Really nice work Doug!!
Thanks Tom
I really enjoy watching your videos.im always seeing techniques I hadn't thought of. Great stuff,Doug 👍😃
Same to you and your techniques
Thanks for the shout out,Doug 👍😃. I'm always glad to help. 👍😀..Chain and sprockets look great. Tremendous work👍👍🍻😎Pete
No a problem Pete at all.
Brilliant work Doug
If the engine had been made with bolt down flanges to mount it to a plate, then I think they would have continued with those mounts. Are there no tell tale signs of cross-member mounting points on the outside of the chassis
No way to see anything, the underside is covered in steel sheet metal in a bow shape , less drag, in some ways it was ahead of its time.
@@DB.scale.models then I think I'd make some crossmembers from the engine mounts and fit the engine to align where the exhaust ports are,
Thanks, Pete! I have an old side view photo of the 200hp benz engine. It shows four (4) mounting points, two front two rear . There is more like a tab of steel cut from channe iron, my guess so far. These would be riveted to the main frame, making the motor apart of the frame. Keep an eye 👁 on your email. I will send a photo today of the motor. So you can see it and give me your thoughts on it. All WW1 aircraft motors german where made from race cars engines like the 120hp Mercedes online 6 Was used, and the idea was used for bigger motors .
I shall look further into WWI German aircraft. A big 1/32 build the other day. There's a lot of references for them too👍. I'll check my email later too👍
Morning Doug 👍😎. I like👍your fabricating skills and brave attempts at making these things👍😀. I would have been stealing parts from various kits🤔
Just amazing work Doug, 👍😎
Great stuff,Doug. I was amazed to see you able to squeeze your soldering iron between all those pins👍😀. By the way,I have black fingernails today, over silver and red oxide primer🤣🤣
Yep those are a man nails I perfur with is some black grease under the nail too 😜
@@DB.scale.models 🤣🤣🤣👍
Amazing work Doug
Thanks, Tom. I hope that your ok in Florida!
@@DB.scale.models All good here Doug, 😎👍
Great video,Doug 👍😎. I do enjoy watching your fabrication👍😎. I've watched a few videos of this car now,the real ones, and I've spotted several changes in it. I think it was part of its development. Dawn of motor racing and experimental🤔. Thanks for showing and best wishes from jolly old England👍😎 Pete 🤓
Yes, I agree because it clocked at 140 mph on Daytona on the beach I been there in the winter it was cool temp. But when it was raced at Indianapolis at that track It was dirt then but banked. that I can see it looked like summer? How hot, what was the humidity? What I am trying to say is was extra cooling is needed. Hot thinner air with high moisture content makes motors run hot. I to spotted things like at Indy, there was a speedometer drive attached to the front right wheel, and a cable going to the side of the cockpit there was placed a speedometer. Then I seen a different photo it was on the left side? No the negative was not flipped. First photo was 1/4 front view The last was a 3/4 rear view left side.
Looks awesome Doug, 😎👍
It'll be you that needs pressure testing after that👍😅😅👍😎. I hope to see more soon.👍😎
Bummer having to make it all again. But watching your videos is inspiring👍😎
Well, Pete, it was not a bummer at all . As you know, it's a quest of making something above bord. I just could not settle for the first one, it was so far off, when I put the two photos one of the real thing and then my creation, well, I knew as I was posting it I was going to remawe'll, again Pete . I could see an easier and better way of making it. So a redo is a must Do.
Well, the header expansion tank holes water , really my pants 👖 where wet (not an old age event) From diping it and water And flipping it over ( slow learner ) spills a small amount on me every time, lol 😆 .
I quite often end up making a Mark 2 version, with lessons or ideas gained from Mark 1 👍🤔all part of the joys of scratching🤔👍😀. I haven't seen so much brass work since I was an apprentice 👍😀
Amazing work Doug!!
Thanks Tom.
I bought a tablet.so I have a bigger screen. But basically, I'm on a phone to record or watch.
Computers have 2 computers a desk to I edit with that. And a laptop it my reference computer of photos of aircraft tanks, ships, cars it sits buy my side while making something 😊
@@DB.scale.models I've got quite a lot of books🤓
Great start to my day.👍😃

A lot of detail, great build. Thank you for sharing it.
Thanks for the comment.
Gorgeous build. Very cool colors
Thanks! Everything colors is M Style Designs ideas Check his UA-cam channel out!
It turned out really nice Doug, I know I've learned somethings from this build, 😎👍✌️
Thanks Tom.
That was a great build ,Doug👍👍😃. I've enjoyed every stage and learnt a lot from it all. 👍👍😎Well done mate and best wishes from jolly old England 👍😎Pete 🤓
Don't you for a minute think I never learned from your channel, Pete ! Your radiator class is one of the best on the subject. And that's saying a lot in my mind. You keep being Jolly in England ,and I will keep watching 👀 !
@@DB.scale.models Thank you for the compliment,Doug and thank you for watching. 👍🤝👍
Great scratching, as usual, Doug. Great humour too🤣👍😎. Hope you had a good 4th and best wishes from jolly old England 👍😎Pete 🤓
The most played back 4th my family ever had ,young Grand kids ,and no one bought fireworks, we watch our block burn there money up. Lol Thanks Pete 😊
@@DB.scale.models 🤣👍.I feel the same about Christmas 👍😉
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌👍👍👍
Thanks, it is your idea all of it. I wish I could have achieved the crome blue And have the reflectivity And a sky dome like Blender. Yes, I have used Blender a lot but GIMP more. I have made texture maps. But I am nowhere near your level or talent. Any ideas for the next one. I liked your 57 Chevy!
@@DB.scale.models 👌👌👌👌
@carmstyledesign thank your the inspiration of this model
@@DB.scale.models no problem👍👍👍
It's been a long build Doug, you've done so much scratch building, very impressive!!!
It's been a pain at times. I can very much say that! Thanks, Tom. I have a lot to learn with car models too.
WOW ! I was exhausted after watching this video,,,it was great! I really like what you are doing on this build! A new subscriber for sure!
Thanks for the Sub. Its has been a bear cat for sure , but fun.
Nice!
Thanks 😊
Great build Doug! The wipers were a cool touch.
Very neat, you do great work
Thank you, and thanks for the comment.
Very cool sir looking very nice
Thanks very much.
You do really nice work Doug, 😎👍
Thanks Tom!
Awesome work Doug! Love your Vette! 😎👍
I really enjoy your videos.Doug. great skill and patience.👍😃 The wipers were a bit of work,I think I would have scratchbuilt a couple🤔. Hope you have a good week and best wishes from jolly old England 👍😎Pete 🤓
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for your beautiful Corvette C2
My attempt to make decals wasn't good,, now that we have STS decals, I have them make what I want, great company, nice work Doug, 😎👍
Ok ,what is STS?
@@DB.scale.models a company, Google it sts decals
I was glued to the screen,Doug. I don't have facility to print decals but it was interesting to watch yours.🍻👍😎Pete 🤓
All you need is a computer, And an Ink jet printer. All cheep printers are Ink Jets. Then there is Lazer printers ,they are expensive printers. And the color is not as accurate.
@@DB.scale.models you left out the main ingredient. The knowledge of how to use all that stuff. So even if I had the money to buy it,then find the space to put it. I still would not have any idea how to use it. 😔😭😭Tom has the right solution in the USA. I'm going to have to find generous modeller over here who might print for me😭😂
Really cool build Doug!
Thanks 😊
Cool work on the Vette
Thank you very much
Weather has been crazy Doug, nice work buddy
Yes, it has been harsh, And it's worse in other states. How is your area in Florida?
@@DB.scale.models We are currently in a drought, had the hottest May ever, burning up 🥵
It's been warm, but not summer warm we had one day in the low 90's mostly high 70's and 80's But rain brings humanity Let a lone it swings up from the golf with hot moist air ,it's has not been bad that way it the winds supper cells.
Great attempt at the badges,Doug. I really enjoy your videos, your skills as a modelmaker and your humour.😂👍😁. Best wishes from jolly old England 👍😎Pete 🤓
Thanks Bud ( Pete ) I needed that.
@@DB.scale.models I think the early corvette kits had flags badge on chrome sprue. I think I have seen them in my junk box. Do you want them,if I'm right??🤔They'd be easy to add in the future
Thank Pete , I will use the decal, but first I check my crome sprew. Thanks for the help, I needed it . As I am righting this, a thunder storm is just about on us,I did not see an anvil cloud .so it's just a Thunder Boomer , as of yet nothing bad.
No chevy racing logo on the crome screw. Hold on to them ,I might need them.
@@DB.scale.models I'll look this evening. If I can find them I will try to email photos. I've got a box, somewhere, that has a variety of corvette parts. Could you take casting from a trunk lid, if I send that ? That's another idea that just sprung into my head??😁
Wow that's sad I hope you guys recover quick
Yes I agree
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰nice job 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nice update. I'll be watching
Thanks!
Such a cool build Doug! Sweet widebody Corvette! 😎👍
Thanks its been a long journey.
It's been a long journey Doug, going to be really cool buddy, 😎👍
Well, the biggest disappointment for me was that I was not able to get the blue crome finish on the model. But I do realize that M Style Design used sky maps and had reflectivity and radioausity set hight. But for the final photo shoot, I will try to convey That feeling of his Excellent 3D modeled Car.
Good morning, Doug.👍😀 I've enjoyed another step down your long road to freedom from this Corvette. Don't despair,it's been a great success and tremendous build. Thanks for showing and best wishes from jolly old England 👍😎Pete 🤓
There's been disappointments on this road ,The C2 pulled me down. it's been fun and lots of setbacks. I always said when I scratch build, I only have The plans to worry about! But modifying any kit, you inherited everyone's problems and shortcuts. Like the Revell's Corvette C2 was short in length, The three view in the directions did not fit the models' length but hight and width where fine, The drawings length was longer ,I thought the drawing was wrong not the model is short. IF my memory is correct. Giving the finished model a short coupled look!
@@DB.scale.models I think the wide body makes it look shorter anyway. Though it would not surprise me if the scale scize is wrong. I remember an earlier stage that had scale fitting problems. 🤔I've got a comic kit called Tirebird and was thinking of cutting it up to make a wide body kit for a firebird 😃.
Cool
@@DB.scale.models but I haven't got a firebird,so I'll do something else🤣🤣🤣
Looking sharp. Enjoyed watching the video.
Thanks 😊
Ditto Bob. Nice update. I'll be watching
Thanks
👍 Those are some exceptionally nice wheels and tires.
I should have made the rims taller, thank you
