Well done, you've got longer than the 20s I've had out of mine! I think mine needs a smaller diameter/thinner wall hot tube as well but sadly I'll need to find someone to make one for me. Will give mine another go next Friday!

Lovely bit of cleaning mate! I’ve always loved steam engines and now I’m addicted to inch scale steamers. Would love to own one someday. Maybe when I’m retired if we’re still burning coal then.

Thanks for posting this, just got one myself and the picture of the drawing confirmed mine is right. I just had to reseal the hot tube. My burner is also dirty but the looks of it as the flame is yellow.

Was it made or built as a model of a full size engine ? or is it a small utility motor? Lovely thing either way .

Holy heck you are handsome. Your face makes me happy to look at. Your beard and hair are both really well done here. You are wholly a pleasure to my eyes. What a wacky looking casting. One side of the casting is just a rod.. It sounds so different. The huffing noise is sorta unique, at least for this size engine. Nifty valve arrangement too. It is a Strange and unique engine and I like it too.

Surprised you just chucked the descaler down the drain 😞 I bet that would have had loads more go left in it. I reuse my descaler about 3 times or until it stops fizzing, just drain it back out into a container ready for next time. Also if you want something which is the same but cheaper try eco descaler from HITEK bascially the same stuff but a lot cheaper.

Is this a generator? How much kW does it generate in 1 hour? What is the market price of such an engine?

This is a nice engine & well maintained.I have some Mamod steam engines myself which i'am displaying & running at Tees Cottage Pumping Station at Darlington on Sun 9th October. You should run your engine there sometime.
