We just lost our 1yr old red Kelpie to a snake bite. Very sad. Beautiful most friendly dog you can have. Loyal, trainable and lots of fun. We have a red healer as well and they both played and spent lots of time together. They complement each other’s personalities and temperament. A great combination to have on a property with space and activities to do on their own.

Schnauzers, followed by Poodles are the greatest dogs to exist.

The information on this video is very good, but if you’re talking about a breed, why would you show visuals of other breeds? Several of the clips in this video are from shih tzu dogs, not havanese., which can be misleading and confusing for some people.

I've had her Blue heelers and aussies, since 1975 on 36,000 mtn ranch acres. I've had multiple generations of red heelers, good working dogs, but nothing like my first generation of a Kelpie Aussie cross. 😊

years ago we had a Bernese mountain dog when they were still a relatively rare breed. New owners should know that Bernese are very suseptible to lymphoma. our dog developed lymphoma and died from it. but despite the heartbreaking loss. He was good dog and we loved him. Lymphoma or lymphosarcoma is a type of cancer that afflicts Bernese Mountain Dogs more than other breeds. This disease makes the body form abnormal lymphocytes, which are a type of white blood cell. Because white blood cells can be found throughout the body, this cancer can show up almost anywhere.

We have a mix of Border Collie, McNab, Kelpie and Plott and she has amazing agility. She’s only 8 months old. Stubborn, silly, hard working and very lovable!! She has been a gift!!

Both are great working dogs, each just stems from greatly different base environments. While they share some ancestry and are or similar development age, the Kelpie is a creation of necessity for the environment extremes of Australia. Be it 50c degree heat or negative temps in the same region, Kelpies work here in that, and on some of the hardest terrain that other's just cannot handle. Smarts wise both are similar. A smart Kelpie with right training will match any border collie. Both are great but as an Aussie I love our true Aussie dog. Now don't get me started on the NOT Aussie Shepherd, needs a rename 🤣

Both great dogs and highly intelligent. The Kelpie is a bit tougher through that's why its suited to Aussie conditions and working with Cattle in 40degree heat.

I have a black mini schnauzer and have had 2 schnoodles ( part schnauzer-part poodle) and a gold dust Yorkie. DEFINITELY love the schnauzers more than ANY other breed. Just the right size to cuddle and play, but can be a bit on the stubborn side when they want to be. And they love children as long as they’re not aggravating them.🤣❤️

My wife and I inherited a 2-year-old female. She is quite entertaining and stands on her hind legs, runs through the house in a blur and makes these unbelievable leaps while running from the floor to the back of the couch in one fluid move. She loves lying on the deck in the sun but hates the winter and the cold. Scratches her bowls if she wants food and water and has a tiny whimper to get your attention that you think she's on the verge of speech. Oh yeah....no shedding.

My wife is disabled and in a wheelchair....we live in a tiny 15 foot long camper . Our havanese goes with us everywhere . She stays sitting in my wife's lap when out unless I get her down. She rarely ever barks and when she does it's to get the attention of one of her playmates (dogs, cats, people)or when one of her toys gets stuck where she can't get it. She sleeps with us every night and takes turns who she sleeps on , sometimes changing through the night but she almost never wakes us up when doing so and I'm an extremely light sleeper. She has learned things on her own like fetch and picking things up off the floor that we dropped ....we didn't teach her these things at all. I've owned many dogs and other animals and she is by far the smartest , most loving , well behaved and entertaining pet ive ever had. Weekly baths and brushing and trip to groomer every 3 to 4 months ($30-$40full groom) and she stays wonderful.

Definitely A KELPIE I'VE HAD KELPIES for over 50years far superior working and companion just lost my beautiful red Australian Kelpie called DUSTY sadly to heart trouble at 11years old definitely on look out for another Kelpie 🤠🤠🦘🦘🐨🐨🐎🐎👍👍

kelpies can work cattle too. dunno about border collies. kelpies are very friendly too. b.c are a little more reserved. kelpies can run for miles in the heat and be excellent sled dogs if a little small and not made for cold climes. but can be used as a lead dog. kelpies are the marathon runners of the dog world.

I had a Weimaraner some years ago and he was a lovely boy. But he was a challenge to have in the city. I found training quite difficult due to his high energy levels and difficulty paying attention. Weims need lots of exercise! Sid got at least 2 walks a day and a good amount of time at the dog park, but probably not enough mental stimulation, which Weims need a good amount of due to their intelligence. (I always thought he needed a job.) But I had loads of fun playing with him and going to the dog park to see his friends and run, run, run. He LOVED his friends -- dogs and humans. Sid was not particularly brave or protective, although he did run barking after a guy the police chased into my fenced yard. (Good boy!) I would not describe Weimaraners as a protective breed, though -- no more than any other breed. BTW, the correct pronunciation of the breed's name is WYE--MAR--HONOR, with the stress on the first syllable. You could also use the German "VYE--MAR--HONOR, but it's less common To anyone thinking of getting a Weimaraner, they are a LOT to handle, and will look for constant stimulation. My dog had me trained to constantly let him outside to the front and back yards (we had fences). Beware of the stare! Talk to lots of owners before you decide. That's one thing these breed description videos could improve upon - including verified owner testimonials.
