Hi, Thank you for the excellent presentation. Congrats on your big win. Yes, an MTH or Lionel would be suitable for hobbyists. However, I believe that Lionel only has the license to sell in O Gauge. I also like the G Gauge Grizzly Flat's (Emma Nevada) 2-6-0 by Bachmann. And LGB's Chloe, an 0-4-2. Disney's animator Ward Kimble, owned operated full sized steamers of these models on his property, and were the inspiration for The Disney RR. ua-cam.com/video/3nmsUzYBDJI/v-deo.html

Congratulations on obtaining that Disney prototype! I have long wondered what happened to that planned Disney train. In the early 2000s, I was able to compile lists of items that MTH was planning but had not yet publicly announced. Believe it or not, I got this advanced information from MTH's own web site! I was surprised at how easily I was able to obtain this data, and I believe MTH was completely unaware at the time that the public could get to it. Eventually, MTH did become aware, and they plugged the leak. What was especially interesting were items that were planned but never produced. Relative to the current discussion is the following item, which was planned for the early 2002 catalog: 30-4072-0 4-6-0 TEN WHEELER STEAM R-T-R TRAIN SET - DISNEY My apologies if this is old news. One other item that was planned but not released was a RailKing NYC P2 box-cab electric engine: 30-2523-0 P2 BOX CAB ELECTRIC - NEW YORK CENTRAL 30-2523-1 P2 BOX CAB ELECTRIC - NEW YORK CENTRAL I would have jumped at that thing had it been made.

I have very fond memories of PS1 (okay, well moreso just one engine with PS1) and the WDWRR, I bet the kid in me would LOVE the prototype to death if the whistle were good enough (it’s hard to compete with the whistle on a more modern-looking MTH 4-6-0 that’s been with me for now 23 years)

I have a Lionel WDW 50th anniversary set, which has clean WDWRR narration. If I knew how and had the ability to jerry-rig something to record the sounds directly, I’d send them to you

This TMCC berk was released in 2008 4 years after the movie it was the first run for the pere marquette it was offered agin in 2014, 2018, and now 2024 if it was released in 03 I’ve never heard of it being made then which would put it one year before the movie if that is true they more than likely did use sound fonts of the actual 1225 it just may sound weird

Fun fact: Walt named 4 engines after Santa Fe presidents. Number 5 is the only engine thats not named after a Santa Fe president and thats the ward Kimble named after Walt's friend

The polar express coaches are a nice nod to the usage of sierra 3’s whistle in the film and the hero boy’s reference to doc brown’s “I wanted to do that all my life!”
