Garth Webb

Excellent to see these interviews they ate very precious, the first man to speak, which I thon was Harry, must have even popular with the ladies in England! Good looking man who obviously was an excellent pilot.
SO THANKFULL FOR YOUR SERVICE... IM GLAD YOU LIVED THROUGH THE FULL WAR... AS MY GREAT UNCLE ACED DIED... ON JUNOM D DAY.,.. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.....
DOES ANY ONE KNOW WILLIAM GILBERT MAY OR HERD OF HIM B64328 DEAD ACED IN WW2 HE WAS POSSABLY ON THE SAME LCT THUIS VET WAS ON.... B64328 WILLIAM GIULBERT MAY WAS MY GREATE UNCLE,,,, IN THE NORTH SHORE REGAMENT,,, HE DIED ON JUNE 6TH 1944
Brilliant interview. Never met a Canadian working field soldier who did not praise the Typhoon "Cab Ranks" swooping in to pulverize well hidden and dug in german tanks, guns, and mortars. Our RCAF pilots were said to be the fastest to get down and onto the enemy would be ambush forces, saving countless Canadian lives. We could have used 3 times as many Typhoons. Without the courage and excellence of the Canuk, Aussie, Kiwi, South African, and Brit ground support pilots, we would have a very different, and worse world today.
Harry is my uncle's father in law. Spent as much time as I could chatting with him. Such an understated gentleman who I never saw upset or lose his cool. RIP Harry
It has been a fast Seven years since we made this trip!😊👍
God bless you and those men with you then, sir.
Thank you for your story & service.
True Canadian hero. Rest In Peace Mr. Cameron
You WONDER WHY!.... WELL you are not speaking GERMAN!.... REASON ENOUGH. I was born in the U.K. in 1936.... So THANK YOU..... By the way you did not Win your Medals as it was NOT a Race...YOU WERE AWARDED THEM the SAME as I
@1:00 I've known veterans who told me they initially signed up because they were young men who felt they were going to be stuck on the family farm and it would be a paid adventure. That's honestly what they said was a major part of why they signed up. One was a co-worker at the old Coliseum building of the Toronto CNE in 1978. The topic came up because the first day there he told me he was recalling to himself what the place looked like back in '39. The Coliseum had been converted to barracks during early mobilization. That was his first time every being in a city.
Truly they were the Greatest Generation! So thankful to Almighty God for such courageous and valiant men and women that Served during WW2!
We should never forget the Courage, Commitment, & Service of these, THEN, o so young Men. Lest We Forget...
I once had the immense honour of meeting Mr Summersides when he visited my school to talk about his experience. He was an amazing man with so much to share and say. Recently the 80th anniversary of D-Day got me thinking about that experience and while I was very saddened to learn that he has since passed away, I am immensely happy that his story has been immortalized for future generations to learn from just like I did.
Rest in Peace Mr. Cameron. I am so sorry you didn't make it to the 80th anniversary of D Day, but so glad you were there for the 70th and 75th ceremonies, as I know it meant so much to you. Canadians are very grateful for your service to our country. Sending my deepest sympathies to your daughters and grandchildren. A lovely man like you will be missed and remembered. (Died May 31, 2024 - Age 100)
What happens to VA benefits when they are most needed?
Thank you for honouring these amazing people who gave so much so we could be here today. Forever in your debt

Thank you for your service. I am sorry they made you wear that rainbow ribbon for woke ideology.
I was fortunate enough to meet and make friends with Harry on the 60TH DDay Anniversary. My friends and I would 'chaperone' a number of veterans from our base at my friends B&B, 'Normandy Beaches' in Arromanches. I've not heard from Harry for a while now and would dearly love to know if he is still with us. a humerous and wise individual who inspired myself and friends in a number of ways. One of my 'heroes' that I was so lucky to spend time with.
I'm sorry to learn about Mr. White's passing. His and his comrade's sacrifices won't be forgotten by the Dutch. Thank you Mr. White, thank you Canada. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Thank you for this great video. Our brave Canadian airmen are truly something we should all be proud of.

Beautiful video of remarkable men who gave us our today, they must hurt so much when they see what goes on in the world today - When will we ever learn. !! 🥲🥲
Well said by Mr Greenwood. Commemoration is not warmongering. Too many people think that it is.
@@PaulSpencerImages2012 I can’t say I agree with respecting both sides of conflicts. Nazis get no respect from me.
@juno COMMIES!
The Highest respect for Mr. Don White. Grateful to have known and worked for this lovely Man.
I quite enjoyed watching this video and listening to Peter Chance's recollection of his time aboard HMCS Skeena. My father also served on Skeena and was aboard when she dragged her anchor and went aground on Videy Island the night of 24 Oct 1944. Dad was amongst that group of sailors who ended up in the water with the Carley floats and who was fortunate enough to make it ashore.
Thank you for this video. Great story and RCD history. My grandfather had a similar story so I really enjoyed the pictures. I hope to visit the Juno Beach centre soon.
When I was an air cadet in Regina in the 1970s we also shot those _heavy_ old .22 rifles in the basement of the armoury. No doubt they were the same as the ones Jim shot in Winnipeg.
Brave men. Thank you to Mr. Chaisson. Thank you for telling us your story. RIP 🙏
Bless them one and all for their dedication and service for Canada.

Stocky Edwards just passed away this past week at age 100. His funeral was here in the Comox valley where I live. A CF18 fighter did a flyover tribute. My neighbour is a retired Cdn air force fighter pilot and knew him well. RIP SIR.
