Grand Canyon, 2024. Be Careful! (4K)
The Grand Canyon: A Breathtaking Adventure with Hidden Dangers
Disclaimer: While I can provide information and advice, I am not a professional guide. Always consult official park guidelines and consider hiring a local guide for any outdoor activities.
The Grand Canyon is a bucket-list destination for many. Its awe-inspiring beauty is undeniable, but beneath its stunning facade lies a realm of potential dangers that can quickly turn an adventure into a survival ordeal.
Sadly, August has already claimed two lives at the Canyon.
Before we dive into the dangers, let's appreciate the sheer magnitude of this natural wonder. With its towering cliffs, vibrant colors, and the mighty Colorado River winding its way through the canyon, it's a sight that leaves most visitors speechless. Hiking, mule rides, helicopter tours, and simply gazing at the panoramic views are just a few ways to experience its grandeur.
The Dark Side of the Canyon
While the Grand Canyon is undeniably breathtaking, it’s crucial to approach it with respect and caution. Here are some of the primary dangers:
* Falls: The most obvious risk is falling over the edge. While there are some safety barriers, it's essential to maintain a safe distance and never underestimate the power of nature.
* Heat and Dehydration: The canyon's climate is harsh, with temperatures soaring during the day. Dehydration can quickly become a life-threatening issue, especially for those venturing into the canyon's depths.
* Altitude Sickness: The Grand Canyon is at a high altitude, which can affect some people. Symptoms include headaches, nausea, and fatigue. Acclimatize gradually and listen to your body.
You'll undoubtedly want to capture stunning footage and snaps of the Grand Canyon. While it's tempting to get close to the edge for that perfect shot, prioritize safety over the perfect angle. Consider using a wide-angle lens to capture the vastness of the canyon.
By understanding the risks and taking necessary precautions, you can enjoy a safe and unforgettable adventure.

Lost My RV In San Francisco
Переглядів 1,2 тис.Місяць тому
A Rookies error found me walking the streets of San Francisco trying to find my RV. The PayByPhone is a good system and the rates are reasonable, plus, the RV can be parked outside so there are no height restrictions. But, if you ask for a receipt, there is nothing on the paper telling you where you physically parked or a GPS co-ordinate. After several hours and about 7 miles, I asked a "cop" a...

Fires, that’s what the choppers are looking for. I know it’s hot, good thing you have that Kilt on. 👍🏽
You got that right!
Great photos Paul
Cheers
Video doesn't do it justice of how majestic that main view is in person!! Great safety video, can't joke around with anything that has heights especially grand canyon!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Around 900 people have died at the Grand Canyon since the 1800's. About 12 people die at the Grand Canyon every year The leading cause of death in the canyon are helicopter and airplane crashes, deaths from environmental conditions like heat have been on the rise in recent decades.
I prefer to stay in Williams, AZ and take the Pullman car up to the rim. But for the first time, definitely head up there so you can take your time and see all around.
I'd bet you could fit half your home country in there.
Ha-ha, you're probably right 👍
Awesome
13:31 - almost like the Three Sisters, but much bigger view! I'm enjoying your travels so far.
Just beautiful! Thank you Paul. We are sitting in our boat out on the bay, just enjoying this beautiful weather. Gold Coast area. By from Queensland.
Have fun!
Words fail me, wow, when you looked over the edge my stomach went in a knot just watching it on my iPad !!! Nice job
I already visit ballarat gold mine area.
It was nice to have met you. My husband was talking about your visit with him in Coso Jct. Calif hope your adventure is still going well.
Yes it is, loving every minute!
Brilliant footage 👏
Thanks
A win is a win as they say take it anyway you can, still would have used the voucher !
Looks like you're having the best time ever.
I'm milking the country of its tourist destinations 🇺🇸
Hi Paul great clip, glad you did not waste money for the thrill. What surprised me was how clean the streets were (maybe it was good editing). Will have to put Las Vegas on the bucket list. Stay safe.
A bit of that, maybe. It was a very tidy town, right at the Strip
Thankyou for the stunning photos
My pleasure 😊
Well, At least you didn't visit a 1000$ tree after getting the worlds largest rv repair bill.
Great story Paul, despite the adversities you always manage a smile. The best road trips always involve some sort of minor calamity
Very true
Vegas? Really!!!! Not somewhere I thought would be on your radar, but there ya go . 😕
Interesting to cover different aspects of the American psyche
I was at The Channon for the 20 year anniversary of the Terrania Creek protests. Met so many of Australia's OG environmental heroes, the enlightened and selfless souls who stood up for a truly beautiful patch of subtropical rainforest. Spent a night up by Protesters Falls and that little carpark at the end of the road has become one of my top five favourite road trip camp sites because it reminds me so much of home in Far North Queensland. Well worth a detour if I do one south of the border, now I have a connection to the history of the place. It's a good story to tell, to remind ourselves good people standing together can make a huge difference.
Nice story, thanks for sharing it 👍
Amazing scenery. You have had some bad luck with the RV, hope all goes well now
All good
Great scenery, but not the place you would want to have brake failure coming back down the mountain!!😁
Good point! But I did have brake failure in Death Valley 😳
How long are you in the America for.
About 6 months
Did you tow your van down the bridle track?🤔
No I didn't tow the van down the Bridle track. Apart from the danger to myself, it could be unfair and dangerous to others
Crack town don't go there
U already had the caravan pop up already up. So u pop up befor u do the awnings.
I've been to Nimbin twice in my life. The first time I hadn't even finished parking my car before I had some druggie asshat semi-startle me through the window, desperately trying to sell me drugs before the next dealer got to me. . I swore I'd never go back. But, ten years went by, I was in a new relationship and we went up to Byron for a holiday and whilst we were there she decided she wanted to see Nimbin. I told my new girlfriend what happened the first time, but conceded it was a while ago and that I should give it a chance. So we went. Rocking up to Nimbin the second time I hadn't even finished parking my car before I had some druggie asshat semi-startle me through the window, desperately trying to sell me drugs before the next dealer got to me. Never again.
Absolutely brilliant
Thank you so much Robert 😉
Well done
Thanks Pauly 🌟
Great video Paul, I couldn’t hear most of your intro due to wind Noise, but I gather you had some sort of power issue. Not to worry, press on.👍 beautiful scenery, did you run into yogi bear 😁
Sorry about that. I am hoping to pick up new professional 🎤 some time this week in Las Vegas
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
Fabulous pics Paul 😎
Thank you Coll 🇺🇸
Some amazing sights, Paul. Thanks for taking us along.
My pleasure!!
Really enjoyed the video Paul, think that I learned a lot, I hadn't heard of REVS check, thankyou 😮
Glad it was helpful!
How did you sort out the fuel consumption problem 😮
Unknown to me, the previous owners had fitted an electronic throw controller and it was set to race mode. Reset it to average and the fuel economy returned to normal 😎
Hi Paul, I saw NT plates on your Ford, where did you buy it from 😮
I flew to Darwin, as it had the nearest car yard
Really informative Paul, I learned a lot.😮
Great content Paul thanks for your vlog mate.
No worries
I’m enjoying you trip to the USA, travel safe, just wondering when you mentioned about google map telling you to go south might have something to do with you being in the northern hemisphere and not the southern hemisphere if you are using the device you use in Australia
Haha Brian, Me thinks your far too forgiving. I am slowly getting used to turn right in 1,000 feet 😏
Great scenery. Even aT the most expensive, their petrol is only A$1.18 per litre !!! Bargain 👍
Doing a lot of miles, still gets drunk pretty quickly 🇺🇸
23:10 - I was waiting for it! Great adventure so far Paul.
Great video. I put a small compass on my motorcycle in Vietnam so when google says go south I have some clue of the direction. 😂
Great tip!
Nice update Paul, not a nice feeling losing your vehicle, it's bad enough losing it in a shopping car park !!! Safe Travels !!!
I enjoyed meeting you and saving the Merced River from styrofoam throwing kids. Let me know if you make your way to San Diego. I'm eager to see your Yosemite post.
Cheers Drew, I'm looking forward to it also 😀
You might have actually slept in comfort 😮 as opposed to the useless yoga matt😮
That yoga Matt is useless. Why don't you have a rooftop tent on your vehicle 😮
Rooftop tents are heavy and I only needed it for a short time 😉
Why are those people swimming with crocodiles😮
A quiet country village 🌈🌸🌴✨🧘♀️🦋🦄🧚♀️🧜✌️
Excellent video Paul 😊😊😊 really enjoyed it, can't wait for more. From Davis in Cowra NSW Australia 🇭🇲🇭🇲
