Watch me take on the Automa in this solo playthrough of Evenfall. (Please turn on the Klingon subtitles for corrections.) I recommend checking my How to Play video (ua-cam.com/video/tDkobWXYDj4/v-deo.html). Once again, two disclaimers: 1) This is a pre-production copy of the game, so components will change between now and the final product. 2) I'm close friends with the designer, so be aware of...

19:05 expansions overview starts
Thanks for that!
Thanks for the introduction to the new edition! I especially liked that you explained all the city-related expansions first. I always add negative cards to the left, has that changed in this edition?
My pleasure. Do you mean negative on the left and positive on the right? If so, I always played it like in the video (positive on the left), and the rulebook example shows it like this. In the end, there is actually no gameplay difference, so you can do whatever you prefer.
Yes, I've always played negative on the left and positive on the right, which I think your video reverses. You're right, though, it makes no difference to gameplay.
@@afrank525 I mistyped my previous comment: I always played with positives on the *left* (I typed "right" but meant "left") and that's how the rulebook shows it
Thank you for this video. What did you think of the game after playing it?
Now I understand how to play Odium! I didn't realise he's active throughout the game.
Solo is pretty hard. The point is to get as many points as possible in less turns as possible. But as a gamer you want to play much as possible. It is also very different then competitive. Since in competitive you want to max out. While doing this it does not effect your opponents. While in solo when you do this the automa keeps going too.
Hi - thanks for the video. Where do I find the official solo variant?
It looks very good. Thanks for the explanation
My pleasure. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video! You made this easy to understand! Thank you!!
Thanks a lot. This made my day!
I think theres a problem where you can just pass to end the game when you are ahead, almost from the beginning
11:11 you forgot to draw an antihero card for gaining "Glimpse into another realm"
Where can I find that the automa takes the place of power with a binding effect as priority? I can only find that he takes them from left to right?
correct
Excellent video. You went right through the rules and the game, you did not mess around at all with irrelevant information and every second literally counted towards the game itself. Great, grats
Thanks a lot. Glad you enjoyed it. I loved reading this comment
Thank you for the excellent setup, teach, and playthrough video. I am about to play my first game and I feel very prepared, especially with your strategy tips.
I'm really glad it's useful. Thanks a lot! I look forward to hearing how you like the game.
@@playityourself.boardgames I won with just a single card left in the Flash, and it took a lot of puzzling out those last three or four turns to make it happen. What a fantastic game! I’m looking forward to throwing in some of the expansions now.
@@wtphug Nice! I love those super tight endings! Enjoy the expansions. They are fun and up the game's difficulty.
Waiting for my copy to arrive, and your video will be an immense help in getting me started. Some top tips too!
Thanks for the kind words and enjoy Cyberion. It's a great game! :D
Hi, thank you for this video. Got a bit confused on this: The Spike faction On player board there is a power stone space "Gain 2 Battle rewards". Any battle rewards from 1 region/multiple regions?
My understanding is that you get to pick from whichever regions you want
Great explanation. Good Job :)
Thanks!
Thanks for the presentation. Evenfall remind me a lot of 51st State in a good way.
There are some similarities for sure, but overall it's a very different game.
Really excited for this game. I'm Spanish so I don't know when I'll be able to play it but it really strikes me as my kind of game. Also the Automa seems really well thought, it plays like an actual player with little effort to drive it. Also, thanks for the playthrough!
It was my pleasure. Thanks for your comment! I hope a Spanish version will be coming soon 🥳
Si les entendí bien, Tranjis ha dicho que para Interocio (Q2 2025).
@@ASTURmatrPues me viene genial por qué lo que queda de este 2024 ya lo tenía completo en compras de otros juegos jajaja.
Thanks!
Really nice game. Can't wait to get a copy of it.
Soon it will be out and you'll be able to 😁
@@playityourself.boardgames I picked up a new, but not sealed copy of this for $4 Cdn last month... Playing it this afternoon. Thanks for making this.
I love the Oniverse games. They look and feel otherworldly. Such a talent. The artist for his games is amazing
when you attempt to re-roll a challenge do you still draw cards from runes from the first attempt? That doesnt feel right since you are disregarding that roll for another chance at it
page 14 of rule book, at first attempt you gain benefit immediately event if you reattempt and ignore dark moon runes gained during furst attempt
It is so good to hear Shadi talk about the much-loved Oniverse. Onirim is my favorite of the series, Urbion, my least, but I’m glad fans will finally be able to find a copy and play it. Thanks for the great interview, gents.
Wow, somehow I never noticed the symbols on the back of the Aerion decks telling what is included - I was always trying to memorize! Had to run and check my copy just to make sure!
Great interview! Wanted to say the app of Onirim helped me to really understand the rules of the physical game. I do not play the app often (on the go, here or there) but the physical game is one of my all time faves! Looking forward to all to come.
Thank you Andee. Glad to hear it and I agree that apps can be very useful in learning a game! Like you, I still play the physical version though 😄
Excellent interview. This is so comfortable to watch, Pedro and Geddy showed so much joy and excitement. So if Ember-Eyed Behemoth is a Kaiju, I wonder whether it will have a miniature as its physical manifestation on the board. Just wondering.
Thank you. I'm always excited to talk about Spirit Island and Sentinels, and Geddy brings such a positive energy that Joy is automatic :) Oh, the though of a mini is interesting (even though I don't think Spirit Island really needs it). My guess is on it *not* happening, because right now you have a clear distinction where plastic is the Invaders and wood is the defenders (Dahan and Spirits). With that in mind, I definitely wouldn't mind a custom, screen-printed wooden meeple for a Kaiju!
@@playityourself.boardgames Yes, agreed the direction of the game is to keep the spirits and dahan as wood and invaders as plastic. So its very likely going to be a Kaiju meeple.
With the new thin foil spiritpanels, is there any hope that the aspects will be printed on their very own spiritpanel instead of being a smaller card layed down on the other board?
And another question: Is there already plans when the german version of the expansion will be released?
Do you mean having multiple boards per Spirit, to reflect each aspect? That's actually a good question. It's definitely a lot of overhead and extra boards, but it does sound like a premium upgrade that some fans would really go for. Very interesting...
Excellent interview!
Thank you very much!
Great interview. Thanks for doing it and sharing
Thank you. It was my pleasure!
Now that we met him, we want to know where to buy his game in the USA???
Absolutely brilliant and insightful. Looking fwd to adding the next game(s) to my collection

@@playityourself.boardgames ive just preordered mine from a uk store !!!! Great interview btw with some really good thoughtful questions and i loved all of the thoughtful answers too
@@ashleyjamesbrown Thank you very much. I'm very glad you appreciated it!
I've always loved Oniverse games, however this is the first time I've listened to Shadi, he's just a pleasant, brilliant person! Wonderful interview.
Thank you. It was my first time talking with Shadi as well and I share your opinion!
Great interview Can't wait for everything
Thank you. Shadi was great and really did get me hyped for inPatience's future!
Great Interview. Big fan von Shadi Torbey and I am looking forward to Stellarion. :)
Thank you. Same here!
Nice video looking forward to seeing a play through of stellarion. I am particularly interested in urbion that is one I do have.
Thanks. Yeah, as soon as I get it I'll make a playthrough! Urbion is fun and I'm looking forward to see what Shadi does with version 2!
Listening to the design process of Aerion, and just wanted to say: It would have been so much easier to see cards mistakenly placed in the wrong decks if the decks all had a differently colored back, so that you could tell them apart at a glance. Just throwing this out for the second edition at inPatience ;)
Having the same colored back makes it easier to tell them apart from the expansions, I guess.
Great interview!! Thank you!
Thank you. It was a pleasure!
Thank you for this wonderful interview, Shadi and Pedro! I have spent many hours happily (and patiently!) exploring the Oniverse, and many of my questions were answered here. I'm excited to further my explorations with the new titles. Thank you!
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad we were able to get you new information! I too can't wait for the upcoming titles. My Oniverse collection was feeling left out (it feels so long ago that Aerion came out), so I'm happy that Stellarion is almost here.
Thank you for interviewing Shadi. I've been reading his posts on BGG for awhile now to get my information and news, but hearing and seeing him instead feels alot more personal and unlike anything I could gather from text on a screen.
Thanks. It was really a pleasure since I'm a big fan of the Oniverse. It was great to be able to ask him questions directly rather than having to get glimpses from BGG :)
Conversa interessante 👍👍👍 ~Tiago
Obrigado!
Excelente conversa! 🙂
Obrigado 😁
That was a cool interview! Thanks!
Thanks for watching! It was very fun to talk with Cornelius.
Excuse me (my ignorance on this), but I have never seen these games before, is not my game style, but they really looks awesome and I want to know if all of those games are stand alone or are they part of some basic game? ... If don't I would really like to try them.
All the Dice Throne boxes are the same game and compatible with each other. Each of them work as a standalone set, but can also be mixed together. There are 2 larger boxes, called Season 1 and 2, that contain the same heroes found on the Duel boxes.
@@playityourself.boardgames thanks for the info pal 👍🏻
@@ahdemrn Happy to help 👍
Hey Pedro! This is Dirk with the once green hair. Thank you for doing this and taking the time!
Hey once-green-hair Dirk. Happy to. I had a great time!
i like the setting. is there a way to vary the difficulty of the game? how is the replay appeal, are there different scenarios? i think i'll have to try the game when it becomes available.
So, the prototype rulebook doesn't go too deep into what changes between difficulties, but there are extra difficulty modes which I believe will change your starting resources and your target resources (eg. you'll need way more loot). There's also some other stuff that changes, such as an additional Police level in harder modes. I found it very replayable. True, the gameplay is always about resolving Road and Location cards, but the challenges you encounter always vary and you need to survive long enough (and guesstimate the best choices) to find the things you need.
Guten tag. Replayability is in general a big concern for us. In this game, you can find 4 major different difficulties. Each one will of them will change the objectives and modify a little the composition of some decks ; just that change a lot the way you play to this game. But, we will also insert many challenges/achievements (like in steam for example), to give more replayability to the players.
Looks like really fun game
Oh, it is! I've actually just finished my review for it: boardgamegeek.com/thread/2819385/pickup-slam-dunk-play-it-yourself-review
@@playityourself.boardgames Thanks. I will read as soon as possible
at 3:19 you drew a monster card but then discarded it. Why!
Is that the correct timestamp? I can't see the moment you mentioned
@@playityourself.boardgames The time should have been 23:19. I've realised that it was my mistake though. Thanks for the great playthrough
@@MultiDoctordeath Not a problem. Thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
I was under the impression that the discard pile and the pillage pile were two different piles.
You are right. To be honest, I missed that. It does make a difference in some effects/knowledge, but I don't think the impact is that large.
@@playityourself.boardgames the impact is big I think :) When for example you use a spell that allows you to take back cards from discard, it means you can only search for cards you’ve played before or discarded on purpose or lost in battle. You can never look into pillage pile because part of the fun in this game is that you never know which cards ended there. Maybe you count on a great ally card and wait for it to draw but it’s already pillaged ;) So not being able to see pillage pile is very important :)
@@TrybSolo Thanks for the comment! True, but the number of spells that let you search the discard is not that high. Regarding "counting on a specific card to show up", due to your high amount of discard/pillage and low amount of draw, I never count on anything in particular showing up, so I personally don't care much about what's "gone". Regardless, I think we just disagree to the level of its impact, but we agree that it *is* impactful.
@@playityourself.boardgames And by the way! Thanks for the video 😀
@@TrybSolo Glad to help. Thanks for watching and weighing in!
