This is what happens to your chain when it’s stretched. Symptoms- Rattle on start up. Could be mistaken for a starter motor sound. Fix- You will need to replace the tensioner with the chain. My chain guides had shown no sign of wear and I reckon most will be fine to use the originals. Note- Make sure the tensioner mounting bolts are tight as they can work loose.
