Ya.. that's the only bad thing.. its only truck/ winch specific.. have used it many times and love it....I don't like the underwater look of extended bumpers or aftermarket bumpers.... so I improvised..

@@nvrlate2220 what did you do to figure out the placement? Was it just a lot of measurements and then hope for the best. or did you like model it up in CAD or something and then go off of blueprints as far as lining up to the frame, and then the height of the winch to the bumper opening

Alot of trial and error. And measuring and removal of bumper many times. I'm not a computer guy by any means.. mainly trial and error till I got it right tho...

Yes it has a small cooler for the power steering and brakes but winch still fit... just barely tho... I've got about 3/4"space inbetween the two....

Actually...I take that back... that was my 2000 7.3 that had that.... this one doesn't... at least to front anyways.... winch is close to the ac cooler.... which you can see in pics

I used all 3/8" plate... I'm sure 1/4" would be fine... but I had 3/8" in my garage so that's what I used

All custom, found the right winch that would fit, I made the bracket and test fit many times taking bumper on and off to get it to fit in the stock place.. didnt want the"guppy"look extending bumper or to accommodate winch. Love the way it turned out... easy to get to release and it's wired or wireless.....all 1/4" plate steel with 5 bolts each side bolting to frame....

@@nvrlate2220 dude it looks awesome, I can fab but my truck is also my daily. Looking around now to see if the new ford tremor winch kit fits the 16s, or if the stock bumper (if reinforced) is strong enough to bolt a winch right to. All i need is a 10k to self recover. Got stuck in the sand at the boat ramp a few weeks ago, never again. Used to have that Fab fours mount, wanted the stock look again.

I doubt the 17 and up are the same they did change quite a bit to resemble the f150.... that's why I went with 16. As far as fabbing...I did all of rough cuts by measurements during the week and the actual fitment and install was a Saturday and part of Sunday.... wiring super easy.... truck not down really at all..I have a separate video on UA-cam(not sure if you have seen that one) of a few pics of install..I wish I would have taken more but I didn't...I use it quite a bit pulling people out and pulling logs at our properties to cut into firewood... lot of people don't like hf winches.. but I read up about on this and reviews actual were really good on UA-cam.... and for the price.. you can't beat it...

Have the same winch same pick up. Can’t find anything close to what you did could you possibly do a video showing the where you bolted it up and how? Just want to see which way you bolted up since you say it’s been holding up to the weight. Or if you have more pictures on a forum or Facebook group?

@GTPrunner1 I have another video on youtube.just search under my name it may not be Not real helpful. But you'll get the idea... its basically bolted to the tow hook mount on the frame. I used all 3/8" plate since this all I had..prolly overkill but it works..

Good ole amazon... its supposed to be a hood light... but no gap on my truck so I stuck it in the grill... looks awesome with headlights and fogs on as well.. the lights you see are switch back turn/ Park bulbs. Everything l.e.d. front and rear....

@@nvrlate2220 Wow I wouldn't of guessed amazon because it looks top of the line pro. I have had front switchbacks for a couple of years now on my 2015 F-350. I just recently bought the Alpharex headlights & are waiting for them to arrive. Do you have a link for that LED grille light on amazon?

Yes and I'm impressed with it for the price... washed and rained on it severely with no issues.... some people hook up to ignition, but I didn't want it on all the time so I tapped into side marker light in headlight housing so it comes on with parking lights only. @@nvrlate2220 I like that idea of wiring that up that way. I have 3 of my 4 upfitter switches that aren't being used. I know that the upfitter switches are only active when the truck is on & you have the switch flipped ON. I wonder if I was to wire it up to an upfitter switch and leave the switch flipped ON, so that when i went to turn the truck on it would do exactly what it does in your video. That way I could turn it ON / OFF whenever i wanted when the truck is running.

Thank you for your comment.. much appreciated... it took alot of trial and error.. but unfortunate not all winches are the same dimensions... so mass producing wouldn't work unless everyone bought a apex...... lot of people don't like harbor freight stuff but I've used it quite a bit with no issues.... very pleased with it.. thx again

I want to mount the apex 12000 on my 2016. If you are not in the market to build one would you take measurements and share of even sell the dimensions?

I made it myself with a lot of trial fits. No part numbers sorry

Sure..but I don't have detailed pics just pics when it installed without bumper and grill on. but you would get the idea on how I made and installed it I think...

Wasn't hard to make... just took some time to get it to fit right with bumper in sick place. Many times taking off and on. I don't have measurements but it is mounted to tow hook mounts and frame with 5 bolts on both sides and all is 3/8"plate steel. And control box was removable so I mounted behind grill still can access freewheel lever from in between bumper and grill. And can still plug in remote if my wireless remote fails...

@@nvrlate2220 I need this so bad. Please remove it, duplicate and sell them. I would buy it in a heartbeat. Powdercoat it and you have a market completely to yourself for these trucks.

Made it...took quite a few tries putting bumper on and off to get the fit I was happy with...dont know how to post pics before bumper and grill were installed after I was happy with placement tho..

No I haven't sold any yet..lol a few people want it tho.. I'm quite bayou with the way it turned out. Really strong... pulled a few people in stuck and a few big trees .I don't think I can post pics on here or I just don't know how to. Only have a few pics of it mounted before grill and bumper were installed.

I have used it much, much more than that..... no issues.... yet. Lol. Granted I don't bury my truck in a mud pit. That's why I didn't spend double or triple for a warn.

@@nvrlate2220 Just got back from a trip this truck only has 30,000 miles on it and the stupid particulate filter plugged up just before Yellowstone and that’s where we were stuck until they come up with a new one nice , I want it off

Well that's a bummer.....I have a few buddies that have over 130,000 miles with no issues...I guess they can't all be prefect.... its definitely cheaper to delete than replace tho...

I do have pics. Not sure how to post... . The release handle can be reached in between bumper and grill to start disengaging it, then reach in from front to finish.. pretty easy... just had to trim to of handle down about 1/4".

Thanks! Took awhile to fab bracket. Didn't want the bumper extended out like most do.... kinda funny looking that wayI think....

No ,I made the bracket out of 3/8"plate steel, welded together.. lot of trial fit to make fit behind factory bumper. Then used 5 bolts each side to mount to tow hooks and to side of frame. Pretty strong I'd say
