Not a legitimate run because I don’t have 0.4/0.5 mm nozzle, so it’s 0.6 hardened steel CHT nozzle with 0.25 layer height and 0.62 layer width. XY movement range is X400 Y357, so it’s a bit larger than normal 350 Voron. Started off as Flying Bear Reborn 2 and is slowly being modded into a custom Voron Trident, current dual-Z will be replaced with triple-Z gantry.

    I am trying to finish up a IDEX printer and have the following setup: TMC5160T Plus, BTT M8P, LDO-42STH48-2804AH @ 48V. Is there any way you could link a copy of your printer and slicer configs? Ive been adjusting the TMC parameters #driver_cs:16 #driver_TBL: 1 #driver_TOFF: 3 #driver_HSTRT: 7 #driver_HEND: 10 and haven't been able to get over 100mm/s without sounding like its missing steps and the motors almost too hot to touch. Any help would be great.

      @@vahvelpoiss hey thanks for the tip. I just saw that I have to keep the 24V anyway because the BTT board needs 24V for the system. So the 48v only has to power the steppers. Hmm, installing a wide belt will be difficult, with a 20 mm profile, I would be interested to know how you solve it. AWD would still be interesting for me, that's why I bought the Kraken, they still have reserves. I wish you much success ;-)

    • @vahvelpoiss

      it can if you make a custom carrier for it. rest of the toolhead with stay the same, but you need to attach the belts and endstops to it somehow. I'm using Chaoticlab's CNC TAPv2 so it's really independent of where the rail is as long as the mounting pattern is the standard Voron SB one for the main toolhead parts.

I've tried Stealthburner with CPAP mod and it was actually quite decent, but I want more cooling with less weight. tl;dr - if you have something better right now, then no. if you are running stock toolhead on your Reborn 2? I was looking at those XY joints by Sergii too. Using bearings and a printed idler instead of a standard toothed idler is different. I just regularly change out those idlers because its cheap and easy but I would like to know how that system stands up long term. If only it was available in black too. I'm using the version being sold by Seejie tech and they are nice and strong but I had to modify them a bit because they for some reason use 3mm holes for the X axis mount instead of the standard 5mm and the spacing doesn't fit the cnc X beams.

    • @vahvelpoiss
      @vahvelpoiss 5 місяців тому

      these are Funssor XY joints if I recall correctly. the printed idlers are cool, but the pin design has issue that when printing in hot enclosure, one of the pins wants to come out and not even bearing glue helps. I've decided to take off the XY joints and hammer the ends of the pins at work or replace the pins with nails of the same size and hammer the ends of these wider with a chisel. I tried using bolts, but bolts are loose in there and give almost no support to the printed idler.
