@@PopesterRc lol it's a Mad Crusher but don't be fooled. The USA-1 is just a Mad Crusher with fewer twin-plate cutouts and a different wheel hex, wheels, body, and front bumper. The reason they did a USA-1 was to push sales and appeal to a larger fan base. As for the two-speed, it's a Kyosho GT transmission. I was in the top ten percent that did this modification way back. I was feeling more bottom-end power with this setup. I ordered the metal 3-speed but lost it because it was not worth it to use that three-speed clutch set up for me. 3rd gear failed way too much and for some reason, Kyosho's clutch set was just not as strong as say a savage one. I suppose they have fixed that now but for me the lower power is good. I run in small places so the bottom RPM is where I like my power.
@@rcbrooks3543 well it works for sure, i think u are safer with the 2speed as well and yes the bottom end torque is on point, the build is great, definitely the top madcrusher ive seen around for sure!
@@allaspectsrc4178 Thanks. This is not a savage so you do have to drive like you have some sense. But on the other hand, it's the reality of solid axle drive experience you can't get with other trucks. After I went with aluminum axle housing this truck got a lot stronger.
A big hello to my Savage Guru:) Are the bones of your throttle and brake linkage to your Savage all HPI or are they a bit of something else? I’m trying to do a better set up on the Savage 25 I bought off of Ebay a few months ago. Please advise when time permits. Thank you
@@williamoleary9330 unfortunately it's a discontinued set sold by Ofna. I will look for the like to install this with part numbers but would be shocked if you can locate a set. Let me check.
True that! I keep looking at different ways to set this truck up. I feel you're correct about my powerband off the line. I just know if i lower that power i would miss it too much. Lol Just decided to get some links. Just dont feel like making any. Lol being lazy for sure! Haha enjoy your RC!
Nothin says you would have to keep it like that forever though. And I definitely feel your tuning skills and different combinations are top notch. Sometimes it hard to decide what you want to do first to make things easier or better. But this is RC, we must prevail!!❤❤👍👍💯💯KBN
I think you got the wheely part down pat! If you are wanting to hold the wheely longer you must try changing a few different things. Your clutch is hitting too hard right off the bottom end, so if you are able to numerically increase the gear ratio it might not hit so quickly, which should help with smoother power delivery thereby keeping the front wheels in the air longer, rather than slapping back down right away! Larger diameter tires would be another thing to experiment with! Awesome tune man, I am still working on my tuning abilities (or lack thereof)!! Lol❤❤👍👍😎😎
I've been messing about with independent 4ws just lately and found that it suited what I was doing quite well. I don't think it would benefit your style of bashing much. The good thing about it on these trucks is you can soon lock it out if you want to.
Awesome, some of your observations about this I expected and others not so much. Very interesting none the less! I wish you could have tested it on a loose dusty surface to see if the rear end wouldn't grip so hard and flip it every time. Just my 2 cents again, I would definitely like to get a few of the older Kyosho trucks, my first rc car is a '96 Kyosho Baja Beetle which I got used and fully rebuilt with some of the factory upgrade parts still available in 1999! KBN ❤️❤️ Been a huge Kyosho fan ever since!
Lol. You are the reason I did. It's the best turning I've ever seen from this thing. Lol its just too strong is all. Haha. Too heavy in the back with gripper tires. It was fun trying it.
@@rcbrooks3543 It was interesting to see the difference between 4 wheel and rear wheel steering. I noticed with the 4 wheel sometimes it would give sort of a twitch when you made a small steering input right after hitting the throttle and having the front wheels in the air, then the gyroscopic effect would affect it and stabilize it. But with the rear steer, it would just flip right away... I wonder how much different tires would affect it? 🤔
I think I'm going to have to try to get one of those beast myself and try out a few things... Love the channel man and your different trucks and the differences between them and how a little change makes a big difference and not always how a person would expect it to! KBN 👍👍♥️♥️🙂🙂
It was a clogged carburetor. Took it off, put it in a cup of nitro fuel for a couple of hours. I then put a fuel line on the carburetor and blew that that sucker right out. When I took it out today it started right up. I guess the guy who sold it to me had it sitting for years. It is in fantastic shape for a 20 year old truck. I just now have to tweak the needles to dial it in right. I’m going to put a new HPI aluminum pipe on it as well. Maybe new linkage as well to sharpen it up. Thank you very much again.
