuff as well..Never fails to be a rewarding experience. These last two tours contain more regular set lists..but I love it all. Sunderland nearly did for him though!!!
Have to say Waiting On Sunny Day was a staple sing a long for quite a while ..in the era when kids in the pit would sing a long with him. ...and when somebody wd try and get onstage during Dancing In The Dark part.
It was - but hadn’t been played for a number of years. As an aside - I saw him in Sunderland on this tour as well when he played Sunny as the first track ( the weather was biblically bad) . Not lost his sense of humour…
♥️
Passionate Review. Youngstown is a fantastic song.

Hamish is the freshest talent to come out of Scotland for years.
I once had a (now long lost unfortunately) demo tape of Bluebells songs with a wonderful slowed down version of happy birthday. Was that ever released?
This was capture a month into the first lockdown. ua-cam.com/video/ajdREdbq8f8/v-deo.html
@@IntoCreative Ah that's magic, thanks!

1st concert I ever went to at the Ice Rink in Inverness in 1982 or thereabouts - always retained a soft spot for The Bluebells ever since..😀

Friends Again's album is a F. Masterpiece!
I did not know if they were still performing. Wow they still have talent.

Yes indeed
Brilliant! Loved the Bluebells back in the day, loving them even more now
Simply stunning 😊
A brilliant interview and love hearing all Paul's stories
Great interview! Not everyone was on the dole - I had to clock-on at 7.30 am, then again before 1230 (lunch) and then clock off at 4. I was working the entire time, serving 2 apprenticeships: one as an electrician, the other as a Wild Swan!
