I just did one of these. The dealer quoted them $3500. I told them why they charge that and the procedure for it. I explained i could do it this way and i only charged them $500 re weld that plastic with zipties for filler and a soldering iron. Silicone over the seam as well just incase.

Awesome video. I am a new Gallardo owner. I was wondering house the compressor is ever off since its mechanically connected to the engine? I am wondering because, my AC just went out ofter 1 month of ownerahip. I am somewhat mechanally inclined. With the car running and AC on, my manifold guages are 130 psi low sode and 140 high side. This indicates the compressor is not operating. But since that is not possible without obvious noises, i am wornder how the pressures are equalized (resulting in non AC operation)?

One thing that worked for me was to put a jack under the lower control arm. This way the hits were not absorbed by the shocks or other parts. the control arm hanging made it impossible to remove even with this tool after many hits. Once i placed the jack under the lower control arm. took about 10 hits and it came off. 339,000 mile honda accord. great video by the way!!

Better to use a small hot knife. I just did this and it worked fine looks clean and will go back as intended. You guys can preach all you want about warranties but shops are charging people $2,500 for a it. GM mistake.

For myself, I just replace the rusty rotor and reuse the existing pads. Both fronts and later, the right rear on a Ford Edge. No further issues. But I understand that shop wouldn't only do a rotor slap, vut a full pad and rotor replacement.

Violent vibration? That rotor can be cleaned up on a lathe. Of course, that's old school, but why not do it the easy way? It's not your car or your money.

In a pinch, Advance Auto or Auto Zone will be always be my go to. I have also seen genuine parts fail just the same way. So it really do not matter either way. Like big pharm making needed drugs so expensive, same crap happens with dealerships profiting on people's need of having a vehicle operational to complete our daily task.

Drain the main tank, fill it, call it good. These fucks dont drive them anyway....plus, you aint getting paid enough. Pull the drain plug, take your lunch break, eat some food, deink a beer, come back, put the plug in, top her off, test drive...come back and do it again...go home and relax...you earned it my brother.
