Wonderful my dear friend!!!❤❤
Thank you so much and, you make some inspirational videos! I have stopped for a while Subscribed
you should have told me.....we could have met up for a coffee buddy
@@skycamvideo hi Steve...I should have yes. Next time!
You got lucky. I suppose it’s because you were controlling it with the app or a remote. But I did a dronie and mine flew over water and flew horizontal for 30 yards and turned into a submarine.
Hi. Yes I was using the Goggles 3 and the RC remote 3. Wonder if you were using "palm control"? Bad luck!
@ yes I was using palm control so no flight log and no control over it.
Did you recover it? If did you replace? Bad luck!@@tipsnadvice7284

Thanks! It's a really nice place. Not managing to get so far at the moment. Have to make the most
I am retired and I recently purchased a Neo Fly More Combo. I am really pleased with the video quality and features of my little drone.
@@1hjehje yes, it's really great. Lots of fun and very versatile.
How long did you not Neo have to sit on the naughty step ???? Not the Neo’s fault after all
@@155spy only a few minutes. I've since apologised to it and we both get along very well now😊
Fantastic to hear 🙌🏻 I have gotten my Neo just recently , we have agreed … I won’t put you in danger and thus I won’t have to look for the naughty corner in a round building …. Happy Epic Flights Friend
Lovely work mate
Most enjoyable video. Lovely footage. I don't think I have ever seen the place so quiet. Think all your swans are over here in the North East. Have a great weekend 🫡 ❤
Hi, Yes I enjoyed the peace of it all. Weather kept the drone grounded most of the time but the mist made it look quite atmospheric. I'm from the North East, raised in Penshaw. Enjoy all those swans and have a great weekend also...are you planning a lot of travelling?
Haha, great video.
Cracking work
Thanks! I came across a video by Justin Bainbridge on "Sound Design" What a good idea I thought! It just adds that bit extra.
Beautiful.👍🏻
Thanks! Yes, a village with it's own waterfall
nice tracking well done
@@johnnymac26 Cheers. Neo wasn't really fast enough. Avata next time...37 mph in sports mode should be more successful.
Cracking video mate loved it
Oh well, no good for me then. Was going to use one for my kayaking videos. Will continue with my DJI Mini 3 Pro for now and wait for the Mini 5 pro to come out
🤣Which part of "do not fly over water" confused you?🤣
Ha ha...well, that's easy for you to say😊😢
Seriously, "do not fly over water" only applies to when phone or auto are used...no RTH possible. I was using Motion 3, so "fly carefully over water" would have been more appropriate. All part of life's rich tapestry...and that's easy for me to say
I've come to the conclusion regarding the confusion... 1.Satellites lost when it went under the bridge 2.downward sensors then confronted by rapidly moving water, the surface of which was littered with floating foliage. I've seen enough successful Neo flights over water (using a controller) on UA-cam to make me think hard about this Just unusual circumstances which can be easily avoided in future....I hope lol
The issue is the downward facing cameras on the Neo have real problems with water. These cameras are used in all the modes except fully manual to allow the Neo to determine it's height and position. Over water the Neo can get confused as to where it is, resulting in it descending or at worse auto-landing into the water, or in your case struggling to stay in position and therefore not knowing what to do with your controller inputs. I have a video on my channel of me flying over water fully manual with no issues, but in any other mode you should avoid flying over water 😃
Not bad Chris. 😊
For a first attempt it's a good basis for improvement perhaps. Anyway, t'was great fun😊
Great video
Did you controlled it with your phone or by Dji remote control?
@@sinister4lyf DJI Motion 3
I liked reading about it as you showed the flight , great editing 😊👍👍
Lovely nice relaxing flight 😊👍👍
Thanks! It really is nice scenery !
Are any of these problems happening at higher altitudes or just near the surface? When i fly my mini 3 pro over water i try to stay up at least 30 feet and just zoom to make it look lower.
@@JohnWilliams-vr8fp Hello John. It's only happened once, very near the surface and the manual clearly gives warning . So, my fault really and I think it's a great little drone.
@@ChrisEdgarsFlyingCamerathanks. That’s what I was hoping. I have one on order which should arrive October 10. I’m hoping to use this when traveling to places where I can’t take my other drone. Quite often that is near water.
@@JohnWilliams-vr8fp it's so versatile and robustly built. Lots of fun. You will enjoy it I'm sure
whats going on with that digger in the early shots ???

Nicely done ✔️
I wasn't so lucky. I did a dronie quick shot nearxwater without connecting to my phone. It got confused, veered wildly to the left and dropped height into the water. Lesson learned!
@@consumedbynature ouch! Sorry to hear that😢
I almost did it at first use... Same mode.... But the drone goes over the sea and going back and back untill I couldn't see it.... So I ran, and turn on the controller, and it connects so I could take it back.... But almost lose it.....
Glad that you managed to save it! I have been thinking that going under the bridge, as I did, would have lost satellite contact and this must have added to the confusion.
Shouldn't fly over water using your phone because there is no RTH. If it loses WiFi it will just hover until battery dies, from what i understand...
You are correct, that's said in the manual.
Woodie is my Dad. This is lovely, thank you 🙏🏼❤️
@@adamwoodruff7373 you are most welcome. Certainly been a place we have loved visiting over many years!
Definetly deserved to be on the naughty step!
I don't see what all the fuss and complaints about the video quality on the Neo are about. Video looks good to me.

@@the_bloke_that_cuts_the_grass yes...the sense of impending didaster
Did you fly your neo using handphone controller or the rc n2...?
Hi I was using the Motion 3. I have both that and the FPV Controller 3 but I think that my preference is for the Motion 3. If you look at my previous video where I was " almost stumped" ...in it i was flying the Avata 2 using the Motion 3 and as you can see it's all OK. It's odd, but having spent the last 20 years flying RC (planes, helis, quads etc) using the sticks... I am now finding the wrist commands of the Motion 3 are so good. That was a bit long winded! \Chris
@@ChrisEdgarsFlyingCamera thank you for your explanation, really appreciate it...!!! Well, it just confirms that we can't fly the Neo over water even with controller.. thank you, kind sir 🙏
@@ChrisEdgarsFlyingCamera I love the motion controller. Unfortunately I did not learn to love it before I returned an Avata 2 because initially I didn't like it.

absolutely!
You can use it over water with a controller, but when doing quickshot absolutely no
@@JhoneKurt I was using the controller (motion 2 controller). so...B carefull!
I can see more people crying they have lost their NEO over water lol.
Was this raw footage or did you spend hours in editing with it ? Great video and you got a new sub 👍
Hi, good question! here goes... The title shot took a few minutes to do The shots while I was doing a presentation about drone flying to the Cumbria Morris Minor Owners Club was taken a few days beforehand and is entirely raw. The first three shots at the river were done using DJI Mini3 pro. That's up to and including the two of us on the bridge. You may notice that the second shot (of the sunlit river is reversed) From then on, all the shots are with the Neo, and are essentially as taken. A little colour grading done...mainly saturation and shadows...to enrich. Not a lot at all. Near the end I grab the Neo and twist to stop the motors. The resulting "swirl' I did increase colour and movement. No ND filters on either drone . cameras in Auto Naughty step is taken with smart phone So, not a lot really done to it. I CAN take hours editing if I'm trying to be cinematic with something. An enjoyable part of the hobby. I use da Vinci Resolve..VERY complicated but VERY good. So, this is from one grumpygrandpa to another grumpygrandpa Chris
@@ChrisEdgarsFlyingCamera thanks for the speedy reply 👍 is 1080 any better / torn between getting this or a refurbished mini 4 pro just the base unit and one extra battery
@@grumpygrandpa3640 depends what you want to achieve. video from the Neo is never going to be as good as the M4 but I don't think I'd want to use the Mini 4 for FPV. I haven't tried it on 1080p. I am obsessed with 4K I think 😀
@@ChrisEdgarsFlyingCamera And there lies the issue if you want to experience fpv then the Neo is the way to go even though you can with the m4 😂. I might just get the Neo get a taste of drone flying and video capture I can always just sell it on later and upgrade I just don’t want to give myself a bad start with poor image quality mind you I have nothing to compare it with. One last thing if you fly manual mode over water is that effected as well
@@grumpygrandpa3640 Do you think the image quality on this video is poor? (it's 4K 30fps.) Not quite as good as the Mini 3 Pro, but not bad in my humble opinion. I've not tried manual over water. I'm inclined to think that I was unlucky, maybe too low over the water and, if you look a the surface, it is littered with floating matter which is sweeping upriver with the tide, just below the sensors. All was ok until I stopped. But to the Neo, the surface was still moving quite fast. I'm not going to worry about it too much. Just keep higher in future If you do get a Neo, what controller? I have ended up with all three possible types. After some trials, I think I prefer the Motion 3, for both Neo and Avata. Despite years spent using "standard" 2 stick controllers, the Motion 3 seems more intuitive for FPV. But thats just my impression..we all differ!
Love this drone and wow I use this song on my videos too too choice new sub ❤
All these faulty NON Ai sensors should be taped up and blind folded! Any one try that simple hack. You think drone eyes would be smarter by now. It’s nearly 2025 cmon dji.
Interesting idea...I think i just got too close. Certainly never had problems in the past with any of my Minis.
great test i like the video i might get one but as a rc car person this will be my first drone do u recommend it or its just hyped \
@@spoonfather194 Hi, I like it and I've been flying drones if many different types and sizes for 17 years...they weren't called drones back then Neo is fun and very tough. Has various modes of control. Ideal both for beginner and more seasoned pilot too. Seems to stir opposing opinions but the majority are in favour I think... And... if you decide that you don't want to go further into flying, it will not have cost you too much money
@@ChrisEdgarsFlyingCamera I will get the neo just to make sure i can get use to it before going all in with expensive drones i searched what drones used to be called its uavs ,and wow its really amazing how an hobby can come along way 17 years experience i take your opinion 100% thank you
@@spoonfather194 well, there are many, many good tutors out there on UA-cam...with loads of advice. I would fly the Neo as a regular drone at first..filming, photographing, etc until you get used to flying and it becomes intuitive. Go carefully and slowly... Baby steps... Try not to crash! Use video editing software to make some movies. Neo takes pretty good pictures! Never be tempted to buy an El Cheapo drone which makes lots of claims..they just don't do the biz. You get what you pay for . DJI is good Personally I would not recommend FPV at first, you can aim for that later . It is great fun and a whole new experience. You will need to invest in Goggles when you do and the DJI Goggles 3 are brilliant. Anyway, its good to talk and there are lots of good people out there regards Chris
The latest Hoverair X1 pro is supposed to be able to fly over water, but the bridge also messes with the drone and it lands to as seen in another video where the drone flew under a bridge but on a road so no danger of a water accident. But many UA-camr videos out there with the Neo flying over people and objects on the water with zero issues.
@@spoonfather194for me the issue is that most drivers, even the mini series, are too big and too hassle with that fold/unfold. That’s why this “take from bag and fly” type is much appreciated, besides being small and very light. The kind a family guy needs. Despite that, DJI just let everything very raw software wise, very unfinished and little thought. Instead of hearing us consumers and release a fix fast (80% could be done in a week)
Great video 😊👍
Thank ThankYou! I do love that place
Good video Chris. Great lesson for me when I get my Neo next month.
Thank you Ken! My advice now is, simply don't get too close . I've not had this problem with any of my others but possibly never been as close as this was. Best wishes for the Neo!
@@ChrisEdgarsFlyingCamera I think it's all drones!....I put a video of my mini 4 pro on my channel yesterday and while it was tracking and using obstacle avoidance it went really low and touched the water of a rice field😆 I was lucky I only noticed when I played back the footage.
You can if you actually have the goggles and motion controller, but you can't fly too close as it messes up the bottom sensors from the water reflection, that's why it thinks it's supposed to land. Way more fun with the goggles.
Thanks for your input Stan! I was using Goggles 3 and Motion 3. I'm assuming that... 1. I was too close to the water surface 2. Maybe the Neo is more prone to a problem here than the more expensive Minis and Mavics That said, I am very happy with the Neo. Some people complain about the video quality but with an adjustment to settings and a tweak in post...no problem to me.
@@ChrisEdgarsFlyingCamera If you fly in manual mode, sensors are turned off, however, it is very easy to crash a drone in manual mode.
Great video Chris. Very naughty drone indeed 😮
@@ladyintheskyuk not as naughty as me disregarding the manual.. Summa was ready to jump into to water. So she said afterwards!
Nice flying and I enjoyed the narration.
Thanks! Good to know you enjoyed.
Nicely done. I need one of these. Are you using goggles and controller ?
Hi Steve. Yes I am ... Goggles 3 and Motion Controller 3. However, I have had the FPV Controller 3 delivered today...just tried it out flying above house and I do prefer it over the Motion 3. Sticks are more familiar (to me) than the slight wrist movement of Motion.
Let me know if you get one...it's a whole new world. I've done FPV before but never at such SPEEDS.
