Global Karting League:UK - O Plate Weekend, Whilton Mill

Practice session for the GKL O plate event at Whilton Mill. First time back in the karts after a year in Rotax and despite it being a little wet and slippery the whole thing was fun. 2nd fastest all day on the practice session and then 2nd fastest on race day didn't unfortunately convert to a podium but we learned a lot.

Home cine footage of 60's kart racing. Probably 1968/69/70, not sure where but the racer in the black leathers and silver helmet is Grandad. Let me know if you know the location.

Saturday Practice at Thruxton in the Total Karting Zero electric karts. Great Weather all weekend. Managed a 5th fastest in Quali, caught up in an accident in Heat 1 whilst in 3rd meant dropping back to 10th on the Grid for Heat 2. A great Heat 2 and some incidents ahead resulted in 3rd place on track and 2nd once penalties were applied. Final started in 5th and the whilst Wil Sparrow walked aw...

Total Karting Zero race series, electric karts, Junior class, practice 2, 3 laps. Clay Pigeon Raceway. We've been here before and it went quite well qualifying 3rd for the finals but then a bad start leading to an exceeding track limits penalty and back of the grid for the final.
Total Karting Zero - Mansell Raceway - Practice 1

Total Karting Zero race series, electric karts, Junior class, practice 1, 3 laps. First time at Mansell, first time with the Go-Pro. Technical circuit, took a bit of getting used to and we got a puncture part way through this session. Managed to get the times down to 56s by the end of the weekend so good progress.

This might be Camberley kart club
When you are alongside your opponent force him away from the corner this will give him a bad line and should increase your distance. Practice some drifting as well useful for long sweeping bends you can come hot into a bend and getting in front of your opponent and drift it round the corner. you need to change your line of attack though come out wide and pull sharp on the steering wheel and balance the slide with the throttle and possible break at the same time.
