What a masterful rendition. Its such a beautiful experience when a song puts you into another world. It takes me back to being 7 years old and running through the fields with my brothers and the culmination of all the eclectic smells hidden in the fresh German air.
This is far and away the best version of this piece available on UA-cam. Mr. Wolfgang Sawallisch brings out every instrument and every nuance of the piece. It is such a wonderful experience to listen to, especially with headphones, to catch every note!
+Mark B. One of the best, from a French composer, for sure. Try Moonlight sonata by Beethoven; or, at least 10 of the best by the most popular classical music composers. Then you would wonder why, people listen, to modern times garbage. Salute.
Bendiciones.
Annunzio Paolo Mantovani created the best light music orchestra ever. His style of cascading violins was great and since early 1950s he recorded some of the best light music pieces--both classical and popular. Great man !
i have always loved this music, it puts me in mind of a gentle windy day, and i am walking into a forest, the sense of serinity surrouding me. it brimgs back happy memories of the fifties when i lived at st.james.orphanage as a child.
@roughruffian If you're a musician you should also know that normal people don't understand the difference between a song and other types of compositions. You need to be more clear, otherwise they'll continue to think that the word "song" can be applied to all types of music. It frustrates me to no end when I hear people use that term universally, especially those who understand that there is a difference.
is there a mistake at 0:58? the base note sounds wrong... i'm not contesting the score or amazing performance (!) but it sounds different to any time ive heard it before
✨✨✨✨
Wow 👍❤️❤️
absolument formidable

quelle merveille c'est musique
extraordinary rendition
Perhaps the most beautiful piece of music ever written.

+Mark B. I agree. I listen to it as often as I can, with headphones, and only this version.
Mark B. I agree 100% that this is the prettiest art ever!
there's a wrong note played. tsk hehe
simplesmente o êxtase de ouvir!!
For the first 5sc, i thought it was a harp... He play it soo smooth

Nila Shah he also had a great dance band in London in the thirties. Some of his music was filmed for newsreels.
Beautiful. Thank you so much. Sounds similar to my favorite orchestra OK-Dreamband. CD "Clarinet-Dreams" is available for download (iTunes, amazon).
Simplemente perfecta.
4:43 - This feeling is indescribable
rubato is supposed to be inconsistent
Great music, great video presentation
Wonderful...

We ain't in Kansas no more. :P
bad recording man - much better elsewhere
Amo Bunin, non è mai banale, è sempre sorprendente!!!!!!
Terrific video of the moon and the beautiful composition of Clair de Lune! Wow, it really did lift my drooping spirit.

beautiful performance. its a PIECE NOT A SONG though :)
We love Mantovani. He is our biggest idol. Greetings from OK-Dreamband. CD "Clarinet-Dreams" is available for download (iTunes, amazon).

give that man a klondike bar
This is the song, the song I want to be the first one I dance to when I tell her 'I do'.
no, you are not alone...
Not fond of this version myself, rubato seems inconsistent to me....
@ribrobo I think he deliberately chose to play an A minor instead of A major. He does it also in the ending. I like it. Nice choice...
Am I the only one who realizes this was in ocean's 11 BEFORE twilight? Anyway, very beautiful music.
Such beauty from another time, words can not describe the ability of this music to take you far away by just closings ones eyes.
@TheRowlhion You are right twilight sucks

@roughruffian Do you know what a song is? I don't know what you meant, there's not a single VOCALIST!
@roughruffian IT'S NOT A SONG
esplendido ....voar voar... pelo infinito do pensamento.
magnifique musique!
@TheRowlhion There are many ways for good music to reach the profane.
@TheRowlhion isn't it the ocean's eleven song? haha just kidding

The fact that this songs in Twighlight, makes me more willing to see it...
I was really amazed at 0:39. I never heard it been played that way. That's how Debussy sounds in my dreams.
