Happy days !!
I was in E block in the seats at the back of the Stretford End, how many people knew there were seats there back in the day. I recall that second goal well and was in the queue for the bus on Chester Road when the fourth went in.
We got schooled that day all right. Forest were miles better than us. I went with a pal of mine and stood in the Stretford End Paddock.
I was there as a United fan with a Forest fan and a Burnley fan. What a disaster.
United fan was in K Stand with my Dad, Great team Forest back then, we were lucky it was only 4.
That yellow kit was always lucky at Old Trafford.
I was there. Dreadful afternoon!
I didn't know Forests away kit was dark yellow shorts and light yellow shirts...
they look like orange shorts
shiny shorts difficult to match in those days.
Little Arch was phenomenal. Our Brian and Pete knew how to pick em.😉👍🏻⚽️🏴
I was there. In the Forest End. Never missed a trip to Old Trafford - an amazing ground and always an atmosphere to savour. I remember walking out of the ground and there was a van with a printing machine in the back and they were selling a small Sports Sheet - freshly done with all the days results on it. They must have made a mint.
do you mean the Manchester pink
@@anthonymitchell8893 Yes, that's the one IIRC
I've seen the Gordons (Hill and McQueen) describing Dave Sexton's bizarre training 'methods' ... ... it all makes sense now.
Great player was Stan U REDS!
Man u were lucky it was only 4
I remember Bob Wilson saying "today the bubble will burst"
I had the forest shirt with Bohinen 9 on the back then they sold him to Blackburn and to make it worse he scored a hat trick for Blackburn against us! I was a gutted lad lol 😆
Pretty sure this was Forest's Championship-winning season, late '77 I think. This was surely the game that convinced the likes of Liverpool that Forest were genuine, serious title contenders
Chelsea v Forest the following season (1978/79) was the first game I went to as a kid. Ended up 1-3 with Chelsea being completely outplayed by a Forest team who were runners up to Liverpool that season and went on to win the first of 2 European Cups. Went to the game with a Chelsea supporting family friend and his two kids who were gutted but I was quite happy being a Spurs fan.
I was at that game...I think it was the game Trevor Francis made his debut
@@stevehendon4076 made his debut away against Ipswich a 1 1 draw
I was there. What a game!
I always remember my dad (massive United fan who went to games his whole life) telling me that he already knew United were in trouble in the warm -up! :) He said the united players were strolling around, chatting and joking about and the Forest players were dead serious and sprinting and doing high speed passing drills. He said then the game started and it was no different and in all his years of watching United that was the most one-sided loss he ever saw at Old Trafford. That United side wasn't too bad but they were totally out classed that day.
and then became Liverpool´s 5x0
Great team performance by Forest O'Neill and McGovern my 2 fav forest men , they were the unsung heroes
the team was the hero, a mosaic where every piece perfectly fitted
Wow!
Forest's 2nd goal was pure beauty
We would all be better off if those greedy bastards at Sky went bust. Back to those wonderful times.
What a performance,it had everything!!!
CMON YOU REDS!
which red ? garabaldi or red devil
Forest were a force to be reckoned with back then, i'm not a fan , I support Spurs, but some of their football in the late 70's was simply out of this world. Plus they had the best goalkeeper in the world.
well well, Shilton best goalkeeper in the world.....
Those were the days
forest used to be a powerhouse
fantastic team n season for forest. utd prob on the piss. went to everton next game n beat them 6.2 they were unbeaten for 20 games. they prob pissed to
Man United ran out to the Stretford End singing we are the champions by Queen they soon fell silent
Forest were a newly promoted side too fielding most of the previous years players plus Shilton ... couldn't see that happening today
That's a Premiership winning team right there, pounding united good n proper!
As a Manchester United fan i remember watching this at the time on television.Nottingham Forest outclassed us made us look foolish.
Robbo and Archie Gemmill ripping Utd apart in their own backyard, and Woodcock adding the finishing touches. it doesn't get much better than this.
Anyone else reminded of the 1-6 City game 34 year later ??Paddy Roche ... unfortunately Alex Stepney was at the end of his career ... and Gary Bailey was still 1 year away from discovery ... Sexton had a difficult time
Before Sky TV and financial doping gave MU a huge advantage.
Never noticed this before but I think Roy's last goal should have stood because there was a player laying behind the goal line, but was still slightly on the pitch.
agreed

Such simple football --- great team spirit, good players, ball to feet, no bigheads, great organisation, counter attack - but above all simple. Cloughie RIP.
Brian Clough & Peter Taylor made them the best team in Europe one of the best managerial team about Leeds Utd and there England failed manager Don Revie must have been sick again Cloughie got the ladt laff
The God of football management...aka Brian Clough 🙌
nice to see again

très belles ouvertures de gemmhill
the game played as it should be, ball to feet, on the ground, none of the long ball rubbish we see today, premier league could learn a lot from that, just a shame we can't perform like that today, FTID
