    Try to target Characters with T using this module but for some reason the HP didn't deacrese then roll for attack and then for damage. May be u know how to fix this?

      After you roll to hit and damage, if you will right click in the chat window, you will get the option to apply the damage (and I think it will ask you if it should subtract armor or not). Just make sure the token is targeted or at least highlighted.

    Question... Is it possible to finalize damage to monsters at the end of the round of combat? In other words... effects of damage given to the monster is revealed to the party as a whole? Aren't the bow users firing simultaneously with the front line?

    • @bluecarpettiles
      @bluecarpettiles 17 днів тому

      If you want to. Traditionally damage will be dealt per character if in the same stance. Ie Forward, Open, Defensive, Rearward. Thematically you could say attacking initiative is handled as to the caution of the attacker with forward being those rushing into engage the enemy to rearward cautiously lining up the best shot. The only time that changes is as combat begins with opening volleys taking place before close combat.

    • @TheGMsTower-el3px
      @TheGMsTower-el3px 5 днів тому

      Yes, theoretically all damage occurs roughly at the same time. But of course, if you kill an opponent before they get to attack, then they don’t get an attack before they die. As far as the effects of damage, you should be able to write click in the chat window and apply the damage and everyone should see that damage applied.

    Randomly found your video on youtube. Barrowmaze is great and his other three mega dungeons are all excellent. Greg the author of Barrowmaze released his OSR RPG Dragonslayer last year. It is a D&D styke game that uses the core rules of Basic/Expert D&D with the best parts of 1e AD&D (races..classes..spells etc). Very simular to OSE.

    For Foundry the best current system is OSE to convert into Dragonslayer RPG ruleset. I'm almost complete in the change using Highfell as campaign. I also use Miro for player mapping and rules reminder/pictures etc. Miro helps with not relying so much on Foundry functions/modules.

    Veteran is actually a really good Heroic Ability. Say the fighter draws a 10 initiative card. Instead of leaving the next initiative round up to chance, the fighter can hold on to that 10 and pretty much go first (If he wants) every round. Also, say he keeps his high initiative and then decides a healer needs to go first to heal someone, he can then trade his high initiative. I think it is actually one of the best abilities. Love watching your play BTW.

  • @Pneumanon
    @Pneumanon 3 місяці тому

    Thanks for going through this. I'm learning the rules at the moment starting with combat. When I've run 1v1 ranged combats where both characters can get into cover, it feels like things get repetitive quickly as each character just tries to shoot through cover. If both targets are behind solid walls and wearing kevlar, you're shooting through 8 points of cover, which means you're aiming for a 9 or 10 on a 1d10 pistol. Presuming no-one is close enough to break cover and close the distance it seems like it can easily get into turn after turn of not much happening. In a game I'd bring in roleplay here (good old shootout banter), but for the purposes of understanding combat I feel like I'm missing something. I figure Called Shots are intended as a way to break this but I wasn't sure how you determine the amount of cover your target is in. For example, a person in reality can hide behind a waist-high wall, but be fully hidden behind it. So are targets considered to be popping up, firing, and returning to full cover after their shot, meaning it's -40% for the Called Shot to hit? Or are they exposed at the -20% partial cover because they've stepped out to fire that round? Curious to hear what you think.

    • @TheGMsTower-el3px
      @TheGMsTower-el3px 3 місяці тому

      I’d say it’s probably up to your discretion. For me, I’d probably not give them full cover unless they were hiding and not shooting back. I get the repetitive nature of the combat, so I’d likely do 1 of 3 things: 1. Have the bad guys leave quietly and give the Agents a tense time as they try to see what’s going on (and the bad guys can always pop up again later) 2. Give the bad guys bigger guns or maybe grenades. 3. Have the bad guys break cover and charge the Agents Also, if appropriate, I might have one of the bad guys cast a spell. Anything to break up the monotony is ok, I think.
