“September Song”
This is an old tune composed by Kurt Weill with lyrics by Maxwell Anderson. It was first done by Walter Huston in the 1938 Broadway musical production Knickerbocker Holiday. I first heard it from Jimmy Durante. Lovely tune, I hope y’all like it too!

“Nevertheless” by the Mills Brothers This is from my Sophomore recital. I thought it was pretty alright. Also I’m feeling a lot better now, and hopefully I’ll get to record some new stuff for y’all. Have a good day!
Little Lord of The Rings tune on 3 string tenor banjo
Переглядів 133Місяць тому
Just picked up my banjo with a missing string and thought it sounded quite lovely, so here’s a little ditty reminiscent of “May it Be” and maybe the Shire Theme. In other words this is a video of me sitting on a field of victory, enjoying a few well earned comforts.

I uploaded a guitar version of this “idea” already, but someone suggested that I give piano a go. Here I am. Apologies in advance for my sloppiness, it is 34 degrees in here. (Also first try) Feel free to comment. If you have any ideas I’d love to hear em! Hope y’all like it, and have a good day folks! P.S Happy birthday Mom!
“Smile”
Переглядів 98Місяць тому
“Smile” was written by Charlie Chaplin with help from a composer by the name of David Raksin in 1936 as a instrumental love theme for the silent film “Modern Times”. It was inspired by Puccini’s opera “Tosca”. Linked here is the final scene from “Modern Times” which includes the tune. It is quite lovely and I would recommend anyone to watch it. ua-cam.com/video/Ps6ck1ejoAw/v-deo.htmlsi=DxXaTe-u...

I recorded this video in early March last year, and I totally spaced sharing it. I parked at black mountain and hiked for a day or two. Lovely trip. 🇺🇸
“Темная ночь” (Dark Is The Night)
Переглядів 2712 місяці тому
Transliteration of the original Russian lyrics Dark night, only bullets are whistling in the steppe, Only the wind is wailing through the telephone wires, stars are faintly flickering ... In the dark night, my love, I know you are not sleeping, And, near a child's crib, you secretly wipe away a tear. How I love the depths of your gentle eyes, How I long to press my lips to them! This dark night...
“We Three” Starring the beautiful red sun.

I saw how cool the sun looked and figured I needed to make a video with it. Immediately this lovely tune “We Three” by the Ink Spots popped into my head. Here it is. The future’s not ours to see. Que sera sera.

I was just walking around and I thought to myself… “Rag style house of the rising sun? That sounds sick.” So here’s a first attempt at that. Hope y’all like it! God bless y’all!

“The Doppelgänger” arranged by Dr. E, inspired by Franz Schubert. German folklore states that if you see your doppelgänger, it means that you are dead, or having a stroke or something like that.

Danke
Awesome!! I know this song off Willie Nelson’s album “Stardust” it’s clearly a different version. Great job
Thanks! Stardust is a great album!
Awesome ❤🎉
Thanks much! Glad you liked it.
An interesting interpretation of the song. Carry on.
Thanks, I shall.
Oh, I feel so blessed to have my son home for the holidays! And, I love the music he brings into our home. I love you Son!❤
Love you too.
You are already a legend in 2025
Thanks!

Oh….I L❤ve this one!
Oh….I L❤ve this one!
How you manage to sing like that truly baffles me. Bravo! 👏
Thanks, all I can recommend is sing, sing, sing. It only gets better.
Song takes a person back...
Certainly one that gets you thinkin’.
Peak. Simply peak. And you drippin!!!
Thanks much! I try!
You're a fantastic musician. Have you considered recording some of these covers or your own original music in a studio? I think that would really sound great (not to imply this doesn't already).
Thank you, I certainly would like to do that but I lack the equipment to do it myself. A few local engineers have shown interest in recording me, but they never have had time yet. It would definitely be fun.
I love it! the flow is fantastic! your skill is truly impressive! This gives me the vibes of 1920s New York
Thanks, I’m glad you liked it! I try.
Will you release move songs/covers like this in the future? I find myself listen to this a lot, you are extremely skilled buddy. I wish you would take the UA-cam channel some steps further and grow a career out of it. You are really extraordinary
I’m glad you enjoy it! I certainly hope to release more, if you have any suggestions I am open to exploring that too. Unfortunately as of late I have been quite sick and hence have found myself unable to make more videos. I will certainly release more once I am better, maybe even a few originals I dunno.
@@mathewtipich2266Firt of all get well soon🙏, about the second part, sounds awesome! About the suggestion, I think you might like 'Sway' or 'Fly me to the moon'
@ those are absolutely great ones I may just do em we’ll see how long it takes for me to get better
Sounds amazing! Cant wait haha@@mathewtipich2266
Simply amazing.
Thank you very much!
Pretty good.
Thanks.
Прикольно. В сочетании с автобусом на фоне песня заиграла новыми красками.😊
Спасибо!
This is amazing! If it was in a studio with a good microphone this would have been a masterpiece
Thanks!
Some things are best left alone. Though you got style! Carry on.
I shall!
You did a great job but I like HANK SR better. You're close though. GOOD JOB 👍😊❤
Thank you very much! I doubt anyone could do it like Hank did. I would recommend giving the George Straight a listen too, it’s pretty good.
Cool ragtime vibe
Thanks!
Chair dancin' nicely done!
Thanks!
Not an easy song to master. Nice work !
Thanks!
Great job..to me ,you sound just like hank sr...👍👍...
Thank you very much!
Your voice gives a feeling as though Merle Travis did a version of this song sometime in the '40s. It matches perfectly!
Thank you very much! I try.
I had grown up hearing this was a.n Actual Appalachian folk song. Am i wrong?
I would say you probably aren’t, to this day no one knows who the writer was. The original definitely was nothing like the animals version. The oldest recordings there are have a very delta blues feel, but they say the song was being played far before that. In conclusion, I’d sure bet you aren’t wrong.
For the love of God, somebody buy this kid a sammich 'fore his bony butt blows away.
He went to college, and then decided to stay in Wyoming….he needs some major feeding! I wish he was closer, so I could keep him fed.

You did MR. HANK proud‼️I think SIR HANK SR and JR would approve. Thanks for keeping the classics alive. 😊❤
Thanks! I try my best.
I doubt his figures is cold they are moving but he wasn't out there that long 😊
Matthew you did a pretty good job on Hank Sr. Here not bad at all man 👏👍👏👏🫶🫶 wonder what Hank Jr. Would think 🤔 probably would like it 😊
Thanks, I certainly hope he would like it!
That’s awesome man! Love this tune
Thanks, it’s quite the dandy.
I love it! Entertainers from that era are my favorite and you did it so well.
Thank you very much!
I always want to cry when I hear this…brilliant capture of the deeper feeling this song portrays!
Jimmy Page did something like this also... typing in black...
I’ll take a listen.
Holy crap, there is something in that which Syd Barrett might go bonkers for, I certainly know that I like it... Wow, one cant force themselves into the instrument sound, but they certainly can take advantage of it. You have art which I shall watch.
Thanks! I usually try to give it a good go!
I didn't realize you started here first. The true metronome of soul. The piano.
So true!
Ohh yeah
omg, without piano there ain't a prayer of learning guitar.
Darn, Son! In the category of "grassroots music on you tube" - you, 😊sir, are the WINNER!
Thank you very much!
It looks scary in there, alone at night!
Really good job bro Im sure youll have success in life Whatever that may look like for you 👍😎🤘
Thanks a lot! I will certainly do my best!
I breAK PICKs doing stuff like that, but your tonality does me in... wow. slick schtick. dope, fleek, it's right for today. go, man, go.
Thanks a lot mate! I will certainly continue!
What kind of picks do you use?
Some cellulose cheapo picks which have immaculate flex but crackle every 4 bars. Ridiculously cheap, 40 picks, 3 dollah
@ I think you should buy some Fender mediums or Dunlop Tortex picks, they are my personal favorites, they also won’t snap quite as easy.
@@Dixe-r7u It almost seems like they are designed to snap on the turnaround, just as you wanna get busy... lol. Tortex, sounds like snappy rubber pick, will look. Fender mediums are rather stiff, but very durable, yes. something in between a matchbook cover and the fender medium... I play hummingbird and such, banjo is a dream atm.
Wow!
Thanks!
Sweet harmony! And the tune is really neat, not to mention your guitar skills! Great job guys!!
Thank you very much!
Awesome Yodelling man love it❤❤
Thanks mate!
I think you should do a Leon Redbone song.
I’ll do some listening for sure!
