I am no longer working as a service technician in the public world. Now work behind the gates of a large facility. They do not allow cell phones, photography, and videos due to the sensitivity of the work we do.
Furnace does not spark ignite CLASSIC HVAC FAIL
This is a favorite video of mine that has been lost to the public. The original poster many years ago was so ashamed of his feeble attempt to fix his own system that he pulled it from the toober, but not before I burned a copy for my personal pleasure. For those professionals out there please enjoy, this is not a spoof but an actual real homeowner asking for assistance. Pay close attention to his hand and the fresh burns that coincide with the melted wiring and his pronunciation of "manometer". Oh the splendid humor of misused terminology throughout. Poor guy points out everything but the old Fenwal spark ignition module buried right in plain sight. ENJOY THIS CLASSIC see how long it stays up.

Pretty self explanatory. Learned my lesson many years ago about these particular RTU units. They love to sucker in unsuspecting rookie techs and singe off any facial hair you have. This one I was called out to because tenant below was scared to death when she attempted heating for the first time this season and she heard a huge explosion.

Radicalized Wasps aftermath of "The Battle for the 65 tonner"
Переглядів 1498 років тому
Decisive win. Took out the Isis stronghold and a small lookout post. Ultimately took five hits but being that I have zero allergies to these bastards I can consider them as simple flesh wounds. Never seen anything like this before and I hope I never do. Hind sight, should have called in a Pro. But what fun is that!
Radicalized Wasps - "Battle for the 65 tonner"
Переглядів 2198 років тому
Went to war with "Isis Wasps" to reclaim supremacy over a 65 ton Carrier RTU needing service. Day before only got within 10 feet of the unit before I was ambushed and was forced to retreat. Returned the following day with a battle plan and plenty of chemical weaponry. Took some hits but was victorious. Required the entire arsenory of a case of wasp spray.

A basic tutorial on how and when to use the Lennox PC Connect Tool. A BASIC overview of the Lennox Connect Software, where to download, how to connect, look at ECTO parameters, and how to pick and choose to finally UPLOAD. Again, very basic. This is designed to assist the technician who is already fairly familiar with commissioning and setting up these units manually, now you can do it faster a...

Condenser coil cleaner tool EASY and CHEAP
Great video. On some of the (older?) carrier units these are in, the larger Carlyle compressors have a internal protector in 24v series with the LP, HP, FP.
Great explanation 👌
Thanks for sharing this information it really helped me understand what is happening to the unit I am working on
Thank you for this video, by any chance are you familiar with the blue control boards with the CLO moles plug intertwined with the main board itself? And if the CLO trips would the condenser fan motor stay running without the compressor?
Wow, I remember those discussions. It’s hard to believe so much time has passed.
great explanation / concept
Thank you so much
Hello SLC Tech Yesterday I was working on one of the Carrier Horizontal units with a Current Sensing Board. It was my first time troubleshooting one of these boards. I suspected it had something to do with the amp draw because my compressor was drawing too much amp and it was shutting down on LRA Locl Rotor Amp. When I removed the common wire on the board and contactor will energize try to start the compressor but it will fail on LRA. Thank you for clarifying. Great educational video.
Dude, you didn’t mention that it won’t start up if it senses current when not calling, not so needed with this but the older ones people try to jump out
TY , For this. So if I measure 24 volts at terminal X that means the board is in Lockout due to a low current at the compressor? Other than that X terminal should not read any Voltage in normal operation operation.
This made my day. Thanks for your very clear explanation.
Good ✔👍
Holy crap I just had a issue with this today and I’m not a carrier tech but this board through me a loop , didn’t know exactly what the board does but now I think I know what’s wrong
This was educational for me, I hope I never run across this kind of junk.
Thank you for explaining this.
It's a good thing that you shut it down.
Yor explain it really amazing thanu kindly make a video like this on pc board of trane package
Thank you sooo much. My air con does not recover after power outages, until I manually reset the thermostat, sometimes I have to turn off the breaker.
Alguien me puede traducir al español está explicación?? Gracias
You never showed how to make your own free net adapter need help with that
Sir voice not clear
just bypassed all your safeties. Don’t see anything wrong with that!
Very good example sir thanks
Amazing video I understand every thing about this lock out Realy in only 8:45 mint thanks
Sadly nothing remains but debris. A wildfire swept through here last year and destroyed every remaining building including the mill.
Thanks .its helps alot🤩
OK
Just went out there today for the first time, a massive forest fire has burned almost all structures including the main building in its entirety around all the equipment quite sad. Thank you for making this video now I know what it looked like before it burned.
Yeah, it happened sometime last year I believe. I too went out to see it and was really sad to see what had happened. The fire didn't spare anything.
Sir please one video make on Emerson ICM-220 lock out relay Waring cannection.
Thank you for explaining. It now makes sense to me now🙏
Hey there, random question I'm looking to download the Simplicity Legacy software using your videos, however I can't find it anywhere online. It seems the website you once used just redirects me to the York website for commercial sales. Any ideas?
Appears York/JCI doesn't have it available any longer to download on their sites. I think I found it here, I verified that file size and version of software matches that on my computer: simplicity-pc.software.informer.com/download/ Good Luck my friend
@@slctech3432 Yeah I tried that link on both Windows 10 and 7 - still can't get it to work. I installed the program then go to open it and it gives an error.
@@kurtlafreniere You may need to talk to your local York/JCI dealer and see if you can not get a CD or if someone can burn you a copy of the software and the FreeNet driver. Good Luck.
@@slctech3432 Yeah I've emailed York today. Hoping to get a response. I'll try out our York dealer suppliers tomorrow and see what they say. They stock the MAP gateway tool so I'm hoping they would have access to the older software too
@@slctech3432 Hey, with some help from others I found the original link here: stagingcms.york.com/for-your-workplace/packaged-and-split-dx-systems/legacy-simplicity-software

It's really hard to diagnose a problem without being their hands-on. I would start by putting 24 volts directly to the automatic ignition module and see if it sparks at the igniter. If not, you either have a bad igniter or automatic spark ignition module. I hope this helps, but it is just a shot in the dark without being able to put hands-on with a voltmeter. God bless bro.
I know this is an old video. Question i have. Do you have to use the L connect converter or can you just use any standard usb to rs485 connector?
USB to RS485 converter works for me
I think 🤔 it is time to install a new furnace cause that is going to burn your house
Hello, G. Most of those units all over the country look like they have been attacked by metal boring bees. In reality, then have been attacked by guys who don't know how to set their drill to the "screw" setting. I replace those smaller screws with #12 screws.
Great video, very illustrated 👏👍🏻
What if it's a 2 stage and both have clo, they are in series. If second stage drops off then itll trigger the clo right?
Nevermind, if the y de-energizes and energizes itll reset that board like you stated.
Thank you, this video is great, and the diagram being drawn out is absolutely amazing, so helpful
Thanks for this! Love the 1/4 turn toilet valve :-)
Excellent video; been dealing with a Goodman ComfortNet communicating heat pump that is constantly but randomly throwing a bogus "rotor locked" condition which only means that the thermostat will no longer call for cooling and the temperature in the house rises until someone is able to intervene. Every single time, killing power to the transformer resolves the issue for some number of hours or days. Have had multiple "Goodman certified" techs out to the house but it has never been resolved. I wonder if there is a hack to bypass the flaky Goodman current lockout components with a more reliable one? The techs replaced the entire board on the outdoor unit to no avail. Pressures and other parameters were tuned. Starter capacitor replaced. Power company said supply is fine. I can't imagine they overlooked the run capacitor or wiring. I just want an HVAC system that works day-to-day. Goodman actually says to look for voltage (208/230 systems need above 197vac and less than 253vac), but your explanation is more logical. Don't recall which is which, but have DSZC160241AE and DSZC180361AD. The upstairs one on a dumb thermostat never locks. The downstairs with Goodman's touchscreen stat with Honeywell internals is constantly showing a bogus rotor lock.
sir we have a same isssue our unit is Carrier..20 tons,,what remedy you do to resolve the issue..your response is highly appreciated.thank you.
Good job sir
See it all the time.
Ah.
"fuse relay" "nemometer" "180v to ground" "thermocouple" "blower fan" aw man this is too good.
There are too many stories to share here in a youtube comment......
My Great Grandfather ran one of the mills, I believe for the Johnny Mine. My grandfather, Dan Sheahan was born in Stateline in 1904. Beautiful country.
Now i know how it works what is its main purpose of the CLO . To detect any fault that stops current in winding and require a power cycle to reset ??
Great explanation. Thank you
Nice quick video for someone not familiar with Lennox.. Thanks
