Hey Jeff nice to hear from you again! My story is pretty long and has many ups and downs. I hurt a lot of people as the Lord drew me to his heart. I was pretty broken. I think I came to the Lord sometime in 2001-2002 not sure when. But when I was believer baptized in 2008 it all changed. I'm so sorry to hear that. But, that's people not God. I assure you he loves you deeply and wants you to find a healthy church family. Good churches are out there but you have to look. There are good church people out there who will love you back to your feet. Let me know if I can help?

He does treat us with tough love Ezekiel 7:8 now will I pour out my fury upon thee and accomplish mine anger upon thee and I will judge you according to thy ways:and will recompense thee for all thine abomination. God will be coming back with great wrath the bible talks about his vest dipped in blood that's not a beautiful sight so if we don't follow his commandments we are doom.

It is sad. And it is unfortunately true. But it’s more than that. It’s hopeful. People make mistakes. We all make mistakes. There is nothing that humanity has touched and not screwed up. Church is no different because God gives us the free will to make poor choices. That’s actually love. Any other way would be a dictatorship. And if we are all honest. We’ve all hurt people at some points of our life. There are good leaders, poor leaders, good congregants and poor congregants. Bad churches and good churches. We just can’t let peoples poor choices define who God is or what his true heart is for his church and his people. The song isn’t about the story as much is its asking the question of how are we going to respond after hearing it. Regardless of which ever side we are on. I wrote the song in the hopes we all can be a better reflection of Jesus. Moving us all towards repentance or forgiveness. And sometimes, like me, both.
