*this anime was a metaphorical philosophic gem*
🤔Is that the guy that talks for Yhwach.
The irony. Even though it seemed like he blew him off, Mugen did follow Kariya's advice about using his head in battle. That's how he set up the brother with the scythe for a decapitation. Mugen used his head to take his head.
I just realized that was his secondary blade he used to stick into Kariya, a Mugen Special, so he used a move that his favorite rival would use. I love this series!
Seems like mugen was more of a unconventional Fighter. Meaning he makes his own style of sword fighting without taking advice from masters. It was easier for the samurai and Sarah to outmatch him because he hardly knew any fundamentals, but his unpredictable fighting style made a slight difference. However Jin is a Ronin, meaning he was trained in dojo once before, and mastered the art of Kenjitsu as he moved on. So he knew the fundamentals quite well. All the samurais and assassin's that Jin had faced in the series were good matchups compared to them vs mugen, which Mugen would just get toppled down everytime. Although mugen is used to fight adaptation, meaning he always finds a way to think outside the box and win by being unpredictable. Mugen was matching up against crazy guys, who fight dirty and more brutal than Jin. So if Jin were to go up against them, chances are he would get annihilated because he's not used to fighting anyone who was never trained in dojo. Kinda like a martial artist in a street fight, which is Jin, and A street fighter in a martial Arts match, which is Mugen. Different but equal.
these youtube ads can blow me had a 1:24 and a 50 second non stoppable one to watch this beauty.
To this day, still cannot find an anime to match my satisfaction with Samurai Champloo. Idk maybe I'm just old and shit.
Your old. Me too😅 40s? I was in my 20s
i got that feel with gintama
Honest question: Have you seen Rurouni Kenshin? If so, why do you like this more?
@@Zxtydabwepiuy I know "Battosai" 😎Don't judge me. I'm old school. born in 1980
@@Zxtydabwepiuy Why do I like this more? Each episode was rather different. the music was top notch, fitting the mode. While I like the ending a Rurouni more, Champloo was more unpredictable. so the package was better I would say.
RIP Nujabes. His work on samurai champloo's soundtrack would inspire musicians for years. The godfather of Lofi. Although the genre was created before him, Nujabes contributions helped drive its growth.
2:53 don't disgrace kenjutsu
Some live Some die
that was a dumb use of that technique tho: he didn't need to use it on a stab like that. he easily could've dodged it while doing his own stab, like a counter punch in boxing.
2:50 That duel was amazing.
Shit was peak
Samurai Champloo was truly a masterpiece
❤
Loved it
Something amazing to point out. By the end of the series, Mugen and Jin kinda combine each others philosphies in fighting for these last fights. Jin, the calculated warrior who uses the basics, direct and calculated attacks, vs Mugen who uses erratic and wild movements to throw off his opponent, opting instead of using his head, he uses his reflexes and outwits his opponents through sheer confusion, he leaves himself wide open intentionally to encourage openings from his opponents that he takes advantage of with his erratic fighting style. At the end here, Mugen defeats the assassins sent after him, by using his head for once, tricking the guy into lobbing off his own head in their fight with his chain blade by actually enacting a plan instead of just hoping his Ryukyu style would bring him through. And here, we see Jin relys on Mugen's ideology in this or combines it with his own, he leaves himself wide open, and relies on a strange technique that is super risky for him but also Kamiya, killing his opponent. Really great stuff!
yes a lot of people did not notice that, that mugen use his head vs his final enemies and jin used a surprise attack vs kariya who was like jin too book-form in his style.
He has jiraiyas voice
Best samurai anime ever
bro this is DEFINITION of swag
It makes ya wonder how good a person had to be with a sword that they were literally called “sword saints”. A dedication it’s hard to replicate in modern times, but to be called the best in a time of many great sword mans says something. This show perfectly encapsulates the unification period and how many swordmans found themselves becoming obsolete, the last of a dying breed but still wanting to prove themselves like the samurai of legend. Much like today men a generation of men suddenly had no greater purpose than purely living for the now. It’s the same drive that got our species out of the caves 1000s of years ago, the drive to overcome the impossible and become the hand of god. No wonder when it’s taken away there would be problems particularly with men who only know how to fight.
Jin trained at a dojo , mugen was from the streets.
Kariya was so fast he could have killed Mugen
Samurai champloo , Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop, you guys really just had to be there ! Everything adult swim dropped was a masterpiece ❤️🔥🔥🔥
something i learned today is they did a lot of hand-wavey swordplay in this show. normally wouldn't be a bad thing in anime, but there's no fantastical elements in this show. its swordplay and music are pretty much all it has going for it.

Seikro II is shaping up to be great!
a samurai champloo game would go so insane it isnt funny
@@biggpimpinfunny enough there was a samurai champloo game called. *samurai champloo sidetracked* Made by suda51
I cannot avoid sounding like a snob but... Don't even compare that Fromsoft shit with this masterpiece of an anime
When you reallize that mugen and zorro had the same voice actor^^ perfect match tho.
that's Spike Spiegel too yo haha
Kazuya Nakai is a great VA and in many popular roles
Also Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima
Mugen and Zoro have the same voice actor?!
Top 5 best Animes to me
I really love the detail that if you go back and rewatch the anime he uses the secret move a ton throughout the anime.
What? When? Jin never used his wakizaki until this point
@@Yorikoification Go back and watch the anime and you'll see he leaves the opening to get stabbed in order to land a hit on characters multiple times. I think you mean wakizashi?
@@3EyeWand3r3r Ah, he does have a sword style where he narrowly dodges his opponent's sword with minimal movement and then attacks with a strike on his own. It's not so much "letting his opponent hit him" as it is reading his opponent and countering them. This is in contrast to Mugen who is always on the move and strikes first And yes, I meant Wakizashi
Best 👏 show 👏 ever 👏 Also one where the dub is legendary.
Jin's the better samurai, but Mugen's the better fighter in general. The second Jin and ole sunhat have to fight without katanas or roughly katana shaped objects(Musashi you sly bastard), it's GOTTA be a different story.
wtf, is that fair
Older animation is just so damn good
TOTOONG CHARACTER MORAL SI JIN ON BASIS OF JAPANESE AND UKRAINE BASE SA HISTORY THEY SAY JIN IS HYPOCRITES WHO DONT UNDERSTAND DEFEAT AND USED ONE KATANA SOME SAY JIN WAS ACCEPT DEFEAT ON ONE HIS KATANA BUT NOT A PREPARED ENLIGHTEN ON BEST SAMURAI OPPONENT HE USED HARAKIRI THATS SAD TRUTH ON SAMURAI HE WAS NOT ENLIGHTEN IF U ENLIGHTEN U SAVED UR OWN LIFE TO FIGHT BAD EVIL GUYS THATS THE PATH OF WARRIOR A PACIFICATION OF TRUE ENLIGHTENMENT...
I will FOREVER, love this anime!!! Simple the BEST!!! There's Cowboy Bebop, then Samurai Champloo!!!
Niiiiiice same voice as dudes with green hair in mugiwara
Same remark
i watch this every day lately
jin is better, but mugen is my favorite
this is real anime..not that still screen emoji bs
Nah, why did I try to dodge that first parry?
It’s been *years* since I first saw this, and it still sticks out in my memory. I think this might be the best fight I’ve seen in a series.
it feels like a real sword fight

Force of Nature - Same ol' thing
Jin was the real MVP in this fight, but Kariya was really bad ass and had a cool backstory involving Jin.
I remember when I watched this as a kid for the first time -- before I knew who he was, I wanted him to be Fuu's father. He seemed like a fitting end to Mugen and Jin, almost biblical.
JIN WAS NOT RONIN BUT BUSHIDO SAMURAI....
Bushido is the teachings Samurai followed, Ronin means a masterless Samurai.
1:33 totoo galaw yan na di ko magaya gaya totoo mabilis yan na galaw may after image...
The scene capture so many facets of the historic samurai life and it's slow end. Two warriors who hold on to their own unique principles to the sword despite the political manipulations. Despite it all, they fought on their own terms without pause or regrets.
8:47 mastered death 🍁
Samurai Champloo and cowboy bepop were my favorite animes to watch even now both are still on my top 10 😮and surprisingly both kinda have the same vibe
Same here. Love the stories, but the beats/score bring them both home for me
not very surprising, actually, given that they were made basically by the same people and they have a similar structure, big focus on music, episodic plot etc etc xD
Yup same director
Both were done by Studio BONES
@@brewtron Cowboy Bebop was made by Studio Sunrise, while Samurai Champloo was made by Studio Manglobe, that was founded by the Studio Sunrise team that made the aforementioned Bebop
Can we take a minute to appreciate the sick soundtracks that accommodates every fight scene ❤❤
