Aye good shit on the blood starved beast. Just for a helpful tip, that weapon u are using is a strength and skill favored weapon. U upgrading arcane would be better for much more advanced weapons later in the game. So for now maybe upgrade strength and skill. Just an idea tho, you don’t need to follow.

Chalice dungeons! Lets go! A lot of people don’t like the redundancy but I love them. Besides from the story based dungeons that are FIXED design and enemy wise, there are over 2300 randomly generated Root Chalices with generate rooms and enemies all differently. It’s endless fun with a boss for each layer. Gives the game so much content when you just need to Hoont and farm. Edit : Bloodtinge is great for bow run. You can access DLC early and get the bow blade that’s a sword and transforms into bow and arrow. Also, great for using the cannon and other gun weapons which are late/dlc game. Even if you do bloodtinge or arcane always level your vitality and strength and/dex first. Then you can start an arcane or bloodtinge build since most items and weapons aren’t until mid game that utilize those 16:50 there is a Caryll Rune you’ll find for giving health on visceral attacks. It’s always a must first me

Thanks for the shoutout! Subribed now…lol You are getting so much better at parrying (and the game in general). Isn’t it soooo satisfying. Also, one last tip, when you parry and they are down…sprint forward (up+ O button) to get right into their face for the visceral. This will put you in range and close the distance before the parry window closes. You can trade hit and still hit the visceral this way if you get hit while parrying successful. I chose the trolls to tell you about to practice because they have multiple attacks/ some quick some slow wind-up attacks. And the 4 guaranteed vials early game Also, remember you can tap up on d-pad to gain five blood bullets for 30% of health so you don’t consume regular bullets. If I recall correctly, Timed right you can rally that health loss back. Wheelchair gunners always drop the most bullets The sound effects of the parry are so rewarding. Bloodborne was my first From game and my favorite. Play it every Halloween. Are you enjoying the game more as you get the mechanics down more? Oh and arcane build is kind of the weakest, I would suggest only leveling arcane late game when you get the items/rare and DLC weapons you need that use arcane Edit: pretty sure L1 during parry doesn’t increase damage. It’s all the same. Like a wind up R2 back hit leading to visceral back stab Double edit: the load times when game came out were five times as long. And there was no item description (I think) on load screen. On PS5 I can’t even read item descriptions. But even PS4 is a considerable quick load compared… Sorry for the rambling lol Go Hoont. A Hoonter must Hoont. 💉🩸⚔️🪓 🐺🧌🦑

24:13 Thank you for the shoutout, really glad that you are enjoying that series, though i would not go calling myself a souls veteran since i first played dark souls 1 last year in October. Honestly speaking parrying is currently my favorite thing to do in souls games since i never was a huge fan of rolling to activate I frames. While i have no experience in this game, there is a possibility that certain attacks from bosses might not be parriable like other souls games so keep a lookout for those and enjoy the glory days of Bloodborne and DS3 when parrying was a legitimate high risk high reward strategy.

Holy shit! You parried the blood starved beast on second shot! Bosses are much harder to parry too! GG Notice the sound effects to let you know you parried. Way to go! Now keep it up. Awesome job. It’s a game changer and so satisfying!!!

Great to be back in Bloodborne! That was a fun episode! There aren't any illusory walls in the main game or DLC, except for one thing that kinda looks like one but is pretty easy to spot if you look closely. Illusory walls can be found within the Chalice Dungeons. These dungeons are divided into two types: fixed and randomly generated. Fixed dungeons do not contain illusory walls (with the exception of a single dungeon), while randomly generated dungeons may contain them. Good news: no mimics in Bloodborne!

Way to acknowledge your previous rage and want to be better. GGs Parry with gun in the middle of the enemy attack. When you see them raise weapon and begin attack at you, fire gun to parry and then R1 attack immediately in front of enemy. Takes some trial but once you figure it out the game becomes very fun with that mechanic. Also use your remainder blood echoes after leveling to buy vials and once you open chalice dungeons you can farm vials very quickly just by doing the chalice dungeons

@@erikmclennan3934 definitely go back to the beginning of the game and practice the parry. I suggest the two trolls to the left of the first lamp. It’s the shortcut gate on left (first lamp after ladder). Each troll will also drop two blood vials. I practiced on those two. Once you get it down it’s a game changer. And there is a rune that gives back health from visceral attacks (which all successful visceral attacks after parry will give).

I really hope you can chill out a bit when you play. It's not that hard, you're just making it harder on yourself by rushing into enemy groups. The guy with the machine gun is one of the toughest NPCs in Bloodborne, and before he took a tumble into the abyss, you were handling him really well. That shows you've got skills! If I may offer a suggestion, in addition to searching behind closed doors, you may encounter NPCs at windows, particularly those that are illuminated or have a lantern burning. You missed a couple in Central Yharnam. Additional encounters will arise as you advance through the game. Just don't expect to find any in Old Yharnam. Besides the two hunter NPCs, it's overrun with beasts.

57:20 What I find fascinating here is that idea of conciousness, thoughts and ideas being one of the last patterns in a line of many. And the same pattern throughout. Makes one wonder if there is some rule or inherent property of reality that always goes back to this structure that works. And what structures would our thoughts create (as individuals and a collective)? How would those look like if they were actually physical things or could be visualized? And then, I ponder, why does there even exist something like this. Why does conciousness (or witnessing reality) even exist? Couldnt the particles, atoms, molecules, proteins, organs, neural activity just exist without an "entity" or "singularity" having an experience? Like, where does that even come from? Is it really just neural interactions and chemicals? That may be one explanation how it works, but that still doesnt make sense to me how that creates an (concious) experience. Like, we still dont have a good explanation for this as far as I know. I know some outlandish theories propose that (the origin of) "conciousness" must be everywhere. So even a stone has that property. Although, it may require fast moving and interacting stuff like electrons and chemicals to make that pratical and apparent. I guess in the end we may never know and it probably doesnt add anything to our experience if we knew. So best to just be grateful to experience and make the best of it.

Great thoughts! You're preaching to the choir - I think about this stuff all the time. Probably why we both enjoyed this game..... Personally, I believe that there is some kind of higher intelligence to this reality, even if I can't precisely describe it's nature, and I think it's quite possible that it enjoys knowing that we ponder these mysteries, the same as Jonathan Blow does knowing that we ponder The Witness. Have you ever heard of Rupert Sheldrake or Morphic Resonance? It roughly has to do with DNA providing an energy field that causes matter to take specific forms.....that's the kind of thing that this discussion on patterns reminds me of.

@@erikmclennan3934 Rupert Sheldrake or Morphic Resonance. nope, will have to look that up :D I had some interesting line of theories regarding Quantum Theory and Big Bang Theory a while ago. Big Bang means that a lot of particles just came together. Quantum Theory is about how everything is theoretically possible but usually very very very unlikely. So, the most probable outcome is what we experience in the end. But that also means that given infinite time, maybe lots of particles could just come together (like unbelievably rare but that doesnt matter when we have an infinite timeframe) and form the Big Bang. Given that our understanding of the Heat Death of the universe makes everything far apart, I wonder if there is a small chance that stuff just finds itself back together after an absurd amount of time. I still dont quite understand the quantum fluctuations and virtual particles and how could play into it. Oh well. Last Thursdayism is also interesting in this regard. What if the quantum field just happened to form in this specific state last thuesday (or the last second) and then progressed from there. We wouldnt be able to tell.

But then there is also the sense that I can do something better with my time, and some things are best left as they are. For now at least :D PS: If you like this type of discovery game where your knowledge is key, I can recommend Outer Wilds. It is a different to The Witness, but I maybe would rate it even higher on my top game list. It is much more story focused, less abstract and you have to read a lot of text, but it had a much more emotional impact compared to The Witness. Outer Wilds can also only play be played once for the first time and there is a wholesome community always ready for another YT playthrough. Although the current 100% speedrun record is 1 hour, 15 minutes, and 43 seconds. Figuring out a way to glitch the game into giving you the environmental puzzle from 'The Secret of Psalm 46' without having to wait an hour is an incredible achievement, in my opinion. I would love to see you do a reaction video where you watch this speedrun in it's entirety on camera. It is seriously impressive, but it is also a nice way to review the game and to see the rest of the environmental puzzles in action.

Favorite game is Quake 3: Arena. Played it from 12 years old to like 23, through college. Joined tons of clans, went to QuakeCon. Even played in some tournaments with actual pros when i was in my prime. I hate boring, campy, hiding first person shooters, quake 3 was fast paced and aggressive.

Sounds awesome! I remember the first quake I played was a rental of quake 64. I thought it was pretty fun, and that (and speed running curiosity) sent me down the rabbit hole of learning about higher level play (rocket jumping and whatnot) and learning about Radix' (the guy who made speeddemonsarchive.com, the website whose forums birthed GDQ) old website quakedonequick . What modern games do you think have best absorbed the DNA of quake 3?

My main take on the game is, the people making the recordings made the virtual reality island, and the puzzles and recordings are just to provoke thought. The human anatomy thing (at the end of the tree area) was just showing you how the same shape/pattern exists in many things. Organs, neural synapses, plants, trees. How one thing (form) can be present in many. Same with ideas and concepts, I guess, which is what the game is mostly about/teaching. The bonzai also being there, as a methaphor to be able to shape your ideas, thoughts, goals? And if so, in what do you want to shape them?
