IUD - mirena and kyleena - were the two I had inserted. They’re indeed very efficient as birth control and for period issues, problem is what they can do to the skin. I took mine out and I had a looooong battle with the melasma they caused me.

Sorry for what might be an impertinent question- but I see everywhere that if you get it put in on day 1-7 of your cycle a hormonal IUD is effective straight away but at any other time it's not effective for 7 days- does this mean if you were to get it in on day 28, a day before your period it's not as effective on day 1 as it would if it were put in a day later? Is this because it disrupts the period/hormones you would otherwise have on day 1?

The copper coil on the iud was deteriorated after tens years upon removal. The copper was in pieces and mostly gone and you could tell very brittle. Will my body remove naturally? What effects will this have if trying to conceive? Thx

It might only be .8% chance of pregnancy.. but when it does happen the risk to baby and complications is much much higher. With other forms of contraception when they fail the baby isnt at risk near as much. Eg pill, condoms, diaphram so you can safely continue the pregnancy.

It moves and you dont know!!! Its not reliable because you have no idea it its in the right place. Checking the strings isnt reliable test. 4 months with copper IUD and im pregnant. Never again.

I have Kylenna IUD for over a year now. Although the IUD has stopped my period, I still get like sore boobs. Should i be worried that I’m pregnant ? ( i wasn’t protected)

I got the iud mirena put in almost a month ago is it normal to have bleeding like a regular period also when I sit down or bend over I swear I can pull the iud. Dow you have any suggestions on what I should do
