Duck tape seems like a weird fix, but thank you for posting and showing me the release! I've been driving around with this thing ripped since you posted this 2 years ago🙃
Thanks for the video! Has anybody used real leather? I just ordered the cheap ebay one. It's hard to beat $9 since now I know it's so easy to replace, but I was tempted to upgrade.
Thanks so much for this post. I didn't have the fancy plastic tool, so I cut two sheet metal strips about 10" long by about 3/4" wide. If you push them in along the tracks down over the catch and go another inch or two after backing off the sliding arm rest a bit, you can slide the thing right off - it just rides up the sheet metal like a couple of ramps right over the catch.
Thanks for this video, I have been wanting to do this to my 2012 Ridgeline for the past 5 years. I thought I had to remove the center console (which I dreaded) to do this but your video made it easy. I tried using the trim removal tool that you used but I found that a wide tip flat screwdriver was easier. I put the screwdriver in by the clip and turned it 90 degrees, turning and pulling one side at a time was enough to clear the clip. I was going to use spay adhesive to secure the new cover but your duct tape idea was perfect. I can now remove the towel that I used to hide the worn and frayed cover.
This job is sometimes called a six packer. You are right it's a difficult job. I resorted to a medium length, medium size, flat head screw driver and with the help of a flash light I inserted and twisted the flat head between the top and the metal clip to pry it down enough to finally (and somewhat forcefully) pull it out. The six pack will follow. Thank you so much for posting this.
You are awesome!
Just did this today for my daughter's 2010 Ridgeline and it looks great. I used Gorilla spray adhesive, but your video was very helpful. Thanks!
Thank you!!
Top Tips 💪 straight to the point

That worked perfect. I cut an old hose clamp in half and used that. Thanks!
