Slideshow of a 68 Camaro getting mini tubs, new rear quarters and small rust repairs.
Another couple of jobs done at J's Customs. A 1968 Camaro getting mini tubs, new rear quarter skins, new tail light panel and some small rust repairs.

Beginning Fabrication - Episode 17 - Transferring holes! Final episode of the series.
Переглядів 2,1 тис.5 років тому
In this episode I show how I mark/transfer holes that have to overlay each other. There's many ways to do this but this is a way I use fairly often and doesn't need any fancy tools or accurate measurements. This is the last episode of this series for now. I may do another season one day but I think there's plenty of other good youtube vids that can take it from here. I really wanted to cover th...

I also run through my process of doing dimple dies with my actual tools as a few people have requested it. Music is by Tim Johnston as always. Feel free to subscribe to my channel and share my vids around. Thanks for watching!

Beginning Fabrication - Episode 14 - Let's cut out more rust!!
Переглядів 2,1 тис.6 років тому
In this episode of Beginning Fabrication we take a look at making sure you cut out more than enough rotten metal when doing a basic rust repair. This is a simple single skin repair, so if you want to see a more involved, multi layer repair, take a look at the sill work on Episode 12. I've had a few people asking me to show more about the bead roller and english wheel but there's already a lot o...
A slideshow showing how an XY got saved from the scrap heap!
Переглядів 66 тис.6 років тому
This slideshow shows a job I did a few years ago to save an XY Falcon from becoming dust. It's a pretty brief look as there were so many repairs needed the slideshow would be three hours long to show it all. I hope you enjoy it and I hope it makes you feel good knowing your car (hopefully) isn't as buggered as this was. I used aftermarket door skins, outer sills, front floors, front guards and ...

Переглядів 1,5 тис.6 років тому

Beginning Fabrication 10.5 - This time showing the shrinkage!
Переглядів 8786 років тому
In Episode 10 I did some shrinking in the Torana engine bay but forgot to film it. In this episode I filmed myself shrinking the other side. I only did it this morning so I've done a very poor (Same as always I guess haha) edit job. The audio all over the place but I wanted to get this uploaded as quickly as possible. Thanks for watching!
Beginning Fabrication - Episode 10 - Let's shrink stuff!

Beginning Fabrication - Episode 9 - Shaping more metal with a pipe and hammer!
Переглядів 1,1 тис.6 років тому
In this episode I shape a piece of sheetmetal into a compound curve in the start of smoothing a Torana engine bay. All I use to make the shape is a piece of pipe, a hammer and an old panel beating dolly. Feel free to subscribe to my channel and comment any suggestions you'd like me to cover in future episodes! Love it the whole thing is beautiful I’ve done similar to a xr not xy falcon I remade the whole rear speaker panel on the bead roller and rear window opening sections like yours my quarter panels and A pillars were ok i put the car on a chassis rack measured the side lengths to hold the gaps with chains while I remade new inner sill panels put the beads in the same spots as the old rusted ones repaired the inner talk boxes while front floor pans were out one side at a time replaced the whole inner sill then the outer sill panels I found by welding small pull tabs on the tops of outer sill I used a pull clamp and slide hammer to get the outer sills to go up back in line with the bottom of the pillars and rear dog legs then tack welded them in place trial fitted the doors then welded the outer sills in place was a huge job after that I welded all new floor pans in I was lucky my xr falcon wasn’t as rusted as your xy .. love seeing someone else doing a good job man
