I had to sell my horse because I didn't have the time or money for her anymore. I got her when she was 2, and trained her to jump 2ft. We prob weren't the best pair.. I swear she hated me most the time. But I will forever miss her. I hope one day I am able to buy her back

If you’re worried about your foot hitting them and releasing, i really recomend peacock stirrups. Same concept except is a rubber band with hooks so it doesn’t come undone unless a lot of force (like falling off) is applied. Only con is the rubber bands have flung in my face before 😂

I'm still really new to horses but this is something I'd like to move forward in. I went to a camp when I was 6-7ish and we got to ride horses daily and take care of other animals, I'd been wanting to actually ride ever since but my family was too broken to afford it and I finally started lessons in September of 2023! My trainer has offered me chores in exchange for more rides (which I unfortunately cannnot do right now as my mother's battling unknown illness) and she's mentioned a few times that she might break one of her horses and train it for me as long as I keep riding the way I am right now. (She's been letting me ride a green 4yo she trained and apparently I'm doing really well with it) So excited and hopefully one day I can take this further.

If a horse is unhappy and you can’t give it what it needs then selling it is the best. Of course you should make sure they are going to a good home or a good rescue (checks and conversation). Also of course make sure vet stuff is up to date and you explain how the horse is and what it’s like.

I always had a really big love for horses. Even though we live on a diry farm my dad said no, but i was able to take lessons hear and there and in 2021 i started saving and convinced my dad to let me get one and in September of 2022 i brought home my first horse a MFT named sunny and even tho my dad was so agist it for so long, it didnt take long for sunny to win him over... now i have 2 Over all sunny is the family favorite and so well loved by so many she also taught me lots and gave me so so much confidence

I have 4 horses and have the conversation on a regular basis on selling. I love all 4 of them and hope they will be with me for life but things change. And I have a plan for each of and when things changes.

I was first introduced to horses by my best friend in fourth grade, she talked to me about this camp and I thought it was cool, got there and we both loved it , did again the next year and then when our parents were sure we were into this we started a lesson program that fall. We’ve both stayed with it since! Also I found it crazy that there are places where you are just handed a horse, I was taught right from intro how to catch your horse, groom, tack up, later on how to make their grain for after rides. With time we just got more detailed with the care portion of lessons.

I got into horses from my mom. We owned two horses when I was 0-5 years old but they have both passed away a long time ago but those horses were the first I ever rode and they taught me a lot from a very very young age. My mom then took me to these little pony camps when I was like 3 to 5 years old, and I really liked them, but wasn’t fully committed to anything yet. Then after a few years of just riding for fun when I was eight, my mom bought me my first horse. I started to take lessons on him and realized I had a talent for it but still wanted to do other sports. Then we went through two more horses until I finally found one to start showing AQHA on when I was 10. I have had him ever sense and I’m now 14 years old showing him in the western classes. I also am showing my moms best friends horse in the English classes this show season!🎉😊
