Great field i hunted for 15 years tell it got sold i know exactly where you are glad someone is enjoying it still reached out to the new owner and never returned calls or text

I just got back from pheasant hunting North Central Iowa today and we didn't see snow on the ground anywhere in the State, I have no idea where you were at. Hunting was tough because it was sooo cold. That must have been a private spot for you because the public play and had very few roosters left.

Yeah, I could definitely slow down on that first shot. I’ve got in a bad habit with that this year.

Haha There’s nothing worse than missing after your dog puts in all the work to get one pined down!

This was 2 days of hunting. Saturday and Sunday

I’d say closer to the northern border of the state the better the numbers will be.

Thanks for watching! There should be plenty of birds in the area for you. Early season, I was running improved cylinder on the bottom and modified on top. I’m currently running modified/modified. but I think I might go back to improve cylinder on the bottom. I’ve been missing my first shot a lot and been having a lot of close shot opportunities.

@@fuzzycurtis4981 yeah there was a load of birds that day! Probably moved close to 200 birds.

There’s a ton of different grass species in most of the cover I hunt. I’m not a biologist but cattails, blue stem, switch grass, snake weed. Corn crop boarding it is always a good sign. I’d much rather hunt fields with varying species in them rather than just a straight switch grass field or something. Good luck.

@ went out this morning, we walked a ditch , I took a pot shot at a rooster and all hell broke loose there was at least 20 birds got up … there was probably more but I lost count … a lot of birds this year. They’re awefully spooky … didn’t bag any but saw a lot of birds

She can be from time to time. This is her first season, I’m just concerned about her having a good time at this point.

Great gun! I wish.. . Using lead, steel? 3in? I bought cheap ou 20ga...it shoots, trigger not what u want.... trying to decide what ammo and chokes gonna work.. thanks
