Joystick is definitely harder in RB but with practice you can become proficient at it just like mouse aim 👍

Yessir 👍 it works ok because in rb you get the virtual cockpit which gives you a 360 degree view. In sim you only get the full cockpit view.

Dude, ive never seen anyone play air RB with stick. I do the same thing and have been because its just soo much more entertaining then air sim. We should play together. I also appreciated the on point commentary, you know your stuff. ​@Notary1

Haha yeah. I fly with a Thrustmaster T.16000M HOTAS with foot pedals and all. I’ve tried mouse and keyboard and even gamepad/controller and can honestly say that the Hotas or Joystick is worth it if you’re trying to get into sim.

@@Notary1 yeah, its super janky, maybe there is a workaround but idk, I'm actually quite surprised by how well is the keyboard and mouse control done in DCS, I mean its not great by any means but gets the job done.

I also find the camera angle in WT to be somehow lower, I don't have like a really good feeling of how close am I to the ground, in DCS again somehow not an issue... Might be hella trippin thoe

@@ksenonscentral1187 Yeah especially on water maps like Denmark or Dover Strait I agree. There's some other things you can do with your camera controls like "sense of flight" and another one that allows you to look over the console/cowling of the aircraft in the cockpit, but I haven't played around with those much yet.

@@Notary1 Yeah, gave up on sim until I buy a HOTAS

If you lock ‘em up with the radar, then switch your cockpit sight/HUD to “cannon on air targets” it’ll give you the radar gunsight in sim. Most top tier aircraft have it. You can check for it in x-ray mode in the hangar on the pilot and it’ll say “EEGS” if it has it.

He also rtb’d mid-match, so he was on a heavier fuel load, whereas I was on literal drops of fuel remaining. Weight of the aircraft plays a BIG role in how it maneuvers.

I haven’t flown the Mirage III, but the Kfir is similar. Basically, in a head-on merge, you want to stay faster than him, so that you can use your energy and turn rate to eventually get on his 6. With you both being Delta-wings, you’ll both lose energy with each and every turn, so the winner will likely be the one to hold that energy longer. Once you’ve got him defensive (you’re on his 6) your goal is to get as slow as he is, so that you don’t overshoot. If you overshoot, you give him the ability to go offensive on you again, which is where you could die. Hope this helps! I’ll try to make a Kfir vs. MiG-21 video as it’s a pretty iconic middle-eastern dogfight.

Hey man good question! For America, I would recommend the F-5C or AV-8A depending on whether you want a rank 7 or 6 premium. These are easy to learn to fly and have good cannons with good missiles. ALSO, perhaps wait until May to purchase one since the May/Victory Day sale is right around the corner, where many premiums will be 30-50% off.
