Campbell's Souper Barbeque Sauce Coney Dogs - Updated
Merry Christmas everyone!
@thedrunkencouplecooks
I stumbled on this last year. Never heard of it and wanted to try. The original magazine ad was reported as published around the mid-late 1950's. Considering that time in history most people would've been trying to save as much as possible and feed a family within budget.
This is an easy sauce to make at home. The basic recipe is shown in video. Tried it as a Sloppy Joe recipe and thought it needed just a little extra boost.
Campbell's Souper Barbecue Sauce - Original Version
1tbsp brown sugar
1tbsp vinegar
1tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 can Campbell's tomato soup
¼ c Sweet-pickle relish
¼ c chopped onion
Combine all and simmer.
My changes -
1tsp kosher salt
1tsp pepper
½ tsp granulated garlic
¼ tsp Accent seasoning
¼ c chopped green onion
1 lbs ground beef
8 Hot Dogs
Rolls or bread...
Mac and Cheese Bake -
Boil pasta
1c shredded cheddar cheese
2c milk to simmer first
Mix ¼ c AP flour and ½ c milk separately, add to simmering milk and stir
Salt & pepper to taste
Combine all in baking dish and top with bread crumbs
We placed under the broiler at 450F a little to long
Check yours within 5-7minutes and decide how you want it.

Flank Steak Fajitas For Dinner!

Hey group! Welcome back! Today were making Flank Steak Fajitas on the kitchen. We're having poor weather conditions again so you do what you have to. I'm going to marinade the steaks ahead time for 2 hours. I had someone ask about using broth or stock to deglaze the pan. Are the granules of charcoal on top of the Mac and Cheese optional?
Only if you if take out of the broiler soon enough.
Ok, I'm in! Next family get together!😁
Looks good. Easy enough for a lazy weekend dinner. Always been a hot dog fan.
We thought about adding corn muffin mix on top and bake. Maybe next time. Thanks for watching!
Love this, going to steal parts of it. You can share with our viewers how to pronounce worstechire (lol) once you figure it out. Since we have no clue! 😅
I'm over 50yrs old and still don't know how to say it right. Probably never will... Thanks for watching!
I just say , wash your sister sauce
Wow, this is your best episode so far! The pacing was great and I really love the way your personality shines through. The Pitmaster family interactions were pretty amazing. Five stars, would broil again!
Thanks for watching! We were just having a fun day at home with a few cocktails.
Just ordered my 1400 on Black Friday sale. I've been smoking on the 590 for about 6 yrs without any issues. RecTeq is the best.
Very nice! This thing has a lot of space. I really like the smoke box addition. The folding front shelf is a must-have. Thanks for watching! Happy Grilling, Happy Holidays!
@@PitMasterJBackyardBBQ-up2rj I ordered the cover and the front shelf with it. Smoke box was out of stock.
i did the same, been using 590 for almost 2 years and just ordered my XL 1400 with smokebox, cannot wait, sold my 590 to a friend, wanted more space for sure
your drip tray is in wrong
I did realize that after the camera was off. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice that.
After being loaded up with turkey recently this is a good change of pace. I like that you didn't follow what others have been doing with pork burnt ends, loaded with sauces. Sometimes you don't need it. Everyone around here likes the crust pieces too! It all looks good to me. Thanks for sharing!
Yes sir! We love good burnt ends with sauces but wanted to taste the pork and not just sweet sauce. this time. Really like bacon on salads, so this was bacon on steroids! Thanks for watching!
Oh my! can't go wrong with any of it - perfect meal for after TG. It all looks incredible
Thanks for watching! I think next time I try this I'll fry the slices to get them more crispy. It was good and tender, but needed that little extra browning.
Did we skip Christmas and go straight to Easter in this vid? 😁 It all looks insanely good! That cheese bread looks amazing.
I was making a joke with the rabbits because of the salads, the Mrs. said to leave it in the final edits - so I did! The cheese bread holds up well, reheating the next day is just like fresh baked. Thanks for watching!
And no split ends! Lol, I had never heard of dough conditioner before and I am not so sure about it now, since I noticed you grew a third hand when you were cutting the pork belly...
😂The extra hand is good in the kitchen! Thanks for watching we really appreciate it!
Also remember Fallons playland on Massillon rd. I heard Euclid Beach was big in the day but never made it there, also remember a big park at Buckeye Lake, it was similar to Meyers Lake but also long gone. If you want nostalgia there is a park in NW Ga right on Ga Tn line that is still operating, haven't been there either. This will be a telling year as Cedar Fair and Six Flags merged and my old, retired coworkers don't see this in a positive light.
Remember my grandmother taking me there when the Shriners had their annual picnic, really enjoyed the day, rides, food and games. I seem to remember my grandmother wearing white gloves even in the early 60's. It was a special place for sure. Funny years later I worked at Cedar point for approximately 2 and a half years. The concessions when I started in the 70's were still locally owned as were the games. Sadly, the Corp took control of everything and that local feel was gone. Even as an employee, I remember the laughs and fun screams from the coasters. After the season ended the silence was overwhelming, sure there was plenty of action from Maintenace, but the crowds were gone on winter hiatus. People of today do not know what they missed. thanks for your vid.
Thank you for watching and also leaving a comment that takes us all back to those years. I never worked at a theme park but really appreciated every one I visited.
YUM! They looked so good! but what did you do with the bacon, did we miss that part? Getting on winter here too and no more grilling for us until next year. 😒
We're def making these again! Sorry, we used the magic of editing for the Q&A. The bacon was for Mrs. Pit Master's - Wedge Salads Recipe (don't tell anyone, it's for another vid!) Thanks for watching group, much love!
Those look really good - my only issue is hot sauce, I can't handle it, but a good BBQ sauce like Sweet Baby Rays or something similar and I'd be all over it!
These were good! You're right, a nice sweet BBQ sauce is great with them. Thanks for watching, we really appreciate it!
Bahama Mama and (non-spearmint) funnel cakes for the win! That's what you need to open: Bahama Mama's Pit Funnel Cakes Ltd! We would be happy watching you make anything. As winter approaches, comfort food does too and we just want to devour meals that make our stomachs feel like we glugged some brandy: that warm feeling of nourishment and happiness that we can get at home without having to explore the snowy wilderness. Or Dominos, if you forgot to pick up anything for the Thursday before shopping day...
Thanks for watching, really appreciate it. I like the new business name, I may take that! For sure, we're already planning meal ideas for the cold season and I'm taking inventory of the liquor cabinet too! It's funny you mentioned Dominos - I just got a card for $20 that is BOGO Dominos Large Pizza ( = or lesser) until June of 2025. Your first purchase pays for the card in these days!
This is crazy - love it!
We really love Halloween! I was just experimenting and put a bunch of sounds together for that ominous feel. Thanks for watching!
Pretty cool. Like how the sound FX lead you through, like a scientist in a lab alone, quiet, focused on the task. It's def bad - B, but not the worst ever. Try watching the original Jacobs Ladder movie from the early 90's, absolutely unwatchable. We left the theatre early.
Thanks for watching! I spent a lot of time trying to layer in the audio. Wanted the FX to help tell a spooky story.
What a spooooky broth! You should record yourself ladling it into Trick-or-Treater's bags tonight!
If only Mrs. Pit Master would let me! Thanks for watching!
this channel Rocks - Love it! Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween everyone! Thanks for watching!
Those are crust bowls, not bread bowls not the typical type anyway. might be great in some situations.
I guess you're right, not really what most would expect. You're also right that it's great in some cases. Most of our friends really enjoy them with cheese dips and salsa, sometimes soup cuz they don't leak everywhere right away! Thanks for watching!
That cheese bread looks crazy good. I love the bowl method, never would have thought to do that but it makes so much sense!
The cheese bread is always a winner here. I think the bread bowls are a nice presentation thing, that you can eat. Thanks for watching!
These look Fantastic! I'm afraid we'd mess this up somehow. But it will be fun to try! 😁
You can shortcut it easy, get the dough ball from the store and save a ton of time. Don't use the canned rolls, a good bread dough holds up much better. Try it! Have fun with it! Thanks for watching!
I can't wait to try this - I love a good bread bowl, especially with Chicken wild rice soup! And the Perkin's bread bowls were awesome !
That's the great thing with these, you can do about anything with them! The smaller size is great for single servings. Thanks for watching!
Good idea. A lot of things you can do with these. I'm thinking about smoked brisket, BBQ sauce and coleslaw.
You're right, brisket would be nice!
Why cut and cook the ribs in smaller portions vs the full rack?
This is a method I'd used on our old gas grill for years. Portion out for the group, have a little more surface area open to smoke because I cook at 350F for the first 30m and smoke levels are kinda low at this temp. Then I lower temp to 250F, get more smoke rolling and start to tenderize before the ribs are too hot to accept more smoke. We used 3 different sauces that's why I had 3 pans. At the very end I put those in the smoke box just to cruise until the fries were done. Thanks for watching!
Lot of prep on this. Buffalo Sauce recipe - hot or mild? These look like something I would munch on anytime, if you're making them, let me know next time.
This recipe is usually a bit spicy, some say it's almost too hot for them. You can use less Red Hot sauce and still get the flavor you want. Thanks for watching!
I was going to say you can just mingle with your fingle instead of using the pastry cutter, but apparently hot hands melt butter! This is the essential knowledge that I turn to the J Pit for. I love the ball gag, but my count got thrown off by that prick in the third act!
Thanks for watching! Thought I'd throw in a little game. You know how it goes, the prick in the room always gets noticed! Our raw footage has even more references, but it got to be a bit excessive.
This seems like a ton of work, but the end result looks amazing - We hope they were as good as they looked!
It's a lot off work but worth it. These had a nice flavor, not too sloppy. Easy to eat like a hand pie out by the fire pit! Thanks for watching!
omg - I want to eat these now! Do you deliver?
I would absolutely deliver these if I could! The kids stopped by to visit, they knew what was happening and we did not have any leftovers. Takes time to prep but we wanted something different. Thanks for watching!
We love this - so sorry, we normally get a notification when something new goes up and we never got one - I'm sure this brings back so many great memories.
I end up with a tear in my eye watching this. All of the companies that had their picnics there are no longer in Ohio. Thanks for watching!
Very very cool!
We thought so too! Thanks for watching!
Great video had no idea Meyers Lake had such a rich history.
I still can't believe this was never uploaded before now. Am I the first, one and only? Thanks for watching!
Very nice. Thanks for sharing this history. Brings back memories of carnivals and fairs as a child.
Thanks for watching! I couldn't sit on this any longer. This should be free to everyone.
I was excited about trying a smoker until you revealed that you woke up at 5am to start it... maybe I will leave it to the professionals
Yes sir, good BBQ needs the time and love put in. If your cooking like most folks you wouldn't need a full day like I did. Smaller stuff will cook faster and be great! Thanks for watching!
Ok that was impressive! What did you have with it? Just curious! It looks so good!
Thanks for watching! The Mrs. had salads, cheesy potatoes and garlic bread. This came out really nice, had good flavor inside and out. We had to package and freeze some for another day.
Whoa! where do you get a pork shoulder like that? That would feed us for weeks! It looks amazing!
I have to get these at the butcher shop. Had one you'll see on another vid coming soon that was 19lbs! The full picnic shoulder. Thanks for watching!
Looks like a good roast. I'll stop over and pick up some leftovers!
This was a good cook. I expected between 10-12 hours like in the Akorn cooker. But this time I didn't have keep watch on the temp range. I really like this Recteq grill. Thanks for wataching!
I would make this. We all have those "use what you have days". It's looks good. What about a New York Dog version?
Hold on there brother! We all know Chicago Style is king! 😀But, I'm not apposed to the idea. Stay tuned, I'll see what I can do. Thanks for watching!
How did you make the chalupa ? that looked amazing!
Thanks for watching group! Peace and Love! We made the Chalupa breads at home. It's just a bread/pizza dough, stretch out small pieces, start to fry and form a shell of it while cooking. They hold up well for lunch next day in the fridge.
oh my - that looks so good - I have never made that kind of relish - I love cucumbers though. so this might be a good addition to my recipe list.
Thanks for watching! We like this style of relish, it's sweet, but not too... Good on burgers and chicken sandwiches! I like adding the cucumber slices, it's another layer of good.
Nice, its been a long time since I have had Chicago style relish, wish I had some right now
Thanks for watching! I had to order the relish and Giardiniera. Nobody sells the good stuff around here.
Very nice!
Thanks for watching! I really like using this beast. There are a few vids in this cooking series so far. Trying to get more posted.
Wow! It does look good. You're right, that could be served with so many different things. I can tell it's not that "Uncles House BBQ" where everything is totally burnt and overcooked. Like the hot dogs that went on the same time the raw burgers did and of course you have hammered dogs and burned ass burgers nobody wants. Ever notice all the ketchup and mustard is gone while there's still 28 hot dogs and 15 burgers left that nobody wants to take home?
Totally know about the uncles house BBQ. He would always be running around doing inappropriate things and not watching the grill! Never forget when grandpa told him to get his ass back to that grill and feed everybody and stop acting like an a$$hole! Thanks for watching!
incredible!
Thanks for watching! We know most folks like chicken that's not overcooked and dry as the desert. These were about as good as using the old charcoal grill.
Where can I get me one of those fancy shirts??? I was always pretty sure chickens were not mammals, but now idk....
I can have more shirts made if you'd like to have them. The production group can help, just use the gmail in the descriptions. I was always undecided about chickens, just because everything tastes like chicken as they say! Thanks for watching!
Love Love Love the shirt!!! so wonderful
Thank you! They weren't cheap but we like them.
Looks really good! I see you've got your microphones working now. Good instructions. When is the history special?
It's going into final editing soon. I'll update the groups.
ahhh nice - I wanna try this! Looks great!
Thanks for watching! We really enjoyed this one.
Best video so far, great pacing and coverage. I haven't had a good steak fajita in a while, gonna have to prioritize this!
Thanks for watching! If you can buy skirt steaks in your area it's even better quality. We have to order skirts ahead of time around here now. There's a reason why it's called "butchers choice".
